That anger in his voice at the very end is still probably the most chilling thing hip hop has ever had on record. Pure anger, rage, ferocity.
Most chilling thing to have ever been recorded in hiphop is still Dance With The Devil by Immortal Technique
@@97Curs hard disagree. I think Dance with the Devil is cheesy, corny and sounds like an angsty teenager wrote it. Plus Immortal Technique's god awful flow ruins any chance it had at being good anyway. It's trashy shock rap.
Savagery
@@xavvi it is more of a graphic narrative intended to acquire imagery. The bars were good, but raw and emotionless. On the other hand, Tupac is live with fire. The closest that comes to pac in my opinion is probably DMX (vision and passion aspect), ice cube and snoop dogg (understanding the game and narrative), and of course Biggie (with the majestic bars).
@@hummingbir6 always said the same thing about DMX

Think about it, Tupac, Snoop, Dog Pound, Ice Cube, Dre, Wu Tang Clan, Biggie and Junior Mafia, Mobb Deep, Capone-N-Norie, Nas, Boot Camp Clique, Terror Squad, OutKast (Dungeon Something they were called). the reason you love tupacs sound is because he is almost screaming every lyric into the mic.. every bar is a bit of his soul
Quick brief summary on what happened, 2pac got shot 5 times (including one shot in the head) when going to the studio that Diddy and Biggie were in, 2pac blamed biggie for it as they were friends at the time and he had thought biggie knew that he was about to get set up. 2pac went jail and biggie dropped a song called ' Who Shot ya '' where 2pac heard it on the radio in prison. 2pac and everyone thought biggie was taunting 2pac on getting shot but biggie said the song was recorded way before the shooting. 2pac got out of jail, allegedly slept with biggie's wife (Faith Evan) (shes an RNB singer) Faith and Biggie were on bad terms at the time and they also recorded a song together, Pac then released hit em up claiming he slept with Faith.. and thats what happened.. With the Deaths, Pac was killed in Vegas.. Allegedly Suge Knight then ordered a hit on biggie as he came back to enemy turf (LA) after Pac died thinking the beef was now over.. Tupac died aged 25 and Biggie died aged 24, they both died 6 months apart.
But React to Tupac - Me Against the World, Dear Mama, If I Die Tonight, Death Around the Corner, So Many Tears, Only God can Judge Me, To Live and Die in LA AND Friend like me. These are his most Powerful songs imo
Let's not forget one of the best diss tracks ever imo, Biggie's "Long kiss goodnight" which dissed 2pac after he had already died. Many saw it as disrespecting a dead man and dismiss it, but for me it just shows how real the beef was. So much hidden meaning in it as well
Also the people who shot tupac were the same people that set him up with the rape case. And they were extorting Badboy which is why biggie didn't want to say who did it. They were gangsters running new York at the time. Which is why tupac says fear is stronger than love
Suge knight blamed biggie and convinced pac. That's a very important fact you forget ;)

"Changes"..still applies today! My favorite Tupac lyrics.
Tupac and biggie beef actually had nothing to do with hiphop. They were both friends. It's a long story but basically tupac got shot and setup in new York. Apparently biggie new those people and those guys were gangsters who ran new York in the 90s and we're extorting Badboy which is the label run by diddy which biggie was on. Biggie didn't want to say anything because it would be too dangerous. Those guys also set tupac up with his sexual assault case aswell tupac went to jail they went free. Although he wasn't charged with rape and he didn't do and the girl admitted it wasn't tupac it was the other people he still went to jail for touching the girls butt. So that group of people basically ruined tupac and he came out of jail and was full of rage and went after biggie and anyone who wanted to side with him.
Thats not the whole story you took one side. Biggie has no idea what went down when pac got shot at that moment. When they were surprised he lived pac thought he had something and he also dropped who shot ya. Song had nothin to do with pac just happened to drop at the worse time possible. Their beef started from complete misunderstandings and their own people misdirecting them.
Deanz Beber Yeah and Biggie was definitely a snake!!! Trust me 💯
2pac got robbed and shot at a location in New York aswell, the location which BadBoy knew about, and no one else.
2pac was sure badboy either set him up or it was them who almost killed him. Paranoia had a lot to do with the beef aswell.
Deanz Beber the Illuminati killer both
That location was Quad Studios.
After Ice Cube left N.W.A they dissed him and he made a diss track back towards them called ''No Vaseline'' which is arguably one of the best diss tracks ever
It's no doubt a great song, but I can't help but feel that it really hasn't aged well. There are a lot of good disses there, but so many of the disses were just gay jokes
@@moneykenny119 So was Either but that i still up there as one of the goat diss tracks(gay-z and cockafella lines for example)
Ether - Nas is no.1
Hit em up has aged better though.... this could still be a hit
Ain't no arguably about it. It is one of the greatest.
2pac will always be the best 4ever.
💯
nah. pac was good. really good even. but for sure not the best. illmatic was better than anything pac put out alone. people who say pac was the greatest rapper ever don't know shit about the rap scene back then. big l, godfather don, OC, AZ, EC Illa, Double Life, Zigg Zagg, shadez of brooklyn, werd of mouph, gab gotcha, das efx etc etc etc i could go on. that's not even to say that any of who i listed was better than pac but if you don't know these artists then you have no business saying ANY rapper was the best, or is the best.

