Port job is the first thing to do on a banshee. Go 115 thousands higher on the exhaust port. 160 thousands higher on the intake ports. Unshroud the transfer ports without narrowing it towards the intake inlets. Case port it to match the bottom of cylinders. Worm hole cylinders without ruining them or you will need to weld the hole by the rear base nuts. Should add 2-3 thousand rpm to your redline.😃
fatty pipes, porting, 35mm carbs, advance the timing 4 degrees, stronger clutch springs, ceramic clutch release ball to prevent welding, k&n clamp on filter with outwears, have the shifter star modified for smoother shifts, and have the flywheel machined to lighten it. mine was also a 370 long rod. pulled 5th gear wheel stands going downhill in the sand. real fun adrenaline rush!
I got the Lectron Carb on my banshee but I did the conversion of a single carb instead of two, I like the set up because only one carb to tune and only one air filter!
Fmf pipe good power 😂 and a lockup before 70hp its completely useless... Top 5 parts are ; pipe , carbs pwk , air filter direct , coolhead and ajustable timing plate !
Yeah really though you probably are fine with stock clutch unless u get a big bore or stroker kit. But coolhead and adjustable timing plate is def a solid route to go
Sounds amazing dude, need a little help , i just got my banshee and i am new to it. I want to ask you about the premix ratio of petrol and oil, and can you please tell me that in liters, like 1 litre oil in how much liters petrol i should mix. I bought yamaha lube .
You want belray MC1 at a ratio of 40 parts fuel to one part oil, assuming your top end is not brand new. (32:1 if breaking in a new top end) invest in a 'ratio rite' cup for mixing fuel.
I have a 97 banshee and I’m having a hard time tuning my carbs . I’ve cleaned both carbs & jets she starts in one kick but sometimes she bogs out … can you recommend how to tune ?? The TORS are removed she runs good but after a while she starts to bog out .. any help would be appreciated @Rocky Mountain ATV MC
what exhaust boots / clamps are those one the fmf pipes to the mufflers? i keep melting the rubber ones you buy off ebay or amazon. and i don't see them on the site under exhaust for a 1997 banshee
You can measure the air filter you have on now or the diameter of your carburetor where the clamp on filter would go. On the product page there are many different sizes so you can find something that will work for your set up. www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/k-%26-n-clamp-on-air-filter-p
Hey if I take off my stock air box and put uni air pods on my banshee do I have to re jet my carbs or will my bike be fine with just installing uni pods?
This quad has the Tusk Adjustable Width Racing Axle to give it the wider stance. You can check that out here: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/tusk-adjustable-width-racing-axle-p We do not have an ETA on the Tusk Extendable Rear Wheel Hubs but you can enter your email on the product page (www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/tusk-extended-rear-wheel-hubs-p ) to be notified when they are back in stock.
Yes we can ship to Ireland. Some manufacturers have restrictions on what we can export but if you have any questions feel free to email sales@rockymountainatv.com and we'd be happy to help!
Rocky Mountain ATV MC I’m aware but including a lockout clutch as a top 5 performance mod just based off add pipes airbox carb mods is misleading. A lockout isn’t needed at all for simple bolt on mods. My banshee has airbox opened up single 35mm carb intake reeds pipes and cool head with 21cc domes for 93 pump gas and my clutch is still totally stock and doesn’t slip at all and doesn’t even have upgraded springs. Just my opinion, I’d have had suspension and widening as my number 1 performance mod as banshees suck bad in comparison with the new 450’s for handling.
@@rmatvmc 4 mils do just fine with a driveline clutch kit w/ HD springs and Type F ATF. Much cheaper that way. Those lockout case covers that are required when using the lockout are $$$
@@buckeyebanshee Those are good tips. What have you done to your suspension? I can't believe how rough these things feel haha. I rode a bone stock banshee the same day as this one and if you weren't on butter smooth sand, it was a rough ride.-Chase

believe it or not, im actually looking for an airbox now.. I live in PA and everywhere you go theres puddles everywhere, my filters sucked in water and shut it all down
If you aren't riding desert or dunes and need some torque, the banshee really responds well to is a single carb and single pipe along with RD400 rods and stock Banshee pistons (not blaster pistons or striker cranks if you want torque and reliability) Motofast did it the best but unfortunately they are out of business. They built engines for Grand National Cross Country riders Kim Kuhnle and Ricky Matteson. If you can find a Motofast single carb manifold or single pipe, buy it immediately.
Great point. You are correct, even though it'll cost at least a few hundred dollars it's definitely still a great bang for your buck when you want more power. Thanks for the input, Claude!

When properly set up, yes! I plan to mainly trail ride my mostly stock 1996 Banshee. All I have done is a 4 degree timing advance, shift improvement mods, a billet water pump gear, case saver, and a Pro-Design filter. It still lugs around pretty well the the stock carbs and pipes when tuned right. But when you want the power roll onto the throttle or blip the clutch and gas it and it's there!
those Top 5 Yamaha Banshee Performance Accessories in the video are only a drop in the ocean. the real performance problem of the banshee is its totally shit engine. a 350ccm two cylinder 2 stroke engine "pushing" out only 34 hp is an absolute shame. it should have at least 70 hp. at least. 35 hp per 175ccm cylinder is still very weak. the short piston stroke in comparison to the 64mm bore is shit. the squeezed together siamese cylinders are shit because there is not enough space for decent inner transfer ports. the cylinders are shit too. no aux exhaust ports. shitty transfer ports (not only the already mentioned inners). the engine is a cylinder reed engine. it should be a case reed engine. forget about your fmf pipe, vforce, cool head and big carb and airbox tuning. it may help a little. but as i said....its a drop in the ocean because they do not adress the REAL issues of the engine. the banshee engine is ancient and lame. a decent two cylinder 350ccm two stroke would make an easy 100HP. when i was young i was totally fascinated by those banshees and their for me mystic engines. because back then i believed the idiots telling me, that their fmf piped banshees make 75 hp. by now i know of course, that those 75 hp numbers were fairy tails. and those "mystic" twin 350 banshee engine is total garbage. the way to go is a custom engine case, which allows to fit modern cylinders. and by the way...the banshee at 400lbs is much too heavy.
I would also do +4 timing advance, a cheap performance mod
Keep the banshees videos coming! If I see anymore banshee videos, I’m going to have to buy and build another 421 cub

Hard to say till you do it. But anytime you potentially add more airflow, your jetting will change so it's a good chance you'll need to re-jet.

With high compreshon and FMF pipes it will blow up so fast

Only if you're not jetted correctly. Higher compression will also require bigger jetting.
