I think one datapoint often missed in the longevity and health space is social consequences. Sure, some people can drink occasionally and it won't hurt their health if they only have one or two drinks a week. However, the consequences of drinking alcohol have the most terrible and catastrophic consequences on families, communities, and overall humanity. Alcohol is involved in the vast majority of murders, domestive violence cases, and child abuse cases.

Even when I cut down my drinking tremendously, it wasn't moderate according to what's considered moderate. I rather just not drink at all. I'm not a fan of people who counsel and the dangers of alcohol but say drinking poison is okay in moderation.
I used to watch videos like this all the time. For that reason, I am coming up on 12 months sober. Have no desire yo ever go back to drinking. Just way more negatives than there are positives. Math aint mathin for me 🤷🏻♂️
OK, so there’s no health benefit to a neurotoxic Class 1 carcinogen that is also highly addictive. And yet you continue to drink it and counsel your patients to do the same. I’m reading Outlive, which is about prevention of health problems. 🧐
Don't drink at home. Don't drink daily. Don't drink a lot at once. Don't drink after dinner and you'll surely have bigger health problems than your alcohol intake.
How disappointing to hear him say 1 drink per day is ok. I expected him to say no more that 2 per WEEK at the most. Better is none at all, since it is shown to be carci nogenic. If you must drink, how about one drink on Friday and one on Saturday, that is it.
How about the FRENCH PARADOX. My Dr said to drink 2 a day. But I do not drink .alcohol has destroyed more people's lives than any other drug .I.ll pass😂
Lol. Tequila ir martini us joke taste wise, loud party noises are annoying and highly stress inducing. People who do both I dont understand. But parts of me understand the feeling it might bring. I just haven't felt it with high frequency
Once you quit for awhile, you can see how gross it makes you feel. The positive “buzz” seems more like sedation. Now I just feel stupider when I drink. I am just less capable of doing things as well. Like try to play pickleball or something after a beer and you can notice that you’re 10-20% slower to react. I think it always made me that way, I just actually realize it more after going sober for a long time.

False. Beer and wine are fundamental healthy beverages, which don't cause social problems in moderation, as with anything good.
@@bonsummers2657"Fundamentally healthy"......definitely not. Not necessarily terrible in moderation but still

POSITIVE social effects too as social lubricant forming human communities.
Let’s not forget that alcohol is a known carcinogen, one of the most common causes of cancer
Are the accumulated effects of alcohol use reversible if you stop or significantly limit alcohol intake? Thanks.
Yes
Does alcohol consumption increase LDL production?

When they talk about the dangers of alcohol yet still drink and promote moderate drinking, is where he losee me. Just let it all go.

A drink a day is moderate?! 7 drinks a week seems excessive

I do plenty of crap for no health benefits so I don’t mind lmao
I never understood alcohol, it tastes so bad
And about the stomach pain or before, the head haches (or aches)
You are lucky , you don't have the predisposition to not just like it , but to LOVE it , like i do unfortunately. :)

Let your body reveal,… not the literature.
