The Hogwarts crest embellished in wax on the back. 'Take us to Diagon Alley?'
I agree with you about Harry & Ginny's deleted scene, and also I read somewhere that Tom Felton forgot his line so he improvised the dialogue, "I didn't know you could read."
@@locabsgg94 But in the second film this is not the only improvisation, there is another one at the end of the film, Jason Isaacs and Daniel Radcliffe improvised there
@@plague_doctor-scp-049 I don't know, but as far as I remember, this ad-lib was inserted because Jason Isaacs didn't want his character to go away silently. By the way, he himself came up with long hair and a cane for his character
The scene depicting the trio after the boys saved Hermione from the Troll, with Ron saying "that's what friends are for," a nice hint to one of the most significant character development lines in the first book: "...but from that moment on, Hermione Granger became their friend. There are some things you can't share without ending up liking each other, knocking out Mountain Trolls is one of them,"
I read the books before the movies came out, so my memory convolutes the two, not accurately remembering which was which. The movies told the same story in a different form, but left a lot out. Sometimes, it seemed like they were relying on fans of the books to fill in the gaps. The biggest gap I saw in the entire movie franchise was in The Prisoner of Azkaban when leaving out who the "Marauders" were: Padfoot, Tongs, Moony, and Wormtail. That was critical information in the books, and left out of the movies.
@@charlienerd My kids got me into reading the books. I read the first three while they were reading Goblet of Fire, and from then, we always bought multiple copies on release day so no one had to wait their turn.
i watched the movies before reading the books (which i just read this year) and pieced it together between the scenes of the map showing them on it to wormtail being discovered to be there the whole time. it just made sense to me that the 4 were those names. based off the names, it made sense to me who was who. when i finally read the books, i already knew and my suspicions were confirmed.
In a series where the main 9 students consist of 5 Gryffindors, 3 Slytherins, and 1 Ravenclaw, #7 would have been a big moment for members of the "most underappreciated and underutilized" house of Hogwarts in Hufflepuff, whose only times in the spotlight outside of that scene involved Cedric Diggory (including the "Potter Stinks" badges). I'd like to see that house get more screen time in the series reboot.
Yeah the one where Neville defends Harry should definitely have been shown. Neville may not be the brightest but he is a loyal ally. I even more glad Ron was on Harry’s side that time too, because I was pissed when he wasn’t in the Goblet of Fire. It’s not Harry’s fault he’s famous. Ron’s petty jealousy just had to get the best of him. I think during that time Harry should’ve sternly told Ron “You can’t just leave it could you? You don’t even care do you? After everything we’ve been through. Well I’m done with this friendship”
I just listened to the entire Harry Potter series on Audible (for the sixth time)! I also read it to my two youngest children 11 years ago. And now my eldest daughter just read the series to her ten year old! (And as a bonus, they watched all of the movies after they finished reading the books!) I HIGHLY recommend the books to Harry Potter fans if all you've experienced are the movies! A 20 hour Audible book is whittled down to a two hour movie. SOOO many detail are lost. You'll love the books! ❤
The first two movies are the best as they actually respect the source materiel while the last 6 don’t But also, I honestly tell people this is what happens when you have a screenwriter who shouldn’t have been there as Prisoner of Azkaban is the movie that confirmed for me that this is about money not about actually caring about the source material
Thankfully a lot of these scenes have been added into the movies subsequent releases and TV airings. The scene with Snape answering his own questions and mentioning that a Bezoar cures most poisons I am particularly fond of, since its the same method that Harry uses to save Ron from the poison in the 6th movie. When Dumbledore comments on Harry's use of the Bezoar he and Snape lock eyes and Snape has a look of surprise. That moment he realizes that Harry had been paying attention in that first class.
there is an extended version of the first two movies that add alot of them. they changed directors for the rest of them beyond chambers and he chose not to do a extended version
I wish they would have included Molly's encounter with the bogart at Grimmald Place. It would have made the sacrifices made at the battle of Hogwarts more intense. It would have made her battle with Belatrix more satisfying.
Fiona Shaw is a criminally underrated actress, I’ve never seen her give anything less than an amazing performance in everything I’ve ever seen her in. She can switch accents like nobody else as well
Grew up reading the books, and the movies completely destroyed the books. So much was cut, ruined them. I'd rather re-read the books than watch the movies again.
