Very practical ,concise & concepts well explained.... referred it immediately to my daughter doing MBBS finals.. Thanks alot ..God bless you & your family for dedication..👍
Mam...first of all thanku so much.....then I have read, convulsions also occurs in newborns....u also said hypoglycaemia, hypoxia(severe birth aspyxia)...also cause hypothermia....n we also say therapeutic hypothermia should b maintained for 6_12hrs in severe birth asphyxia........so confused .....what is the range of therapeutic hypothermia then?.....🙏🙏
Therapeutic hypothermia is administered either by selective head cooling (SHC) or whole-body cooling (WBC). SHC needs a head cap that circulates cold water to decrease the core temperature of the neonate. The head and brain structures reach a cooler temperature than the body. The target temperature in SHC is 34 to 35 degrees C. Remove the cooling cap every 12 hours to look for irritative injury of the scalp due to the cap. WBC needs a special blanket placed that circulates water, which can be cooled or warmed. WBC achieves uniform cooling of the whole body. The target temperature in WBC is 33 to 34 degrees
mam ..with my baby same things ..after birth doctor said to us take baby to where given heat by machine then after some times baby started crying. now she is growing slowly.. so please mam tell me is it dangerous for baby or she will survive to better health? please reply 🙏
Hypothermia is a sign not the diagnosis so due to what reason your baby had it, ultimately decide prognosis. Also severity of hypothermia affect. Mild hypothermia is very common finding in winter season
Excellent presentation Doctor. Keep doing more videos on pedia then it will be more useful to many students. Thank you doctor. Have a great day
