    What prop are you running and what rpm?

      This video is a 24” Trophy on the 5800rpm limiter, I’ve run a little faster with a 25” Tempest and 25” Fury on the limiter. All done in colder weather and solo, hope that helps.

    Is your in-dash's transducer mounted in your bilge?

    • @vegaman72
      @vegaman72  2 года назад

      No, I believe it’s in the drain area around the seats as it looses signal around 50mph when getting on the final pad.

      @@vegaman72 Okay, I did notice that. I had a Skeeter Starfire back in the day that had a bit of a cup in the pad that started about 18 inches forward of the transom. It was designed to trap air under the pad to give lift (my unknowing partners would grab at the grab handles in fear when the boat "jumped" onto that last pad). BCB's are known for their lift and speed, I wonder if yours has that air-trapping cup, which may be causing interference.

      I could move the transducer further towards rear of the boat where the hull is still in the water to get a signal, but if I’m going that fast it isn’t in an area of the lake where I’m not concerned about the depth.

      Probably true. At that speed only the depth matters. I mounted an "old school" flasher on my dash with the transducer in the rear of the bilge only for high speed depth readings. Neon flashers give instantaneous depth readings without the delay associated with pixel advancement. Today's units don't have so much of a delay as the older units, so its probably not so critical that you have an immediate depth reading. In my fishing areas you can run from 30 feet into 5 feet immediately without seeing it unless you have the immediate reading of a flasher.

      @@vegaman72 did the bow sink much when having 2 people on the front deck?

      Depends on how heavy they are I’d say and if someone is in the rear to counter balance, it has a middle seat for second person and the front person is farther forward than most boats.
