    Simple as key duplicating technique?

It was really just a demonstration that the < $200 key copying machine I've seen around does seem to work as intended, for simple Schlage and Kwikset and their ilk. I've also originated keys using depth and space keys. And I've had mixed success copying and originating SFIC keys.

So how cheap was that machine?

@@DoctorHogmaster Wow, that's cheap (and it looks it as well). What's your opinion of the quality?

Ken Nixon It works well enough. For the price, I think it would be hard to beat. It was definitely designed for “low cost” countries, as there’s a hand crank you can use if you don’t have electricity 😳. But there are some “features” that are problematic. There’s only one button, and you hold it in for a few seconds and it just goes until it hits it’s stopping point. There’s no off switch of any kind. So after I got it, I had to order an E-stop switch for it to plug into before I was willing to turn it on. Also, although I haven’t taken the shroud off of this one, I’ve seen another RUclips video where somebody does with a similar machine and there’s just an eccentric wheel of sorts that rotates and pushes the bar that holds the key holder while the grinder is spinning. Once that gets to it’s stop, it shuts off. So that’s convenient and all, but if I want to use depth and space keys to do key origination, I’ll have a hard time with that in place. I might see if I can easily remove it / put it back on.
In short, it’s a low quality machine, but it DOES do what it was built to do.

@@DoctorHogmaster Probably fine for "Crapset" or "Schlaggey" locks -- Ya, no fun to try and use depth & space keys -- Why not try cutting a Medeco Biaxial key on it, ha, ha

Haha, good luck with that! Although I do want to try a Best key at some point soon. That might work okay.
