Thanks David for calling Kevin out on his subtle conservative talking points. Kev is a great real estate guru but his politics are really bad. He literally spent all of Trump's presidency "both-sidezing" and entertaining Trump's fascism. Kevin is driven by one thing: Money. He’s an incredibly smooth talker. I’m not sure if he’d be better as a politician or a political commentator. But he should have a show on mainstream TV. Or even run debates on political candidates

David deals in hard truth. But voters want to support people who tell them what they want to hear. So the first time he stands in front of a huge crowd and states matter of factly that building a border wall will be an excellent way of increasing the budget deficit with no other impact on the immigration issues, there will be an loud explosive crashing silence. This is the country that elected George W. and then re-elected him to a second term.

I like pakman but he's doing techno-babble mysticism here saying that commodities always get cheaper bkuz technology. That explanation, like everything in life, has diminishing returns. I do agree with his conclusion that these high prices with x y and z are not due to inflation or the stimulus, but for example our government opening up the housing market to foreign wealth funds. There's tons of foreign investment groups buying up the housing market in america everywhere.

This is why I sub Dave. Even when he doesn't agree with someone he still allows them to feel human and lets them speak their mind. That being said, you better know your stuff when stepping up to the plate with your Coke, because the amount of information this young man has in his head is astounding.

Kevin didn't try to slam him at all.
He doesn't seem to identify with either party, but does seem to agree with some left wing policy.
He brings up points he hears from all his financial guests and comments which range from very liberal people to very conservative people.
He generally asks the same types of questions to everyone he interviews .

Except David didn't go "down in flames". What he said was right on. Maybe you were just unable to understand what the motive is that Republicans have and their need to try to make sure Democrats don't succeed with their agenda so they can point fingers, even though they have had no clear policy agenda for the American people in quite a long time. They only bow to corporate pressure. You can see that working quite well today in the rejection of voter suppression.

The more Kevin has to explain himself, the more he reveals that he knows very little, yet speaks as if he’s an expert.
There are several times when he is smiling and nodding and you can tell he has no idea what Dave is talking about. “Maybe housing isn’t for everyone”?? Tf is he talking about. I love it when people think they just “owned” Pakman and he just spins them on their heads without trying to just “own” them back. It’s the kind of style that might actually build bridges and change minds because he doesn’t make them defensive.Such a great communicator.

Well that and who in their right mind is spending money, either what little they have, or holding a large stash, on BRAND NEW CAR -> INSTANT LOSS on INVESTMENT as soon as they leave the lot. I feel like this has been a highlight of consumer-culture/wise-spending since the 2008 crash so plenty of time to work into generations of buyers

Kevin is a hack. Puts out about 10 vids a day, low content. Brags about his money. Does pump and dump with stocks he invested in. And won't shut the hell up about Tesla. Also, these days it appears he's addicted to the stock market and never sleeps. I unsubscribed. David is so not the same. David is intelligent and has quality content. And probably more money but doesn't brag about it.

Very respectful interview.
Kevin's demeanor during the opening segment was so over the top in enthusiasm and joy it gave me a negative, dishonest vibe. It calmed down quite a bit after the interview got underway but that opening was like the fake joy of a TV evangelist.
David is so well spoken and apparently well informed he comes across as knowledgeable as any academic economist seen on cable news. Great interview!

For high-income earners, Cali is 50% tax rate lol. 12.3% state, 37% fed, plus local is 50%

@@indefinite115 to bring it home a little more specifically - his Tucker Carlson game is “On”. Even when you look away, and not watch - sans the facial expressions. I don’t watch Kevin’s channel, although at cursory glance , I think he may be a T-Carl fanboy.

I like how if you don't know something, you reasonably explain why you don't know it rather than making something up or trying to appear knowledgeable when you really aren't. People need to learn how to do that
Australia paid business's to keep people on their payrolls - the idea was that when we left this pandemic, at least 80% of employees and employers were still linked and that it would not take long for a business to restart. Also it meant that staff could still pay their bills, etc. The payment was about 80% of the previous pay. The program was called "job keeper". This program only ended last week (lasted just under 12 months). As I'm not working (retired) I'm unable to say what the experience was from either end. And as the program has only just ended I don't know if it was effective or not. The Tourism & Service Industries suffered hugely during the lockdowns. The service industry is mostly back to normal here. However the tourism industry is still hurting as we have no international travelers. Local tourism has only been able to fully restart just a month or two ago.
We had a furlough scheme like you. I loved it. 80% pay for 0% hours worked! I would settle for that. Did some things I wanted to do for ages. Did some art etc. Lol.

I used to follow “Meet Kevin” religiously until he started trying to be a newsman and dealing with economics and breaking congressional news about the stimulus. He was known for real estate videos and even investing. David did a great job here.

You can really hear the contrast between Kevin's often vague, fear-generated general assumptions about trends and David's specific, fact-based detailed explanations of reality. I wish more people listened to people like David.

That's a good point. No doubt about it. You always hear many saying "Let the free markets rule". But just as soon as the markets go south you'll see them screaming, SCREAMING, for government intervention.

As an Australian, I enjoy both Meet Kevin and the David Pakman Show. Brilliant! As for stimulus payments, many in Australia who are wealthy undeservedly received payments and some that needed payments missed out due to stupid regulations set by the current conservative federal government.
David - you totally missed the supply chain shortage of microchips! Its a global shortage with ramifications into the immediate future and it is hitting car manufactures in particular from my understanding.

I really enjoyed this and was a little surprised seeing Kevin a little out of his comfort zone (compared to how he speaks so knowledgeably on REI). More of these videos need to happen as a really interesting perspective mix happens when business/investment-centric folks like Kevin discuss with left-leaning political minds like Pakman. I would really like to see another video with both these guys talking about economic growth strategies.
