Just got him for $44 off of a Prime Day deal. I’m incredibly pleased with him overall. My only gripes are how the helmeted head hinders most neck articulation, and of course the drab cape.

Sh Figuarts are top tier toys. This company rarely provides a display base, I'm ok with that. I like the cape. I've waited for this figure for almost a decade... I'm happy with my figure.

Really impressed with the scaled-down detail. Sometimes I find myself playing with my 12th scale stuff more, easier to handle, and less fear of damage than when dealing with HTs

From what I've seen, SHF capes are typically terrible. And the Loki is very short, Hiddleston is 6'2," so the figure should be just over six inches in height.

Actually has 2 major flaws, the 2nd being height as he's way too short & doesn't scale with the other SHF Avengers. Comparing him to the SHF or Mafex IW Thor he looks more like Thor's junior high age brother in terms of height when actually the actors are approximately the same height in the MCU films. Only SHF comparable you showed was 89 Batman which is misleading from a scale perspective as another completely blown scale by SHF for the same reason, way too short imo. Unfortunately SHF has had this scale issue before too as same issue on their Justice League Batman release. You can pull the legs down to remedy the height issue some as hidden by the armor/attire if you want to just keep him in one vanilla pose on the shelf but it's priced as a highly articulated figure so having to do that is sorta BS imo. No good excuse for missing the height within a same line of figs, more like lousy QC imo. Thanks for the review though and some great pics.

Yup 100% with you here. He's way too short when compared to any of the Avengers figuarts figures, completely out of scale. Hiddleston is quite a tall actor (I think 6'2"), so this figure does not do his character any justice. The big forehead also throws the figure off. Also, I think the price for this figure is more than a usual release, so there's no excuse for such screw ups. I'm hoping Mafex can make a movie Loki in a proper scale.
@@ssjMaximum22Goku Yeah the scale issue is a big miss by SHF imo. I don't like the headsculpts look w/o the helmut as something's just off & it's probably the massive forehead as you noted (since hidden w/helmut on). Who knows if Mafex will produce a Loki as they are always slow with their line issues but yeah hope they eventually get around to it as they'll likely at least get the scale & cape right. This one's an easy pass for me (just like a number of the other SHF Marvel line releases that were not that great imo)

The height difference between marvel legends and the Figuarts marvel figures isnt that bad. It’s still instantly noticeable but you can easily hide it with posing

The reason the scepters come apart is to aid in getting them into the hand without scratching too much paint. Also, you don't know this yet, but both Loki and Batman are too small and out of proper scale, even with other SHF figures. If you check out the Cap vs Cap Captain America, he is in proper scale and towers over these two.
And you should probably skip the SHF Mandalorian figures. They are just so obnoxious. Wait for the Mafex.

I love this figure. It takes a while to appreciate the likeness on the casual face though but after some time, it REALLY looks like Tom Hiddleston from some angles. having the late day sun shining on the figure helps as well. there is no redeeming the "laughing" face though

Of the recent SH Figuarts releases the two I feel that nail likenesses are the 84 Wonder Woman and Black Widow from Infinity War. Those two just nail it. I haven't gotten doctor strange yet, but he looks to have a nailed likeness as well from photos I've seen.

Nice piece Justin, again I'm a big fan of 1/12 figures. Just ordered all the NECA Terminator figures. NECA do a great Predator and Alien collection which I love.
Again no base " Ahh " at least Macfarlane figures have the bases in his multiverse DC range.

I was gonna get this one but decided to look to see if there was a video of it and I'm glad I found yours. I think I'm just gonna save up a little more for the Hot Toys version because that cape is just bad and the way the head sculpt sits on the body creeps me out.

Idk about the figuarts mando, from what I’ve seen not many people have been too happy with him. Other reviewers like the fwoosh have had some annoyances. Figuarts has great iron man figures, like the 50 and the 7. Also, if you’re gonna do more 1/12 stuff, mafex has some really nice releases like their Spider-Man figures (mcu and comic) and other stuff like the infinity war Thor (They also have a beskar mando coming which I’m excited for). Great review!

I have Snape, Spidey, Harry and Iron Man from S.H. Figuarts and love them (except for Spidey...) and I must say I'm not a big fan of the Loki figurine... I think however I will get Thor from Mafex since I'm quite happy with my second Spidey.

Some SHF get stands and others don’t if you get the SHF The Wasp and Tamashii Stand you’ll be impressed.

Mando black series figure has over exaggerated proportions? It looks great, the sh figurats version of mando is way more bulky and looks bad in comparison to the black series one, the head looks way too small and the chest looks huge

The outfit
The mando capes were crappy too. The capes are easily removable on most SHF figures (just take off the head). SHF capes have been weak (the most recent Vader and Kylo ones are decent).
The SHF Mando’s, as The Fwoosh said, are over engineered bullshit! I’ve sold my first mando and wi sell my new mando - I’m going to get the Mafex version instead. It looks great and comes with a child and the head isn’t small.

Dear god, that grinning head is horrendous! That second head is far better. I'm sorry, but for what they're charging here I'd expect tad better. I got the first release of Hot Toys Avengers Loki back in the day and although it has It's faults I still prefer it to something like this. Do like the solution to the hair though. That was my main issue with the HT version sadly.
Have to admit though I'm a bit biased against 1/2th scale as they don't seem to be as detailed as 1/6th (no surprise given the size I suppose) and fabrics don't work as well at that small scale imo.

Ahh, see this is the main issue with a 1/6th scale reviewer doing the same for a 1/12th scale review. Insane expectations that you don’t let go of from the 1/6th scale reviews that you force on the 1/12th scale figures. Not the same thing at all.