You guys should do Ether by Nas next, his disses Jay-Z in the song. A lot of people consider Ether and Hit Em up by Tupac to be the best diss tracks of all time.

Nicholas Friscia that's your opinion...I'm not really a fan of Ice Cube
No Vaseline is the best diss of all time, with the two you mentioned right behind it.

*Isaiah Rashad - Heavenly Father*
(please, you won't regret it. he's part of TDE)
Isaiah Rashad is very necessary! Heavenly Father or Wats Wrong would be so cool to see a reaction to
Right?! I think Heavenly Father is the perfect introduction to Isaiah Rashad. It's arguably his best and most popular song on his first mixtape, Cilvia Demo. And in my opinion, the best song to help you understand who he is and where he is coming from. (songs they should do after: 4r Da Squaw, West Savannah, Free Lunch, and Wats Wrong)
Putting in myvote for Wats Wrong, but just any Zay is good with me at this point
I been asking for Zay for weeks, i feel like they both will like his music especially songs on cilvia demo
4r Da Squaw or Heavenly Father are great introduction tracks

If you wanna do old school hip hop beef, listen to "Jay Z - Takeover" then listen to "Nas - Ether" you decide who had the better track.
That ain't old school.
Yeah that aint old and super ugly is way better even blueprint 2
Jordan Williams Nas ended Jay Z
Lildiscount nah he really didnt.

The Notorious BIG had a flow that you could bob your head to. 2Pac's music has more depth and is a lot more diverse though. The Notorious BIG was a better lyricist in Hip Hop's definition of the word where it's about wordplay but 2Pac was a better lyricist in the actual definition of the word where it's about connecting with the listener. That's why I'd say 2Pac is the better overall artist.
6666 Yep. Both are great but Biggie didn’t impact culture the way 2Pac did. And no one really has since besides maybe Kendrick.
6666 I mean, the definition of a lyricist is anyone who writes lyrics to a song. So.
Miguel don’t be so pedantic. Everyone here knows what he meant. You’re trying to correct him yet you’re acting like you can’t pull a simple meaning from the context. Get over yourself my dude.
Haut Strange he said “in the actual definition of the word”. Implying that the actual definition states something about connecting with the listener, when it really doesn’t. I’m not being pedantic. It’s just that most people use the word wrong.
FACTS. Well said

Hit em up was not actually a response to who shot ya. Big wrote the song before pac was shot at the recording stu in NY. IT IS A FUCKING GREAT SONG THO GOOD SUGGESTION

I've heard so many Metal heads react to Tupac and say so many great things about him.. This is from 2pacs first solo album, it shows his emotion and the power of his speech. Amazing song.
This is what made Tupac so loved. He kept shit real, he didn’t give a fuck about what anyone thought. He spoke how he felt. Didn’t hold nothing back

Do you realize the end when he's talking shit, that he's still rapping, it's called talk and spit.... The most difficult thing to do in rap. I've only heard 3 people do it ever and only one was mainstream. Listen he rhyme every sentence
Pac is King. Never be another Makaveli again. Great reaction.
I see you added "SICKO MODE" to the Spotify, will a reaction be coming soon?
For another great diss track I highly recommend Ice Cube - No Vaseline. Goes after his old crew N.W.A, it's pretty nasty and is by far one of the greatest diss tracks of all time.
Also, I always interpreted it to mean Bad Boys ARE the kids. Tupac isn’t going to kill children - that’s never been his MO to rap about. So, “My 44 make sure all y’all kids don’t grow.” Means he’ll kill Bad Boys before they grow, not their kids. I could be wrong, just my interpretation.

Its good to see people from outside the rap listening community reconize Pacs talent and they are right he was a born leader at 25. Just a natural. pac and the outlaws wrote this song and recorded it in 1 take on the same day. He wrote most of his songs like that. He wrote dear mama on the toilet while taking care of his morning business. And the best thing about him was he was honest. Good, bad, and otherwise, he was true like no one else.

Tupac was invited to a recording session with Biggie and Puffy. Hw was shot 5 times in the elevator. He blamed them for setting him up. This track was released after he was released from hospital. This drew the line in the sand and created the beef.
Not quite. Remember, Biggie dropped Who Shot Ya and Pac dropped this in response. Biggie always stated it wasn't about Pac, though.
2:54 was beautifully hilarious. Simon going "wtf" and Jon just rocking to the beat XD damn.
What I like about the song, which you guys touched on in the video, is that the anger feels real and he's rapping it well. It may just be because 2Pac was known to record his stuff as soon as it came to him (like, within a days), but it's common practice today to write and record much later.

So from what i know, 2Pac was going to a recording session one night and was shot 5 times when entering an elevator. He lived after being shot 5 times and believed biggie was behind it all, but there was no real proof. It wasn't until biggie released a track off his debut album titled "Who shot ya" that 2pac really believed that biggie was trying to kill him hence the line in Hit em up " 5 shots couldn't drop me I took it and smiled" and also "who shot me? but you punks didn't finish now you about to feel the wrath of a menace".
If you think about it. It was really an East Coast vs East Coast beef. The Outlawz were from New Jersey & Tupac was originally from Harlem. He didn't move to California until he was 17.
The song samples Dennis Edwards' Don't Look Any Further with the bass line.
