In the animator's notes specifically Weiling Zhang said sukuna doesnt send any slashes and mahoraga punches to deflect slashes he thinks will come but don't which makes a fool out of mahoraga. This teaches Mahoraga how to lie (mahoraga feints a punch) and Sukuna smiles as the punch hits him knowing he tainted something devine.
Nah sukuna was sending feint attacks since he found out mahoraga was using his slashes in order to launch his body parts as projectiles at him so mahoraga was just trying to launch his body parts towards sukuna but didn’t know when they (and if) were going to hit him (also while he may be able to see the slashes it still makes markes on mahoraga of where he got slashed)
