Reminds me of family. Uncle Richard took Aunt Rita's ashes everywhere until he passed. He'd pull up to our picnics, leave her wedged between the seats, open the car door & yell out, "Say Hi to Aunt Reet."

You're mistaken about the timing of the last films and Kilbride's death. The last Ma and Pa film, which Kilbride was not in, came out in 1957. Kilbride died in 1964.