Why is it I remember seeing most of these scenes in the movies? For example, standing over Dobby's grave, I remember the words "Neither am I". When exactly were these scenes deleted?
I Remember seeing a deleted scene in deathly hallows part one as the dursleys leave their home and there is dialogue from Petunia understanding how bad the situation is I really think she was underused as a character in the films. The moment with Ron and Harry you mentioned from philosophers stone made me cry 😿
i really hope they add a lot of these in the reboot tv series... but loads more too. i really love tonks in the books.. and she was reduced to nothing in the movies.. i loved how she was all bright and colourful and then when she was rejected by lupin she became grey and so sad... plus the foreshadowing of the patronus that snape has... with tonks' patronus being a wolf.. because she loves remus, and snapes being a doe because he loved lily.. all of the things in the books being left out.. loads of excellent stuff that makes so much make more sense.
The deleted scenes from STONE and CHAMBER are included in the extended cuts of the films on BluRay. I was really happy to see them included. Especially in CHAMBER. I live in Germany and they decided to cut out major parts of the film to get the rating to age 6 instead of 12. Something like G, PG, PG-13. Really cool to see how Columbus intended the movie to be like.
In the seventh book, Pettigrew died when his own hand strangled him to death. I think I heard this scene was going to be in Part 1, but they couldn't because it would have bumped the movie's rating to R. In fact, I don't think the scene was filmed.
The films do mention a squib...Draco calls Filch a filthy Squib in the Half blood prince at Slughorns party.. a non magical wizard with magical parents
I hope I live long enough to watch "The NEW, ALL DELETED SCENES INCLUDED" in the Collector's Edition of HARRY POTTER!! Sometime in the future! I will surely watch!!
More for scenes that were left out that makes a big difference from the books to the movies. Number one comes to mind is Ginny herself. She has a way better storyline in the books. More understanding of the Harry + Ginny romance. How Ginny was in to him from the 2nd book and how she was always nervous around Harry but then hermonie told her to start going for other boys to help her nerves and make Harry maybe to notice her which by the 6th book created a raging monster inside Harry lol. The first kiss in the book was 1000000x better as Harry had missed the finally quidditch game of the season but Ginny playing seeker caught the snitch and they absolutely killed I think hufflepuff to win the cup and Harry making it to the dorm saw the massive party and him going straight to Ginny and embraced her. Hermione happy and Ron giving the if “if you must” look of approval to him. Sigh. Sorry Bonnie but you got snubbed.
That scene with Petunia in _Deathly Hallows_ should definitely have been left in. We find out that Petunia actually experienced grief when Lily died. This is the first indication we see that Petunia might have loved her sister. Fiona Shaw delivers "I lost a sister" with perfectly suppressed emotion. I get the distinct impression that Petunia and Lily might have been very close when they were children and that Lily has told Petunia a lot about the Wizaeding World (all of which she has been afraid to relate to Vernon). Also, interesting note: in _Order of the Phoenix_ , when Harry tells his aunt and uncle that Dudley has been attacked by dementors, Petunia - without thinking - identifies them as the guardians of Azkaban. When Vernon asks her how she knows this, Petunia - very unconvincingly - says "I heard....her...talking about them....with him." This, I think, is a lie: Lily told Petunia about them when they were close as children.
i was just listening to prisoner of azkabans audiobook... sad they left crookshanks too much, how she's hunting scabbers as peter pettigrew...harry potter is such a comfort series for me, be it books or the movies, thats why im looking forward to its series i hope they will be more faithful to the book❤
I love WatchMojo and all the videos you produce. However, I am curious. Is it possible for you to have a format that allows us to see the cited scene in its entirety? Such as follows: [Narrator numerically identifies and titles selected scene. Narrator describes scene as video displays buildup to selected scene. Narrator is silent while selected scene plays in its entirety. Narrator makes final comments and moves to next scene, ad infinitum.] It would be really nice to see the whole scene without constant overlapping commentary.
The unused Peeves scene is something I’d love to see, as a big Rik Mayall fan. Pretty much every other unused scene has been made available in some form or another, so it’s a bit of a mystery as to why it’s never been put out there. Rik Mayall is on record a number of times talking about how he was in it, and was great in it. He said they had to drop his part because he was so funny in the role that the rest of the cast couldn’t get their lines out for laughing. As a Rik Mayall fan, I find this painful to say. But his explanation doesn’t hold water. There would have been ways around it, if it were true. And, if it were true, it would have made for a brilliant and funny out-take on the DVD special features, so it makes no sense that it’s never been made available to see. I therefore suspect that he may have just been awful, and it’s not being shown out of respect to Rik Mayall. It’s either that, or he was never filmed any of it to start with - Rik Mayall is the only person from the production I’ve ever heard say that he ever did.
