The miner will still run out of mineral eventually. The glitch only relates to energy. I think the way the "leave-while-building" glitch works is that the game will never compute energy-related stuff in distant areas. It will only store the energy state ("is it powered?") of some buildings when you leave an area. And by default, while still in construction, structures are powered (you can see that when you build a radar for instance, without power source, it will run for just a bit before turning off).
The number of research buildings you can have at once is limited by your base level, indeed. This run uses a glitch that has since been patched out. To elaborate, there used to be a shortcut that lets you build at max researched upgrade level, and if we kept it on, it would allow us to go over the limit up to a certain point. But as this mechanics have been changed, the glitch is gone too. Later on, I also use an exploit that lets you mine minerals with unpowered buildings by leaving the area early. This has also been patched out. Because of these two changes, it's probably no longer possible to complete the game that fast.
@@doublevil2172 I've played it recently, and rare minerals mines has to be completed and powered to be able to provide resources, and this could be a huge time lose, and need to be optimized
@@GGamorozo Yeah, not only that, but the building upgrade system has been completely redone and that eliminated the glitch that allowed me to build research centers over the limit. These two are huge time savers. I think the only upside is a bunch of fixes for the final attack that makes an exploit not shown in my run easier to perform. Basically you can manipulate the game when starting the final attack to prevent enemies from spawning at all. This is a huge time save because it means you don't have to spend minutes fortifying your base, and don't have to suffer through the lag slowing down your game. In the patch I was running, it was way too risky and almost never worked. Now it's kind of easier because it will never softlock you, but it's still inconsistent.
@@doublevil2172 During my playthogh I tried to re-do some of your tricks, but it was mostly pointless. Wall-walking also don't work anymore. However I managed to selflock myself in metal terror so there are still some bugs :D (I covered entire map with radars which prevent Monolith spawn). And "like a pro" i finished game on my crappy PC in ca. 0.25 speed. It was like slide show, over 45s for wind turbine... pain :D Nonetheless sub 2h is great time, and You should try set another WR on recent patch. I don't think the difficulty really matters in any way for this category. As far as I know, even with the latest difficulty balance update, it only affects attack wave composition and frequency. But we don't really leave any room for attacks to occur, except for the mandatory portal defense, which I'm pretty sure is the same in every difficulty.
All speedrunners using easy difficulty. Looks like if you dont have time, dont bother with speedrunners if you cant even take time to learn something basics as this.
Speedruning is not about difficulty, but about time. You should check restrictions, or rules, before commenting. A lot of games is divided by difficulty level, so there more than one WR for one game. But this particular game don't have such resticion
And here i am... Just builded the Lab and sitting behind my 2 layers of walls in 5 hours ))) Awesome run!
wow ! absolutement fou le speedrun , bravo ! :3
Merci :D
when you leave a biome while the miner is still being built does the deposit have infinite minerals or does it still run out?

@@doublevil2172 i see. thanks
How do you build that much research buildings? In my case it is equal to the main building level.

I'm not even mad thats amazing!!!
Isn't this game highly rng based? Must suck to run it
👍
Try to do it now ;) we shall see how good You are without all these outdated bugs
You're right, I've heard from another runner (and tested myself) that most glitches used in this run are no longer possible.
