WOW!!!! Shirley was WAY WAY WAAAY ahead of her time! and oh so BRAVE for speaking out at this level of awareness. No wonder she was so misunderstood. ALL of what she speaks of is so mainstream now. Thank you both for your bravery in the midst of all the criticism and backlash.
Almost 35 years ago that this was aired, and still so few practise what she teaches us here. If we did, the world would be a better place today ❤

Shirley MacLaine is a loving gem!! 💎Exciting, inspirational, articulate, graceful and captivating. She even handled being constantly interrupted by her host magnificently!💚
Even had a revelation of something that is outside of this conversation while watching this show, something simpler than I had thought and Noone ever said "do it this way, it's simpler than we were making it out to be". If only everyone was as generous with helping teach others as Miss Oprah is, we'd be further ahead already. Thank you Miss Oprah.
Oh and that thing is that musical intervals are linked to that "doe ray mi fah so la ti oh" tune that you may have learned as a child, so you can use that tune as a guide for ear training in recognizing musical notes. For the musicians out there that want to play instruments better by ear ;).

Very interesting show and for me the best conversation I'd ever seen with Ms. MacLaine explaining meta-physics and chakras and meditation. Prayer being talking to God while mediation is listening to God. Amazing. I definitely had that AHA moment.

I remember seeing this when it aired. She was really a pioneer. Btw the first original broadcast of this was in 89 or 90- not 2013. That should be obvious by looking at the clothes and hairstyles. I remembered the exchange about being the devil and the eye roll for years.
This show is from 1991. She also appeared on Oprah in 1986.

The people who are always calling people the devil are not in tune with their own practices. My great aunt was a devout Catholic I never once heard her speak with this kind of condemnation. People who are really walking the walk don’t act t like that.
Shirley was born in 1934. She states that she is going to be 55. That makes this taping 1989 -- which is evident by Oprahs hair LOL
Americans do tend to lack awareness however if you think about it we are geographically very removed from the rest of the world. Even if you take Europe so many different cultures are a train ride away. We don’t really have that luxury and traveling can be very expensive. However Americans really do need to heighten their global awareness even if they can’t travel you can always study and read books and be exposed without physically experiencing those different cultures
