- In this vlog we explore the Chatuchak Market in Bangkok, Thailand, trying lots of yummy food including our fav, mango sticky rice ice cream! Then we head back to Khaosan to try a delicious scorpion on a stick :) It was a pleasant experience for everyone involved. Hannah is still raving about it.

The part where Hannah bit into the scorpion and struggles to bite down, meanwhile the scorpions legs are stuck on her lips!! 😂 I died laughing but also my stomach was churning!

Shoutout to you both for making a big change in your life. Thailand was the perfect place to start this new chapter in your life. I love my job too much, but I do visit Thailand at least once every year. It's my favorite place to visit. I head back in about 2 weeks for a 3 week trip. Have fun, stay safe. The reason tropical fruits in general (like mango, papaya, bananas etc) taste better in the country or close to the country they are made, is because the travel time to the shop is days rather than weeks.
For example fruits like that in EU, taste almost nothing, because they have to be picked and sent when they're unripe as hell, and thus havent been able to grow fully. Then chilled and put on a plane or boat.
So when the mangos arrive here, they've basically had half their time maturing spent in a chilled container with no more nutrients coming from their tree.
Thats why the flavor is gone.
Like imagine if you took an apple from the tree when it was a small green ball, and then left it in the fridge for a month.

When Hannah eats a scorpion and acts like she's going to vomit, it makes me feel excited. You two are very brave. I'm a man and I've lived in Bangkok for decades but I've never tried scorpion before. It doesn't look delicious at all. 😅🤣😂
I tried to eat insect the grasshopper in deepfry with salty sauce and papper the first time since 1986. The taste was so amazing for me but not for scoppion. I don't think to try it.

I absolutely must go to this market. Did you buy the cat shirt you were nodding your head about?? Absolutely love pork. Absolutely loved your reaction after tasting coconut ice cream for the 1ST time. I could eat that 24/7, so yummy and delicious. I also laughed when she wanted to Eat cold water. LOL I have never had the nerve or desire to eat one of those but i admire your courage. I notice you said you are in Krabi. A great area. I used to always stay in Krabi town. Ao nang is really way over touristed. Stayed in town and would ride the baht bus out to the beaches. lots of fun things to see in the area. Fun to go out to the islands, but frankly I would give Phuket a pass. Expensive and not very friendly, compared to other parts of Thailand. But the beaches are lovely. Todays mantra. "sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen".

In Bangkok, you must visit the Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Arun and eat delicious food at ICONSIAM, Yaowarat, and Terminal 21. Famous places in Bangkok. Guess what?? You can!!
Try to get out of the habit of booking travel and excursions too far in advance and go for a see how you feel before moving on. Bangkok not so big a deal as you'll probably end up there again as it's the major travel hub for the rest of Thailand so unless you're planning on flying everywhere you'll probably be back.
Enjoy your travels by not being tied down to a fixed schedule.

Thai person here....the scorpion on a stick is pretty much a tourist trap. You will be hard pressed to find a thai person willing to eat that kind of insect, even in a super rural area.
