I'm disappointed that I didn't hear about this sooner. I would have attended the protest. Why the urgency to do destruction? Our president wants more steel production. Many things wood can build can also be built of steel. Why this wood? Why now? I'm very sad. Uninterrupted large tracts of wild land need to INCREASE! for the good of the planet. This is why we need Vonnegut's President of the Future. This is a short sighted plan where a far sighted one is needed.

Hi Thomas. The Indiana Dept. of Natural Resources' budget was cut around 2005. As a result, they increased logging by 400% to generate revenue. The timber industry loves the cheap timber it gets from our public forests. The good news is that citizens and even Republican state lawmakers have had enough and are speaking out. Check out this story in the Indy Star: www.indystar.com/story/news/2017/11/30/heels-yellowwood-controversy-lawmakers-take-aim-logging-state-forests/906064001/