I'm not sure what exactly was supposed to be cut because at least half of those scenes are in the movies at least the extended versions on peacock so as far as I'm aware of nothing was really cut maybe a few minor things from the books but that's it. I have not read the books but just speaking my opinion, still enjoy your videos MsMojo
2:24 The movies never mention "squibs"? What about the 6th one when Filch caught Malfoy trying to sneak into Slughorn's party and Malfoy says "Take your hands off me, you filthy squib!"? 🤦♂
Some of these scenes are in the extended versions. To save time & leave one of these better scenes in they could have deleted the stupid line said twice, "Ow Ron! That's my foot." Said by Hermione. It was also after the scene with Snape & Igor talking of their dark marks etc. that Igor just goes missing from the movie. (He wound up dead but I don't recall if it was mentioned in the regular versions that he had been killed.) Meanwhile you see Harry come back inside while Hermione is telling off Ron, no mention where he had been.
27:40. I highly DISAGREE with this post. It is clear you guys didn’t read the books and JK Rowling even says it about how you fans don’t get it. Malfoy was never meant to be redeemable; he was an ass from all books. But the movies keep on portraying him as someone who is being redeemed when that was not the intention for his character!
I do honestly feel like the farewells with the dursleys needed to make it into the films also all of the deleted scenes from the 1st and 2nd movie are in the extended cuts available on RUclips but honestly after the fourth movie they could have made each movie 3 hours long and people like me would have still wanted the director's cut
I really wish they would have filmed and put in Harry mending his wand before destroying the Elder Wand as was in the book. It was so representative of who he is and would have demonstrated that after all he has been through, he still is who he is.
Hmm the letters in eggs and smelting uniform were in the films no? Am I tripping? In fact, all the philosophers stone scenes mentioned were in the movie at least the one I watched.
There weren’t left in on the theatrical releases and were on,y included as extras on the DVDs but I understand that some streaming channels include them, whilst others don’t (for reasons I just don’t understand)

'What is it you want me to do?' Said Harry, smiling kindly at Cass; looking up at Dudley with a very serious look.
Dudley didn't say anything, instead shoved a crumpled envelope towards him. The Hogwarts crest embellished in wax on the back.
'Take us to Diagon Alley?'
Where is this from? Pottermore?
Muggle born? Sounds like dudleys wife was also a witch…
“I don’t think you’re a waste of space.”
Translation: I’m gonna miss you, cousin.
The dynamic needs to continue to justify the plot and actions. Having resolve undoes this
@@Calibrex_Gaming No, I'd rather they add it to any future TV shows/movies so it's more accurate to the book.
I agree with you about Harry & Ginny's deleted scene, and also I read somewhere that Tom Felton forgot his line so he improvised the dialogue, "I didn't know you could read."
Yeep, this is true xD
@@locabsgg94 But in the second film this is not the only improvisation, there is another one at the end of the film, Jason Isaacs and Daniel Radcliffe improvised there
what was his actual line
@@plague_doctor-scp-049 I don't know, but as far as I remember, this ad-lib was inserted because Jason Isaacs didn't want his character to go away silently. By the way, he himself came up with long hair and a cane for his character
The scene depicting the trio after the boys saved Hermione from the Troll, with Ron saying "that's what friends are for," a nice hint to one of the most significant character development lines in the first book:
"...but from that moment on, Hermione Granger became their friend.
Same I grew up as the books came out
@@charlienerd My kids got me into reading the books.
Yep my kids haven't read the books & they still can't figure out any of the movies.
30:47 "Which scene do you wish had been kept in?"
Me: A L L O F T H E M
Gutted they cut peeves out rik mayall would have had everyone in stitches with that character!😂
“I don’t appreciate the insinuation, Longbottom…”😂💀🙌😭
still think snape calling lily a mudblood should have been in the movie
Great video love watching all the deleted scenes ❤
Yeah the one where Neville defends Harry should definitely have been shown. Neville may not be the brightest but he is a loyal ally. I even more glad Ron was on Harry’s side that time too, because I was pissed when he wasn’t in the Goblet of Fire. It’s not Harry’s fault he’s famous. Ron’s petty jealousy just had to get the best of him. I think during that time Harry should’ve sternly told Ron “You can’t just leave it could you? You don’t even care do you? After everything we’ve been through. Well I’m done with this friendship”
It would have been neat to see Harry and Dudley begin to Bury the hatchet, and actually start to get along, after everything they've been through.
