This is how it's done this is a gem of a 90s action flick they don't make action movies like this anymore this final confrontation between Tommy Lee Jones and Jeff Bridges is just epic
I know they say about top movie explosions, but in my sincere judgment the final explosion scene in Blown away has downright been the most spoectacular for me.
Here's a bit of movie trivia. The dog that played Boomer was named Woody in real life. The scene with Tommy Lee Jones carrying that bike across those creosote beams threw me into nostalgia and I spent months digging into the locations throughout the movie.
Suppsoedly - the original accents were good TlJ with classic Country Irish and Jeff B with Boston Irish. Test screenings reported that the accents were too thick and people had trouble hearing - so the dialogue was redone to make it easier to understand. Similar Situation happens with Banes Original Voice in dark knight rises You can find the brief audio clips from the IMAX prologue on RUclips and there is a difference
One of the best performances in this movie, in my own humble opinion anyway was in fact the young Forest Whitaker as Anthony Franklin. Sure Jeff Bridges was good as was his father Lloyd Bridges but I thought Whitaker did his film career no harm at all. Tommy Lee Jones although a good actor is a known bully and a miserable so-so. Jeff Bridges, I like and he's got a good sense of humour. Like Richard Gere, Bridges has found an inner peace by becoming a Buddhist.
I literally only went to make a comment because I wanted to mention just how bad it is. It is absolutely horrendous. There is not a county in Ireland where people speak like that. It's almost a parody of a parody of an Irish accent.
It was never explained how or even if he knew the bouncing Betty was fake. Because if it was real there wouldn’t be anything left of either one of them above the waist.
I think Ryan's behaviour could have given it away, acting so carelessly around a live mine, ready to go boom. I mean, Ryan would know all too well the devastating effect of the Betty in such close quarters, right? Also, Ryan should be taking into account that he had just told Liam his family is in immediate danger, meaning Liam would be willing to sacrifice himself just to take Ryan out for revenge and to stop him for harming anyone else. Last, but not least, Liam knew Ryan had been stalking him for some time and since Liam used a dummy Betty on his students, what would be the odds Ryan saw that and borrowed the idea?
The best explosion in a movie. No CGI here.

Tommy Lee Jones doesn't really talk like an Irish man
@@robtru84 no he doesn't and it's hilarious to see him try though
6:05 - Now THAT'S an Entrance!!
I still love this whole scene

definitely the best explosion ever
The plane explosion from Die Hard 2 is better
Jesus christ it's like the explosion doesn't end.
Unlike the others, this one is a Rube-Goldberg machine.
Why does Jimmy handcuff himself to Gaerity?
More like underrated gem

An underrated film.
awesome movie. awesome actors. incredible!
Para mí la mejor escena de esa película es cuando se fuga de la cárcel
TLJ had one of the funniest Irish accents in cinema.

Before the V For Vendetta 1812 explosion, there was the Blown Away 1812 explosion.
Omg. I just Love this Movie. No idea about the accents, i‘m German
Love Tommy Lee Jones Jeff Bridges Forest Whitaker
He used quite a bit of quicksilver to initiate his bomb sequence.
7:24 the shock wave move the camera
i think this is the best movie explotion
And they did it for real #noCGI
in the mask of zorro the had an quite equal explosion (shockwave hits camera)
love this movie
Villain: "Yes, my best bomb, it runs through 100 times more useless shit instead of just blowing it up"
Yes thank u I miss this movie
Esta película la vi yo por primera vez en el año 2002 y me sigue gustando porque es una gran película de acción de explosivos 💣
the best scene of all time love to see the big blow up like fireworks
i would have wasted Ryan right where he sat, but then again if he dies Liam wouldn't have known there was a live bomb inside his wifes jeep
To be fair, if he shot him the bomb wouldn't have been activated. Remember he turned it on AFTER he took his gone from him.
You should post more for this movie :)
Agent k at his finest👍
Las verdaderas películas
So "Agent Kay" before joining MiBs & starting fresh had a bit of an "explosive past". 😉😎😃
Esta película se hizo en Estados Unidos en el año 1994
👏👏👏👏👏
Anybody else notice Jimmy and Ryan are wearing similar outfits?

Irish people, I know you're very sensitive about Irish accents in Hollywood films. How's Tommy Lee Jones' accent?
Utter shite

Thanks for the answer. I was wondering too.
Agreed: it’s spectacularly dreadful.
Josh Witte 🤣🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏

Is there a dark setting I can use?
The shock wave would have killed them! There no way of surviving that giant explosion.
2:18 was that actual footage from A&E or did the producers just superimpose the logo over the footage ?
poor tommy
tommy had it coming
Tommy is fine.
Ryan Gaerity, on the other hand...well, you don't have to tell him to go to Hell. Hell came to Boston to take him.
The villian always go down especially a sick sadistic bomber
I'd do this in a movie only i would never play the villian i like playing the good guy role
well i wonder what is that liquid look liku mercurium
Not everyone born and raised in Ireland sounds like Leprechaun.
