    1. Is 14 days course of meropenem to counter E Coli infection which has led to sepsis good enough ?
    2. Is it to be provided only in NICU for entire 14 days even after flushing of bacteria ?
    3. Long term complications of NICU in babies which were treated for sepsis ?

    • @learningpediatrics5347
      @learningpediatrics5347  3 года назад

      1. Yes 14 days enough Except In meningitis -21 days and in septic arthritis-6 weeks duration of antibiotics
      3. Complications of NS are chronic lung disease, neurodevelopmental outcome will be affected eg. Hearing , vision impairment, CP, MR.

    Hello, Madam
    I have question if baby weight is 10 kg full term baby,so for example fluconazole
    Trick 10×6=60 ml/dose we can give?

    • @learningpediatrics5347
      @learningpediatrics5347  Год назад +1

      Hello
      Maximum weight of newborn is 4 kg. So
      Loading dose 12 mg/kg- trick =wt x6 as concentration of fluconazole is 2 mg/ml
      So 4x6=24 ml maximum
      Then maintenance 6 mg/kg daily od
      So trick wt X 3 (so for 4 kg 4X 3 = 12 ml daily)