I think Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks’ reuniting with each other shouldn’t have been cut from the movie❤
I like that after everything was said and done, Dudley sent cards to Harry on important occasions, they still kept in touch.
I just listened to the entire Harry Potter series on Audible (for the sixth time)! I also read it to my two youngest children 11 years ago. And now my eldest daughter just read the series to her ten year old! (And as a bonus, they watched all of the movies after they finished reading the books!)
I HIGHLY recommend the books to Harry Potter fans if all you've experienced are the movies! A 20 hour Audible book is whittled down to a two hour movie. SOOO many detail are lost. You'll love the books! ❤
The first two movies are the best as they actually respect the source materiel while the last 6 don’t
But also, I honestly tell people this is what happens when you have a screenwriter who shouldn’t have been there as Prisoner of Azkaban is the movie that confirmed for me that this is about money not about actually caring about the source material
Totally agree. Books first hopefully too
the books were amazing and so glad i read them all before the movies... i remember even queuing at the shopping centre to get the books early lol
I loved the scene where Aunt Petunia tells Harry that he didn't lose his mother that Halloween, she lost her sister.
Dudley’s redemption and Draco tossing Harry his wand should have both been in the Final Cut.
Dudley’s redemption happened in the books.
I think a special dvd release with all the deleted scenes replaced in the movie would be a special tribute.
there is an extended version of the first two movies that add alot of them. they changed directors for the rest of them beyond chambers and he chose not to do a extended version
I wish they would have included Molly's encounter with the bogart at Grimmald Place. It would have made the sacrifices made at the battle of Hogwarts more intense. It would have made her battle with Belatrix more satisfying.
I would have liked to see where Harry Potter uses the elder wand to fix his own wand that got broken by hermnie by accident
100% agree with your 1# pick. Remus and Tonks forever! ❤️
Trelawney listening to Umbridge and making vomit sounds is the best.
Sir Cadogan was my favorite portrait.
Fiona Shaw is a criminally underrated actress, I’ve never seen her give anything less than an amazing performance in everything I’ve ever seen her in. She can switch accents like nobody else as well
She's actually pretty famous...
The howler Petunia got should have been in the movies
The scene with aunt Petunia and Dudley would have been perfect ❤❤❤
Harry Potter is a staple in my childhood and it always brings back great memories every time I rewatch the series.
Does anyone else remember seeing these when they watched the movies
I do for sure, especially the scene when Harry and Ron run into Crabbe and Goyle
Extended cuts have those scenes.
Yes! I thought I was going crazy for a bit LOL
Yes! Especially 1 & 2, if you look the extended version almost all of those scenes are there.
Every single one of these could have 100% have been used over other time that was retained.. Glad we got to see them here!
That was really good :) Thank you
I've always thought Dudley's good bye to Harry was a critical point in the books. I still can't figure out why they cut that scene
They are making extended versions of all of the Harry Potter movies!!!🎉
Grew up reading the books, and the movies completely destroyed the books. So much was cut, ruined them. I'd rather re-read the books than watch the movies again.
Why is it I remember seeing most of these scenes in the movies? For example, standing over Dobby's grave, I remember the words "Neither am I". When exactly were these scenes deleted?
Maybe ur getting a bit confused from the books?
its in the extended version which if you have hbo max shows deleted scenes while watching the movie like they were never deleted. its nice
I remember ALOT of these too. I got the original & blue ray. But there's a few scenes I remember. Hhmm
I Remember seeing a deleted scene in deathly hallows part one as the dursleys leave their home and there is dialogue from Petunia understanding how bad the situation is
I really think she was underused as a character in the films.
