In January 15th 2010 roblox started the hats for Haiti event, where you would buy a specific hat for 15 robux, and the total amount of money roblox would earn from that hat would be donated to the cause to help rebuild Haiti. Personally I think this was the best event roblox has ever done.

When Apple and Fortnite were “peacefully talking” in court on why fortnite should be banned from apple devices (Epic games and apple didn’t get a fair share of money when someone bought V-Bucks) Fortnite then said that Roblox doesn’t give out a fair share if money too. But then Apple responded with a “Very reasonable” response saying that “Roblox is like Minecraft, it never ends. A game has an end to it like when you win/lose but Roblox never has an end so it is more of an “experience” than an actual game” and then Roblox thought they might be next after Fortnite so they decided to change every “Game” word to “Experience” just to be safe. Lol
but we sure as hell know that roblox experiences are more than games than actual experiences

If you told me back then in 2012 that a single game in the future on roblox could hold atleast 100,000 players I wouldn't have believed you. It's crazy how far roblox has gone. As I'm typing this, Adopt Me has 200k ACTIVE players and Brookhaven has 500k ACTIVE players. It's so crazy.
Its so crazy to think. I remember when I religiously played Roblox back in 2011-2013, I thought it was insane when a game reached 3k concurrent players. Having not touched Roblox since 2015, I hopped on to see what its like today and was in shock that that there were games on the front page that reached 500k concurrent players. The rapid growth this game has had in the last 5 years is inconceivable.
Also side rant, I realized my account got hacked sometime last year and lost all my items that I unknowingly went limited during my hiatus which would be valued around 20k Robux. Even though I don't play anymore, its a bummer that a lot of my childhood just got deleted like that and Roblox didn't even attempt to get it resolved, oh well.

@@nuclearbomb9483 CSGO has grown a lot this year aswell. I used to play that A LOT in 2014-2016 when the average was around 500k-600k concurrent players. Now I see its been hitting 1M this year at times. Crazy how things grow!

My oldest daughter started playign Roblox when she was 3 back in 2016 thanks to playing with her older cousin. Everything seemed "innocent" enough to me. The first "experience" I played was when I she was playing on an iPad just before bed, on my own phone as I lay next to her, created my account in secret, found her current game, and joined it. She was so thrilled and excited. Now if I'm NOT mistaken, I'm pretty sure it was an early version of a FNAF Simulator, it was very simple and played the Living Tombstone FNAF song on loop. I'm pretty sure that's correct. If i'm not (and who really cares aside me for accuracy here) then it was either Build a Boat Simulator or Normal Elevator. After that, Phantom Forces became the thing that sold me on Roblox overall.
I started playing roblox around 2013-2014, and now it's 2021. This video really puts into perspective on how long I've played roblox.

ohh man. i never thought i'd be an Old roblox player. everything felt so fresh, new, and hip at the time. i was playing it every day from 2009-2010/2011. i remember so many changes and updates happening. i didn't play much (the friend i used to play with and i weren't talking as much and life went on) for the next few years to the point where by 2014, the game was unrecognizable to me. this was such a cool nostalgia trip of two vids tho. im watching bc im interested in playing again but i feel So lost like i wouldn't even know how sldfjask we'll see what happens. thnx again for making this vid and the part 1! super cool vids

Literally one of the best Roblox features of all time was parties. You and 4 friends could make a group chat, and then turn on party mode. Once one person joins all your friends will join the same server, without having to even click a single button! It was awesome, me and my friends used it a lot. Now it's less useful because Roblox doesn't automatically fill it's servers to the limit and spreads them out, but it's still sad to see it gone.

Oh, I know why they’re called experiences!
In the Apple VS Epic court case, Epic claims that Apple allowing Roblox to be on the iOS store is the same as having the Epic Games store on iOS, and therefore are breaking TOS.
But because Apple has a megafuckload of money, they put a gun against Roblox’s head to change “Games” into “Experiences.” So that on a technical level, Roblox isn’t a game platform, but an “Experience Platform.”
Aaaand that's why I hate big companies sometimes, flawed logic or greedy cash grabbers. Well, you did a good explanation, here's a like tip, my sir.

Roblox made games “experiences” because Apple was having Fortnite give them some money they got. (I’m not sure, but I think it was 30% of their money) It was because apple was an app that Fortnite was able to be downloaded on. Fortnite got mad and asked apple.” Why do we have to give money to you, but roblox doesn’t?” Then Apple told them that Roblox was an experience. They explained the difference between an experience and a game. Then roblox went,” Oh shoot, we need to change our games into experiences to prevent this problem.” So, overnight, Roblox changed games to “Experiences” So they could get their full money they earned. (I’m pretty sure that was why. It’s not accurate, but it was something like that.)

Ok, if anyone is interested here is why Roblox “games” are now called experiences! Apple and Fortnite are having a legal battle, Apple takes 20% of all money made through purchases on games. This is a lot of money especially for a game like Fortnite, so Fortnite adds a new feature to their game where you can pay them directly stopping Apple taking their cut! Fortnite encouraged players to buy v bucks directly from them by making them cheaper if you buy them of them directly! Apple was furious about this, so they made the decision to suspend Fortnite from the App Store and sue Epic games (the owners of Fortnite). In court Fortnite brought up the fact that Roblox didn’t pay the 20% on all purchases made in their game! Apples argument against this was that Roblox is an experience and not a game. So, to avoid have the 20% purchase fee leveed on them Roblox re-named all of its games to experiences!

To be honest, I had high hopes for this but with the current situation that's going on in roblox. I don't feel like coming back at all. Tix was one issue, now guest and builders club. Users from 2k10-2k15 can definitely tell that there were major ups and downs.. mostly downs..
In short, I don't think its worth returning back to roblox and paying it another visit. Alot of cursed is emerging nowadays in the community as well as the game itself. Even the games popular now are just deadass boring asf.

you cant.. just remove od-ing and bots.. you can make an effort to get rid of games with od-ing, but bots are a different story. and i get what your saying about how david ruined the game, and i agree with you, but as a businessman he has to make decisions. business is all about money, nobody can change that. not even david. while the choices he is making as a business man are quite far-fetched and disliked, thats always up to him. trust me, i wish erik could come back and make this better, but i can only wish. the only effective solution to a lot of the problems on this platform would probably be making it 12, or 14+. this would remove a lot of the problems with innapropriate things when the kids seeing them already know what it is. and, there wouldn't be mindless children online that dont know how to do multiplication yet. so while i agree with your statement, not everything here can be fixed.

So, if there's an app on the app store / Apple, any in-game currencies, Apple would get 5% of the money. Fortnite is on the app store, and has in-game currencies. So they had to pay 5% of what they make to Apple. Fortnite got mad because they were losing money. They complained that Roblox doesn't pay 5% of what they make to Apple, yet they are on the app store. Apple made up I think the most stupid excuse on the planet. Apple said "Roblox isn't a game, its an experience." Pretty stupid if you ask me. The reason Apple has for it being an "experience" and not a "game" is that it has no ending. After hearing this, Roblox changed most terms on the website to Experience, Visiting, Visitors, etc, so they wouldn't lose money from people buying Robux. That's the story lol
