Stella unfiltered is quite a difference from the regular UK stella it's actually drinkable.
That's saying a lot for Stella.
Yeah it’s a really good lager, much more body, freshness and bitterness. It’s miles apart from the regular wife beater. Does anyone remember the smoked beer that Stella brought out, must be about 15 years ago?
AB inbev and Molson Coors aren’t the same company, they’re rivals! Look forward to trying the staropramen unfiltered sounds like a nice drop. I’ve had the Stella and that was lovely and this sounds even better

Stella unfiltered is brewed in the UK but is actually nice enough, just shows abinbev can brew something drinkable.
Stella Unfiltered is owned and brewed by Ab InBev and Staropramen by Molson Coors or have I missed something?

Good video, I saw the unfiltered staropramen in Asda the other day and picked 1 up, wish I'd have bought a whole trolley full it was delicious. Went Tesco Extra earlier and unfortunately not in their will have to go Asda again soon.
Am a big fan of the unfiltered Stella definitely beats the standard 4.6% which has become undrinkable in my opinion.
Still miss Hop House 13 which sadly isn't available in England anymore😔
I just bought a case 12 of Stella unfiltered from Aldi for £14 so a couple in the fridge and will taste later.

I'm loving this lager comparison series! Do more! How about comparing similar amber and dark beer styles in the autumn? These "battles of the brands" are interesting and replicate what going to a beer festival is all about. I tried the Stella unfiltered and thought it was OK but haven't bought it again. Not sure this is my favourite style though I appreciate the quality of the beers. I prefer unfiltered wheat beer.

I'm new to this channel, as a Scotsman Im mainly a Tennants lager drinker but always interested in other more exotic beers. Seems like a top bloke. Cheers.
Should give Overtone a go. Craft Brewery in Glasgow but considered one of the best in the uk.

I tried some unfiltered stella last week I liked the hops as i had to look at the can to see if it had a hint of citrus 😅 because it’s very citrusy! Bet it’s nicer out the bottle! It’s way nicer than normal Stella.
Bottled beer and canned beer are USUALLY the same beer.. But the canned one doesn't go skunky while the bottled one makes you think you're more fancy.

I will have to look out from the Staropramen, maybe I'll nip down to Asda next weekas Morrisons dont stock it. My corner shop stocks the Stella and its one of my go-tos. The aroma of Saaz when you open the bottle is a delight.
Got a few bottles of the Staropramen unfiltered in my local supermarket here in Ireland tonight spotted it and said I will have to give it a try fantastic stuff really smooth top of the range I would say.

Have you tried the Peroni Gran Reserva beers? If not, I strongly recommend.
Orange, cloudy, nice foam decorating the glass. The aroma is wheat, Polish orchard and coriander. The taste is sweet, slightly bitter. It looks like yast bits littered bottom of the glass, bottle conditioned? Good beer!
Just picked up a bottle of Staropramon in Asda to glad to see it's good.
Tried the Staropramen a while back. I like an unfiltered but i found this to be way too thick,. I'll go back to this and try it again.
both are very tasty offerings...and good to see stella getting a bit of flavour back as was a go to beer back when i was a kid...wonder if this unfiltered macro lager thing is going to develop into a bit of a trend? be an interesting way to bring back 5% grolsch!
Not even going to lie, I love Stella Unfiltered. It's my go to summer lager now.

I’ve recently had the unfiltered Staropramen and quite enjoyed it. Will definitely have it again.
Brewed in uk Staropramen is a real headache inducer! Sainsbury's used to do a bottled Czech Pilsner that was brewed by Pivovary Staropramen and it made a mockery of the brewed in uk Staropramen!
I went to the Staropramen brewery in the early 1990s with a bunch of 6th formers for a tour - they still had open vats of beer brewing, at that time. They also did a tasting session afterwards - happy days

Hi Simon, I'm new your channel, this being the 2nd video I've watched. Two of my favourite bottled lagers are Budvar and Pilsner Urquell. I'd like to you compare them.
Had them both and completely agree with your descriptions of both. For me I’m the same as you. The starpo was a my fave and a nice surprise. Cheers

Stella is amazing much better than the normal Stella rubbish,defo my favourite just now,,,,,I’ve noticed that the beer companies have banged up the price of their boxes of beer ,just got a case of 12 in Morrisons at 16 quid ,seems not long ago a case was 10 or 12 at most,.,.anyway they also do the Stella on the perfect draught and it’s excellent .,.
Can't wait to try the Staropramen. Have you ever tried Klosterbrau Helles from Bamberg ? Easily the best lager I've ever tasted.
I think it would be cool to see that kind of series Simon, where you put Birra Morretti against Peroni pr two German lagers going head to head for example. I think it would be very interesting.
I'd like to see a comparison of some of the more popular doppelbocks like Paulaner Salvator vs Spaten Optimator.

