      @@manmadehuman yeah it’s definitely not cheap. However, getting a new car stereo installed in a newer vehicle is a lot more tedious than it ever has been been. Unfortunately, if you want to maintain a lot of factory integration, you need to purchase lot more than just the head unit and in a lot of cases it’s wise to get it installed by a professional. Once you add all that up, it ends up costing more than this unit. but I also understand that some vehicles just are not worth putting something like this in it

      That’s a great unit. I actually have one in my Lincoln. One thing to keep in mind, though with the maestro is obviously you would get rid of your factory look if that matters and it does not do all the factory integration. It can do some things like steering wheel controls. But depending on your vehicle make and model, it doesn’t always allow you to keep your USB ports and I don’t think it would allow me to keep my 360 camera in this instance either. But, depending on what you value, it might be the right system for some people. So thank you so much for bringing it up.

      @@Toid yeah I was doing a ton of research on this for my new grand cherokee. I thought about getting an android head unit like the ones from the company in your video. But this is my first build in a nice car (at least nice by my standards) and I wanted to go for sound quality. The kenwood I bought has two usb ports and 4 camera in. Idk if it does the 360 or not. The only down side is the screen is a little small. I had an android head unit with a 10" screen in my corolla so maybe that's why it seems small. I have great imaging and detail now. It took me forever to install it, the speakers, subwoofer, deadening and amp "correctly". It's was well worth the extra time to get it to look good and not like the installs I did in high school, before you could get all the info on how to from the internet.

      I don’t use the radio anymore, so I didn’t even think of that. Hopefully you find something that works for you.

    The price is crazy. I can buy a new screen and replace it with one at a lower price.

    • @Toid
      @Toid  4 месяца назад

      Maybe. However, this is designed for those who do not want to lose Factory integration. With this, everything works just like it did from the factory. With newer cars, updating the head unit to a new one will almost always lose some factory integration. And if you want to try to keep some, you will need to purchase secondary adapters, face plates, etc. With some vehicles, it actually ends up being more expensive to replace the radio (most of it is adapters). And you still lose some factory integration. Now a lot of newer cars, the radio is integrated with other systems, such as the climate control. For example, the Pathfinder, they don't even recommend you replacing the radio at all. So in the end it really comes down to what you need. I definitely wouldn't put this in an older car though. But one that I really care about factory integration or one that is hard to replace, this is a great option.

    Just so you know, its illegal in a lot of countries to not disclose sponsorships or similar agreements (like receiving the unit for free...). And releasing the video globally, makes this video illegal in many countries.
    Also, it costed any trust I had on this channel, since your opinion can be easily bought.

    • @Toid
      @Toid  Год назад +1

      I would highly encourage you to watch some of my other reviews. You will know when I don't like a product, I am very honest about it (take a look at my recent Arylic Speaker Review ruclips.net/video/7ZEnJz2M_hI/видео.html). Most non-RUclipsrs think receiving a product for free will sway your opinion. But what most don't realize is that once your channel hits a certain size you are saying no to way more than you ever say yes to. And as a good RUclipsr you should align yourself with companies that have your same value system. This is why you rarely see me do paid sponsorships, as they almost always want to limit what you say. I won't do a video unless they allow me to be honest with my findings. Of course, with most products I provide empirical data, this just doesn't really have any data to give. But I will always have a disclosure in my video description.

    • @ralmslb
      @ralmslb Год назад +4

      @@Toid I understand what you are saying.
      At the same time, when hard contradictory actions come into play, it quickly throws away that effort.
      Regardless if someone does not have a deal with the brand, where they can share their honest opinion, receiving a unit for free makes a difference and will result on a more positive outlook vs if you had to pay for it.
      Highly praising the brand, an highly positive review with no negatives, behaving like Nifty City products are the only in the market providing these solutions, with affiliate links and multiple times telling people to go to their website, while not disclosing you got the unit for free and have an incentive, puts in question any trust a viewer might have that you built from the past.
      If it had been disclosed at the start of the video, that the unit was provided by Nifty City, it allows the viewer to take your opinion with a grain of salt.
      Because of this, after following this channel for several months I've unsubscribed, however I might reconsider in the future, depending on RUclips suggestions and if I feel that improvements were made towards transparency with the viewers.
      It might feel harsh, but there is a lot of bad actors in RUclips and other platforms, that truly sell their opinion by faking liking something and essentially fooling their viewers for a quick buck.
      (I did noticed that a disclaimer was added in the description now, but still a visual and preferably spoken disclaimer at the start of the video should be provided)

They're absolutely trying to rape people with their profit margins on these. I could spend $500 instead on an amazing head unit that has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a built-in amp and a hundred times the features of a stock radio. Start making these things for $100 or less and then people will buy them. The company is going to sink if they continue to try and charge this much for these little units. Honestly, it’s a really great price when you compare it to an aftermarket stereo. An aftermarket stereo averages $500 then an additional $200 for the equipment to save steering wheel controls. Plus a lot of vehicles now I need a trim package. That can range anywhere from 100 to up to $500. Then you need to add install, which is probably going to be at least an additional $500. Especially since the installation that you do nowadays is completely different than what it was 10 years ago. It’s not uncommon for an aftermarket stereo to cost on the lower end $1000 installed and up to $2500. Even after spending all that money, you won’t be able to keep all factor integration. $700 for something you can install yourself in an hour and keep all factory integration is pretty amazing.

    This is crap! For $799 I can just buy a whole new head unit.

      You can. But a new head unit on a new car requires several aftermarket pieces to integrate with a new vehicle. In most cases it also requires you to get it installed by a professional. It is no longer just buying a new head unit unfortunately. The cost of buying a good head unit with extras and install can far exceed this. The upfront cost is due to the fact that it can integrate completely with your car stereo without losing any of your car functionality. And you can install it yourself.

      You could spend similar or a little more and have increased features with full integration and better overall sound quality. Do your homework, you already did all the work of removing the radio, go the distance. @@Toid

      Do you think that’s expensive? I actually think that’s pretty cheap. Add in the fact that you don’t have to pay for any labor or custom work while being able to maintain your factory integration, it’s a really good deal. Some install kits now for vehicles are near $500 in themselves. That’s mainly due to the fact that they provide new plastic trim pieces and custom harnesses. And that’s not even counting the radio yet. And you are absolutely guaranteed to lose some of the factory integration. To be $700 is a really good price especially for everything that this does.
