Ayumu Mai I think that he would’ve had to pick sides either way. Kokichi antagonizes himself too much, so he’s a social outcast. Shuichi would’ve lost so much influence if he was on Kokichis side. Hell, even the fandom struggles to figure out his intentions. I think this video does an awesome job showcasing the dynamics between all of them.

Hey! A bit late, but I once read this fanfic where Shuichi and Kokichi actually dated. It was causing a big affect, believe it or not, and murders weren’t really occurring. It even caused the mastermind to take extra measures to split them up since they were too close to solving the killing game. It was honestly quite interesting, and both boys were benefiting from it.
Sometimes I pretend none of them actually died. Like Danganronpa was just a movie they made for fun and all the deaths were fake, or they all came back as ghosts and were able to be brought back to the living world. It probably wouldn't be the craziest thing that's happened in that world. But I also just watch animatics like this. 💜💙❤💖
Just think of it this way They are all in a coma (I don't know how Kiibo would be there if it were like that though) and the game is a figment of their imagination. Their are connected in some way so they all see the same thing but in different pov's/views. Katio would be the only one that may have died because of his illness.
