Two teams in a financially depressed world on the Eve of World War II. They would basically go in opposite directions from that point. Though the Rangers would win the Cup 4 years later in 1940, an interminable drought would begin that would not see the Stanley Cup return to Manhattan for another '54' years! During that same stretch, the Canadiens won 20 Stanley Cups! Think about that! Wow. Today, things don't look all that good for either team --- the Rangers last won in 94' and the Canadiens in 93' --- 28 and 29 year droughts respectively.

That ice surface was atrocious, of course this was well before the invention of the Zamboni. Today, they would refuse to play under those ice conditions. Even though 80+ years ago, the play looks remarkably similar to today.

They would just flood the ice during intermission and men came out with giant brooms to spread it around. The ice indeed was not good

Интересно ,когда маршал Ворошилов побывал на хоккее и завез его в СССР? Интересно посмотреть на это в 30е годы.

No goalie masks, seems almost barbaric but that’s the way it was (and I bet those players were tough).

Not on that ice, and if you dress him in those uniforms, and put him in the 30's skates, and train and feed him as in the 30's.
