This was surprisingly pretty enjoyable to listen to. The people to the left and right of David brought fourth their opinions that were at least based in reality, even if you don't agree with them totally. Nobody said "Joe Biden is the clear winner, he didn't call one of the other candidates Mr. President even once!" or "look at Bernie, he's too old PASS THE TORCH"
Maybe her plan is a Windfall Tax, whereby a large amount is taxed in one go upon billionaires, but does not continue at that rate so as not to alarm markets. If so then she is doing the right thing by not announcing it. It would be like saying to a criminal :"We're coming to get you in on a certain date so please make sure you are in with all the evidence." That said, I hope the candidate with most integrity wins and that would be Mr Sanders. She would be a close second.
Why isn’t greater Boston a nationwide show? This segment was awesome. The questions were straight forward. They weren’t worded in a way to sound like republicans talking point. The questions sound like questions the average voter would asked. The guest were allowed to answer the questions without other people jumping in to yell lies and the moderator had good follow up questions.
David Parkman did a fantastic job here. He proved the depth of knowledge of the issues and he demonstrated the need for fact- based journalism that progressive leaning can bring to the news.
Kamala point is a moot point because it's essentially beating a dead horse on the dem side. I am 100% certain that none of the candidates standing on the debate stage disagree with women's reproductive rights... If there's one, there's one. I'd suggest that you save the issues that polarize liberals and conservatives for the general debate stage. Primary debate stage topics should be kept to the nuances in liberal ideas and approaches. An analogy is how much LGBTQ+ issues would be essentially a waste of time to be discussed during a dem debate. Rationally, who on the stage would be against LGBTQ+? And if there was an anomaly, it'd be pretty obvious. Stop wasting time.
*Taxes go up $60 and in return you save $3000 on health care. But yet I want NO NEW TAXES* . But yet taxes ultimately come back to you in roads schools water etc, yet what do you get for paying BS "convenience fees" "ATM fees" "credit card fees" etc.
Fascinating to watch in hindsight from 2021. Thought the part about debating Trump was hilarious because of how utterly unhinged and brutal he was in the end during that first debate. Glad to see how many strong nominees the Dems had in 2019. I wasn't following it as much back then.
PS Wright it makes me really question who that pundit works for. The only thing Trump is good at is playing that game. That’s why it’s Trumps game not Biden’ game. Even just playing it out in my mind. I see Trump coming off very calm and collected while Biden will be much more flustered, combative, and unhinged. They both won’t be able to get out a cogent thought but that is a win for Trump because we expect that from him. I honestly believe Biden is the worst Democrat in all of the United States when going up against Trump.
Excellent job by David here. I'd argue that the national dialogue on the debates is not really useful without a focus on climate change, but still, excellent job.
"Why doesn't she answer the question?" Because she doesn't believe in anything. She wants to be vague so she can walk her positions back, or flat out flip, when the general starts.
Im confused why anyone thinks Biden can hang with Trump in a Debate. The only candidates I feel might be able to give Trump problems are Bernie, Yang and definitely Tulsi.
Great job David! I hope they have you on more! Craziest comment from that video: "Joe Biden can beat Trump at his own game." Maybe if the game is being incoherent and not finishing your sentences.

