  • 'The Lost World: Jurassic Park' (1997) was directed by Steven Spielberg. It is the first of two sequels to 'Jurassic Park'. The film was based on the novel of same name by Michael Crichton. There are some notable differences however between the novel and the film.
In the film Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) is contacted once again by John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) CEO of InGen the company behind Jurassic Park. Hammond tells Malcolm that his former girlfriend Sarah Harding (Julianne Moore) has left for Isla Sorna to study the dinosaurs that inhabit that island. Malcolm, who has seen what can happen around dinosaurs, joins a team of researchers to see her to safety. But what Malcolm doesn't know is that there is a second team going to the island, however they aren't there for research. Under the leadership of Hammond's nephew Peter Ludlow (Arliss Howard) and professional hunter Roland Tembo (Pete Postlethwaite) this team wants to capture the dinosaurs.
The music was again composed and conducted by John Williams who already created a magical soundtrack for 'Jurassic Park'. 'The Lost World' however is more primal.
'The Lost World: Jurassic Park' and its music belong to Universal Pictures.

WOW!! I'm amazed you remembered "Stan Winston", who passed away after a long battle with cancer. His effect shop was responsible for the "live-action" (animatronics) dinosaurs in all three films. Followed by Michael Chricton (creator of the Jurassic Park & Lost World books), who passed away from complications related to cancer as well.
