    So, about the betrayal in Atlantis:
    It was premeditated, but they changed their mind after spending time with Milo and the Atlanteans. You can see it in scenes like when they first arrive at Atlantis, with Helga saying "A living civilization? This changes everything" and all the scenes of them with the Atlanteans that showed how they grew to know and like each other. It wasn't necessarily the speech Milo gave, but they were expecting barren ruins with the crystal. Instead, it was a living civilization, and they couldn't just leave everybody there to die, including Milo.

    • @AluminumFusion22
      @AluminumFusion22 Год назад +21

      When they saw there was a living civilization, they didn't feel confident about their mission anymore. That's what makes the commander the standout villain; he couldn't care less about the Atlantians.

    • @brandonlyon730
      @brandonlyon730 4 месяца назад +1

      @@AluminumFusion22 It’s weird Considering they probably would get rich and famous anyway for finding a lost civilization, nor they didn't they just demand them to show there treasure vaults and see if they have huge stacks of gold from r them to take and not have to kill anyone, they literally just give them a bunch of treasure in the end for there help and got filthy rich from that. I makes the whole villain plot feel pointless and stupid to cause so much death and destruction when they’re already easy way to get rich with this whole thing.

    I JUST REALIZED. You could make The Good Dinosaur INFINITELY more interesting if Arlo was a carnivore, like a velociraptor or an allosaur or whatever, and he had to stop himself from eating the caveman kid out of desperation. The title would have made so much more sense and it would have created an interesting dilemma for the character.

      I see what you're saying, but there's *one little problem* with this plot...
      ...
      Why wouldn't he be allowed to just eat the kid? He's a carnivore, if he has no other options... hell, even if he did have other options, probably no one would care what he did with the kid.
      This is basically SharkTale, but honestly, the better way to do it would be for the carnivore to wanna eat fish instead of mammals or other dinosaurs (to make this work, it wouldn't be a dino that already eats fish, it'd be like a T-Rex or something), but the other dinosaurs are trying to peer pressure the carnivore to just eat the kid because "it's what they were born to do", and then it'd have a moral about how you don't have to do what you don't want to do for the sake of others' happiness.
      Laugh, but I'd watch that. It'd most likely be "SharkTale, but not basically shit".

    • @danielgaming2223
      @danielgaming2223 2 года назад +28

      @@ethnictendo I have to agree here, and I think there could also be a really interesting opportunity there. Hear me out, but I don't really think I've seen this done much in Disney and Pixar. If Arlo was a T-Rex or Allosaurus (Although my vote would be a Ceratosaurus, those really don't get a lot of love in media) and had to resort to eating fish, the opportunity to have him be seriously terrified of water (Another thing about T-Rex, it's been discovered that they were actually exceptional swimmers), since Arlo's father was killed in a flash-flood. It could be really cool to see Spot teach Arlo fishing, especially if Spot taught him first how to do it without getting his feet wet, or maybe how to check for flooding before it reaches them. It could work something like the rumble and vibration of a train on train tracks before it's in view.
      I also think the Good Dinosaur would be a billion times better if the dinosaurs were realistic, and not just blobs with a weird amount of detail in their wrinkling.
      I find it rather pathetic that the comments on a RUclips video have better story ideas than the writers working for Pixar Studios. Just a thought, though.

    The problem with Treasure Planet and why it did so poorly was literally because Disney was actively trying to kill off 2D animation. It wasn't as profitable and apparently the person who was working on the creation of that movie was trying so hard to get it out, and it was a huge fight, and they let it happen, but advertised it so poorly, and gave it so little resources to succeed, it was forced to fail to show everyone that "2D animation is dead."
    I think it was really good. I loved the aesthetic so much!

    • @KeybladeMasterAndy

      It was more than one person who were fighting for that movie. Ron and John.
      Anyway, they did poorly market it. I don't know if Disney was ACTIVELY trying to kill 2D animation, but for a company that loves to taut it's own legacy in the industry, they've certainly been questionable about it.

      It and Atlantis both had that problem. Atlantis frankly had it worse for ONE reason. Disney didn't want it made in the first place, they full on sabotaged it and it showed....Treasure Planet had some bad stuff behind the scenes but Disney was at least interested in the concept. Whereas Atlantis they kept telling them no, over and over before finally letting them make that one after being told they would quit if they didn't get to.

Winnie the Pooh (2011) is a huge example. He put that film near the bottom of the list despite the fact it does what it sets out to do really well. It is made solely to be charming, whimsical tale with little story or character development. It is solely focused on just taking you into this film’s world for little bit to enjoy some time there. His near sole focus on Character development prevents him from seeing other aspects that this film (and many others) do really well at.

EVE's directive is "find plantlufe, bring to captain" and she eventually goes against her programming, putting WALL-E's well-being above her programmed purpose.
    Auto doesn't do this. It's not for anything he wants, or that there's something he gets out of doing so, it's that he was given an order, and so he MUST carry it out. Auto's programming is working perfectly, he's a computer following the commands he was given.

      @@generalgrievous3731 To be fair, it has been a while since I watched but for me honestly, I prefer the most serious tone of the first one, it made the emotion more genuine and sad. While the premise of the sequel isn't bad (further developing their friendship as kids which was quite rush in the original), I feel like the tone doesn't fit, it is way to goofy, I would have prefered a more innocent and down to earth mood for the movie. By this I don't having no comedy, but I feel the one they used for the sequel just took away from their sort of tragic yet very realistic relationship. On top of that if I recall correctly in the sequel there were a bunch of singing dogs wich took up most of the screentime and weren't really interesting nor they served any real purpose to make the bond between Tod and Copper stronger, which is the core aspect of both stories.
      However, this is all my own opinion and I'm glad you can enjoy the sequel, it is just not for me.I myself like Disney films that are generally considered bad such as Sword in the Stone or the Aladdin sequels.

Like Oliver and company was my ish growing up 😂 I was born in 94 though so I grew up in the 90s golden age of Disney with mermaid-treasure planet era being what was new and hot. So I was able to appreciate the real old stuff too. I thin anybody born after like 98 probably won’t, because they grew watching an entirely different type of story. Artists were excited to really show its full potential in all aspects. Fantasia is basically Disney making a statement for animation as high-culture, animation established as a serious and boundless artform without constraints of plot, animation for animation's sake, at its purest and most artistically ambitious. I don't think you understood Soul in the slightest if you think Joe proving himself as jazz player would be a satisfying end to his arc. The man needed to learn that people can't just achieve a singular thing to magically remain happy for the rest of their lives. When he DID successfully join the band, he realized that it was just a new part of his routine, and not the thing that'd make his life worth living.

Though an explanation of why he just follows orders may be because of a hard coded system within him that forces Auto to follow orders. Y'know to make sure the route goes as intended. And that system might have tiers where the CEO's orders override anything else.

But I realize, only now do I truly understand what he meant. Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere”

    When it comes to Brave's main story issues, I mostly blame John Lasseter and the dumbass replacement director. At first, Brave was being directed by the woman behind The Prince Of Egypt, but during the production, she was fired for not conforming to Lasseter's rules and was replaced by an idiotic excuse of a director. In an interview for the movie, the replacement guy went on record to say that Merida being a woman had nothing to do with the story, but like....it's a story about a princess rebelling against her mom due to an arranged marriage.