Seeing this in Feb 2021, I think that David has the best take. Key point: these debates didn't matter much at all. @@eagle3676 I don't think so. Warren is closer to Biden on issues so it'd make sense that Biden supporters would go to her first.
@@dren5810 No troll, just someone who thinks the next generation should have a say in our lives, not a bunch of 70 year olds.
I believe Bernie, with the grotesquely small amount of time allotted him, was particularly effective against Joe Biden. I know everyone wants to write him off for Elizabeth Warren but it's not going to happen. AOC and the other 2 squad members endorsements will help him and solidifies him as the most progressive of all candidates and not Warren, who the msm is trying to project. I am disappointed in this conversation, which I believe just left him out in the cold, as usual.
Yeah I’m very disappointed too. David is more of a centrist than I had already thought
@@danawakes2001 Seriously? He was one of three people and not the one asking the questions and for his polling numbers Bernie got plenty of attention. Unless it is 100 percent Bernie and he is perfect all the time it seems it is never good enough. I know Bernie gets shafted plenty by the media but now you are just seeing what isn't there.
It feels bizarre seeing a TV news segment in which Bernie is treated fairly
Andrew Yang challenged Warren on her wealth tax and imo that really hurt her position. Wealth tax hasn't worked in other countries and it won't work in the US. Using a value-added tax would be much more effective.
At 11:43 Lylah Alfonse hit the nail on the head when she said that she can see Biden going up against Chump because people are still looking for INFOTAINMENT! I've been saying this. This has a lot to do with Chump's popularity. People find him entertaining and hard as it may be to believe, they don't understand that running the country is not a TV reality show. I don't want Biden and don't think it will be him, but whoever Chump goes up against has to be able to dish it right back to him. If not, he will eat you alive. It's a shame but our politics has now become a real-time soap opera and has real-time consequences and I'm not convinced that many millions understand this.
@@SplotPublishing - You give too much credit to the millions who think climate change is fake, that Jesus is coming back, that evolution is false, and that vanilla is better than chocolate. And many republican voters, even if they don't like Trump, will vote for him again (assuming he's still in the running). Anyhow I don't credit people for brains like you do. The fact that polls don't show Trump with an approval rating under 10% speaks for itself (in fact, it's at about 40%). But you say I'm wrong. You would have said the same thing to me before the 2016 election that Trump would win. Whatever. Time will tell. I sure hope I'm wrong. But I'm not making bets or holding my breath.
If Warren gets the nomination, Trump will shred Her. Just being honest.
true, Trump will be just like "Pocahontas uga uga" and than you watch Warren helplessly trying to ignore him, but in the end will fall in line with his distraction tactics. I only see Bernie, Tulsy and Yang as the only ones smart and stable enough to shut him down, by adressing his failed politics.
@@saltking2715 Possibly Bernie, but Trump will attack to living hell out of his recent health issue.
@@saltking2715 The biggest problem we are up against, and I really see no way out is this: Republicans do not care if their guy (Trump) does ANYTHING wrong whats so ever. However democrats care if their guy/gal does, or has ever done anything even minor, all it takes is one thing to keep democrats from showing up. It's an easy victory for Trump. You cannot dig up any dirt on Trump and cause him to lose support, but you can dig up one questionable thing about a democrat, bam DONE.
@@bootyholeman5659 yeah but since Trump is old and unhealthy as well its not that much of a long lasting talking point and when Trump was going after Hilaries health it was accepted as everyone hated her. And i dont think it would fly that well with his followers if the only thing he has on someone is his recent heart problems, kind of a low blow, i know that these things dont mean much to Trump but in that case could be ill conceived with his audiance, similiar to him making fun of the disabled guy.
@@saltking2715 Trump supporters dont care. He can call people out for the same things he does, or is. They don't care if its him. I've asked them. They do not care if he does ANYTHING wrong. This is the problem we have.
Warren would get absolutely crushed if she was the nominee. “Pocahontas”. That’s the debate right there. Come on Pakman
"People are still looking for info-tainment."
If that's true, there's something seriously wrong with our political system. I'd be more comfortable if people were tired of all the bs and wanted an actual election, not a circus.

To be honest, I'd love to watch Yang destroy Trump with cold facts and data. He could probably also come up with some top quality roasts while he's at it.
Finally ! - all 4 of these commentators were smart, critical thinkers and understood reality. Very inciteful dialogue THANK YOU!
Impressed by the panel on this show, David usually stands out with his well framed takes, love it when he is on other shows
"4 People basically agree on everything on PBS" is the honest title.
No one can beat Trump in his own game. If you don't have your game, you can't beat Trump.
And I am surprised that David mentioned Yang here.
Andrew Yang for President 2020.
Thanks for mentioning #andrewyang! I am going to be optimistic to the end!
Crazy to see a facts based discussion in 2019. I always thought the loudest person was right... I only watch Fox news
should of been called i cant make a valid point with facts or logic LOL go david!
New camera angle, nice. I love how eager David is at the start of this exchange. And how David he is.
We all know how that ended
"No, go ahead."
THEM'S FIGHTIN' WORDS!
Wow, this host wasn't terrible. An actual nuanced conversation. Nice!
Once again David is the smartest in the room.
David Parkman did a fantastic job here. He proved the depth of knowledge of the issues and he demonstrated the need for fact- based journalism that progressive leaning can bring to the news.
David Pakman is secretly a bigger fan of Liz Warren over Bernie. Warren was courting AOC’s support aggressively and he totally downplays it.
The guy left of David looks like a smart version of Howard Schultz
Ha! This is such a great comment.

I don't think I'd be able to watch that show in full.
Who told Biden to be all agressive like he is? All of the "it was ME who got it done" and the shouting makes me cringe.
Andrew Yang would smoke the boots off of Trump in not only the debate stage but also in the general election
“Can he (Biden) beat Trump at his own game?...I think he can.” says the pundit that went from coherent to watcha talkin about Willis in a jiffy.
Stop with the click bait it’s so cringe
Excellent job by David here. I'd argue that the national dialogue on the debates is not really useful without a focus on climate change, but still, excellent job.
"Why doesn't she answer the question?"
Because she doesn't believe in anything.
She wants to be vague so she can walk her positions back, or flat out flip, when the general starts.

Seeing this in Feb 2021, I think that David has the best take. Key point: these debates didn't matter much at all. The moderator had a solid point that the most important issue in the primary was "who can beat Trump?" This dovetails with David's caveat, which was that these things wouldn't matter as long as nobody had a disastrous performance.