Whats the chances that the Staropramen unfiltered gets popular and then they start brewing it in the UK and they ruin it! Theres no way they are going to keep importing it from the Czech Republic

That Staropramen looks the biz. Wasn't keen on the ogirinal uk brewed stuff, like the Stella Unfiltered, would defo give that Staropramen a smashing. Love to see more lager head to heads!
I wandered onto the Stella Unfiltered, having given up long ago on the standard brew in its British incarnation. I probably thought along the lines of "Let's see how they can nause this up, too." But I actually rather liked it. It by no means 'redeems' the brand in my eyes, but yeah, drinkable and a good bit of flavour to it.
Agreed. I am so disappointed with current Stella can’t look at it . Tried unfiltered , much better but still not quite there . I’ve not tried staropramen unfiltered but staropramen my least fav Czech beer .
Yeah Stella was my "go to" foreign lager in the 1980s - I always looked for the imported Belgian version rather than the UK brew from Whitbreads. I gave up on the UK brew a long time ago and even the Belgian brew is not the same as it was all that time ago.

I just begun to watch this channel, mostly by chance but enjoyed your content. At the moment I visit England regularly and if I go to a pub I definitely not order a UK brewed lager - but should be OK with unfiltered Stella, any else I should try ? Have you try any beers from Croatia yet ?
The trouble most pubs have a rubbish British only made lagers. You'll always find 1 pub at least in a big town that will have Budvar on keg. The trouble is it's a big search just for a quality lager

The unfiltered stella is more than ok as a beer , compared to their filtered uk beer. I'am staying for a month just outside Leuven , and the range of beers is heaven... especially the abbey/trappist ones.... though as you know the alc % can be very high.

Staropramen Unfiltered is fantastic. Even better than the normal lager.. I got some from Asda a couple of weeks ago.
Both Stella and Staropramen Unfiltered have a much better flavour.

The Stella unfiltered is a lot better than the standard crap , also i have a request Simon can you please review Spitfire Amber Ale ? I would be interested to see what you think of it as its only £1.45p a bottle and i think its a good beer but what do i know ? Your the expert not me.

I though Stella Unfiltered was just for the UK Market brewed at Camden. Certainly the reviews I saw of it when it first dropped was Camden.
You should review leffe blonde since the percentage has dropped from 6.6 to 6%
Love the series,i really like weissbiers and would love to see a comparison vid say beers from north Germany v south etc
Out of the unfiltered larger i have tired I think Camden unfiltered is the best be great to see you put that up against these and see what one you think is better
I had a very clear beer from the shinny brewery when we had a day out trying beers , and it was quite strange to see , as most beers I drink are hazy etc . How times have changed ,,,,,, for the better . Shinny do some great beers and plenty of great hazy beers . 😄

Have been drinking Staropramen Unfiltered for years since my first visit to Praha. I think it is much closer to the Hefe Weizen beers that I prefer to the Belgian Stella.
Will you be trying the new Leffe Blonde that they've started selling over here? Only 6% instead of 6.6%...
Not really a lager person, but I think I'll give that Staropramen a go.
Had the star over the weekend. Actually, had both. Star was great, really enjoyed. Might have to go to Asda on way home from work

Loved the taste of the Staropramen unfiltered but without drinking it to excess, it gave me a sore head the next day - anyone else find that?
I think Stella unfiltered is slightly nicer and fuller in flavour than Staropramen original....(I haven't tried the unfiltered Staropramen, but after watching this I definitely will)
It gives me hope with the Stella unfiltered a large brewery might have listened to customers.
Aldi do a Czech lager Staropramen imitation, I think it's nicer, directly imported more authentic, the 'dryer' less sugary continental lager taste.
It seems with the unfiltered versions of lager, better quality lager is finally entering the supermarkets, also Aldi M&S and Waitrose in particular are offering directly imported lagers.
I thoroughly enjoyed the unfiltered staropramen when I finally tasted it the other day, could easily make my top 5

Staropramen, used to like it. Now, its skanky, stale, musty, and utterly ghastly. It should be legal to throw bottles back through offlicence windows in protest!
Now only Budvar or Pilsner Urquell for me.
