I know I am late to reply this comment, but I must say this as it is important to me: The Empire of Brazil was just as great as many other European Empires from 1824 to 1889, but unfortunately we have suffered a terrible injustice done by some republican army officers, who disagreed with our Emperor D. Pedro II, who was loved by the population. As a patriot I feel just as sad as you do.