The moment with Ron and Harry you mentioned from philosophers stone made me cry 😿
i really hope they add a lot of these in the reboot tv series... but loads more too. i really love tonks in the books.. and she was reduced to nothing in the movies.. i loved how she was all bright and colourful and then when she was rejected by lupin she became grey and so sad... plus the foreshadowing of the patronus that snape has... with tonks' patronus being a wolf.. because she loves remus, and snapes being a doe because he loved lily.. all of the things in the books being left out.. loads of excellent stuff that makes so much make more sense.
this is why we need the series coming out...the movies cut out or changed an insane amount from book 3 on..movies are trash if you read the books
The reason why the mirror is called erised is because backwards it’s is spelled desire
There is a passing mention about Filch being a squib. It happens rarely, and is never stressed, and so, is impossibly easy to miss.
The version of Sorcerer's Stone that I watched for the first time had all the deleted scenes included. I can't find that version anywhere.
I think I can live without any of those, except for the "I'm with you" scene 💔💔💔
Anyone else remember seeing these scenes in the movies?
I would of loved to see dobby working in the hogwarts kitchens
I would've loved to have seen every deleted scene minus the rabbit hunting scene
The films do mention a squib...Draco calls Filch a filthy Squib in the Half blood prince at Slughorns party.. a non magical wizard with magical parents
I feel sad for anyone who hasn’t seen these scenes, they are all on the original dvds and makes the movies more complete.
❤Thanks for Thais video of fund and awesome recolection of Potterness.
I swear I saw some of these scenes in theaters the first time I watched the movie. I at least saw most of these on TV.
I wished they keep the scene where Draco throw his wand to Harry! Always loved Draco!
i was just listening to prisoner of azkabans audiobook... sad they left crookshanks too much, how she's hunting scabbers as peter pettigrew...harry potter is such a comfort series for me, be it books or the movies, thats why im looking forward to its series i hope they will be more faithful to the book❤
2:23 Actually one of the movies did mention the word squib, it’s just never defined in the movie
I would like to see these movies again with these deleted scenes!
I love WatchMojo and all the videos you produce. However, I am curious. Is it possible for you to have a format that allows us to see the cited scene in its entirety? Such as follows:
[Narrator numerically identifies and titles selected scene.
Narrator describes scene as video displays buildup to selected scene.
Narrator is silent while selected scene plays in its entirety.
Narrator makes final comments and moves to next scene, ad infinitum.]
It would be really nice to see the whole scene without constant overlapping commentary.
On Peacock they have all the extended versions with deleted scenes included
Thank you!
I have not read the books but just speaking my opinion, still enjoy your videos MsMojo
that scene with daco and harry deathly hallows part 2 i wish they kept that in
2:24 The movies never mention "squibs"? What about the 6th one when Filch caught Malfoy trying to sneak into Slughorn's party and Malfoy says "Take your hands off me, you filthy squib!"? 🤦♂
I would love it if Wanner Brothers Discovery would release the films with all delete scenes edited back into the spot they would take out.
I think some of the deleted scenes in this list was included in the WB cable channel like when Dumbledore and Harry were leaving the cave
For the first 2 movies if you get the ultimate edition it has the theatrical version and the extended version with the deleted scenes put back in
A lot of these are in the extended editions and are really worth the 2-almost 3 hours per film
Oddly - all these scenes were put back in the versions that are played on TBS, SYFY, E, USA etc - but not when you watch the moveis on HBO.
I thought these scenes seemed familiar
they were put into the extended uncut versions of harry potter if i recall they were never released to disc in the original films
Didn’t realize these were deleted as the versions I have seen have all of them in
The scene from Goblet (with Snape) is actually on the Peacock version
I have seen most of these scenes in tv versions of the movies.
23:05
The spell name is Locomotor Mortis.
I want ALL the scenes that were left out!!!
A lot of these scenes are shown if you watch them on Peacock. Before I saw this video I was saying to myself “hmmm I don’t remember this part” 😂
I miss them all!
Best birthday present ever ❤❤❤❤❤
I hope that you have many more happy, healthy and prosperous birthdays.

Aunt Petunia is not a squib
I was thinking the same. To be a squib she’d have needed to be born of magic parents, which she wasn’t.
Some of these scenes are in the extended cuts on Peacock
Hmm the letters in eggs and smelting uniform were in the films no? Am I tripping? In fact, all the philosophers stone scenes mentioned were in the movie at least the one I watched.
There weren’t left in on the theatrical releases and were on,y included as extras on the DVDs but I understand that some streaming channels include them, whilst others don’t (for reasons I just don’t understand)
I didn't realize most of thess scenes were included in the 2018 non stop special on AMC that I recorded... I've seen all of thess.
I didn't know you could read was improvised as well :D
