We have/ had this SUV. The Infinity QX80 is magnificent. Two week ago involved in head-on collision in our QX80. Our SUV was hit hard enough to send into a spin slamming into another car. The airbags did not deploy. No one was hurt. No cabin damage. The Infinity QX80 saved our lives.
Great review, Sarah. It always cracks me up, when you fall out-of-frame during the bolstering test. I also appreciate you pointing out the difference between a 10 mil bolt and a "popper doodle." Keep up the great work.
I drove a nv3500 with the 5.6 and used it as a tow vehicle and it never let me down. grand total of 235k miles with only regular matinance no major problems. big fan of nissan.
Oh Joy! - another video by my favorite car-reviewer just after I finished watching the road-trip to Las Vegas-video on your main channel - Some girl has been very busy, it seems. Thank you! Love the high nerd-level on your reviews on this channel - very informative and interesting and full of the stuff no other car-reviewer show. Top notch.
I’m not let down. Turn off traction control. It’s a beast. I have a 2021 Armada Platinum. It’s a beast on gas also, but I knew that when I purchased it. I took of the original tie after 2000 miles. I have Michelin Defenders M+S on now. Big difference.
Thanks for the review ! My daughter-in-law has a 2019 ,and loves it for hauling my son and our grandkids to our places in Munds Park(near Flagstaff),Purgatory, and Telluride for ski trips loaded with gear. I am planning on sharing your review with her and my son.
Hill climbing and off-roading is my favorite part of your reviews. Your reviews are my favorite of your other videos. So seeing the infinity climb the hill is why I'm here for lol also, for the mechanical deep dive, and analysis.
I wanted the Land Cruiser but bought the Armada instead. Reason being, its 7 or 8 tenths of a Land Cruiser, for approx 1/2 of the actual transaction price. I think the Armada is well worth 1/2 the price of the LX600
I have a 21 LX570 (LAST of overbuilt Toyota reliability with V8NA engine). And now 24 QX80 Sensory from Scottsdale Infiniti for $17k off MSRP (since they trying to replace it with 25 QX80 brand new V6TT model). Both this QX80 and LX570 come with Hydraulic suspension
I’m in the market to buy one of these used like you said the value you can get by finding one 3-4 years old is crazy their usually less than half the original msrp. Your review was by far the most detailed in depth one I’ve seen on this truck! Great job!
Wow Really Sarah someone makes a lift kit for the QX80 That has to be crazy to see a QX80 lifted lol loved this review I love how you keep all of you reviews real. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. Have fun take care
The tires are Dueler H/T as in Highway Terrain. I'm using the same tires (but of different size) on the ISUZU MUX - the cousin of the 2016 Chevrolet Trailblazer - and those tires don't really like the offroad. However, those tires love the pavement and asphalt (that is why it's called H/T or Highway Terrain).
"No one that buys one of these is going to do this kind of stuff"... yet here we are 😁 I have always liked these and the Armada. If I ever needed a full sized SUV these would be at the top of my list. So much more interesting than a Tahoe or Yukon.
You keep saying no one is going to off-road one of these but I plan on buying one of these and putting 18 inch wheels with 35 inch tires, skid plate, and rock sliders on it. And I will absolutely be off-roading it. No sure what to do about the bumpers though.
One of my favorite constant things is that gangsta "YEEE-uh!" Another: "A-aw... held on by hardware, you can't just pop it off", *out comes cordless wrench*, " oh wait, yeah you can" 🤣
Yes in Australia we get the patrol version and is more off road oriented. Lots of after market here as well and is the go to big tourer and tough 4wd. Sounds awesome and is worth the poor MPG.👍
I love these mechanical reviews, can I ask for more approximations of standard weight involving random foods? Honeydews, clams or fried-crickets for example.
I have to chuckle every time you do a review and open hood. To say that it's "fully painted" underneath the hood always blows my mind that some manufacture's try to save money there. :):)
I appreciate that Sarah points out nonsense like that. What else did the manufacturer cheap out on if they can't even paint under the hood. Oftentimes, the lower surface is just splattered with body color over spray. It is definitely a deal breaker for me.
That's a big bus, VK56 is a stout engine. Like a lot of the big expensive SUV apart from odd exception most will probably never know what it's like to get thrashed through the dirt. :)
Thats a nice car. I like the brown interior. When my mom's 2003 Jeep Liberty got too crusty and the power steering pump went we were searching for a replacement. Our mechanic had a QX50, 2019 I think, on his used car lot we were going to buy and then my dad found a 2016 Jeep Cherokee for a slightly cheaper price at the Dodge dealer. It's been an awesome car. My only critique is the power seats that you program to your driving position. It's stored in the key fob. A few times I've grabbed my mom's key by accident and found my 5 foot 7 self squashed into mom's 5 foot 1 driving position 🤣. Keep up the great work!
May I suggest adding a GoPro to aim at the speedometer for a picture in picture during the beans test to give a visual indication of how fast a vehicle accelerates . It got really grumpy going up that hill haha!
I work for Enterprise at the Cleveland Airport. It’s crazy how the QX80s will just sit on the lots. People just don’t go for them. I always thought they were pretty nice for what they are, except for the really small cargo area.
The whole concept of a 7 passenger, 6,000lbs, luxury, off road vehicle is absurd. This thing is a great station wagon for an active family. It tows, it plows thru snow, it handles a cottage road with aplomb, all while hauling a crowd and their stuff in style and comfort. Call it what it is and it makes perfect sense. An off-roader, not so much.
That’s a honking big SUV. Never disappoint though, you still took it off road. Bravo! 👏🏻 Gotta ask, why did you opt for normal text during the score portion? I think doing it with the little figures was better. Unless you want to differentiate between this channel and your main one? 🤔👍🏻
That is quite a vehicle and I‘m impressed with the towing capacity. Too bad Mt. Sarah defeated those tires, but as you said, nobody is buying this to tackle Moab. BTW, I think you’ve hit on the perfect whiteboard graphics! Thanks, Sarah. 👍👍👍
Please forgive me if I'm overthinking... and reading you wrong.....Your far too cute and awesome 2 ever be upset about anything... if someone hurt your feelings I'm sure their are 2 options,.. I'd like to see a video where Sarah reviews comments & then gives them a bean score. My last girlfriend said I was full of beans so I think I'd score around a 2.3/5.
Geez, what a tank. I guess there's a market for 80k+ behemoths. Soccer Moms will travel in style with this one, until they realize that they should've bought a Toyota Sienna van.
I can't believe Nissan left the oil pan - hanging out - while everything else is so well protected! You know if that oil pan hangs on anything, 3+ tons of inertia will rip it right off! Excellent review as always, Sarah!
Way down in southern Arizona is the Lucid Plant and it seems to me that’s not too far from you and I think you want to do something with them. I would love to see you review a lucid air. Give it the beans with 1111 hp!
Watching you try to climb that first hill, there was more going on than poor tires. Both the left front and right rear tires were spinning suggesting that their "brake actuated" LSD doesn't perform very well. A rear locker would really help, but the target demographic would probably never use it in the mall parking lot!
Having been someone that came from an Infinity M56X top trim with the aero bumper, and test drove this SUV about a year ago, I can safely say that this SUV just feels cheap. It looks great, but feels cheap and looked cheap on the inside (Probably due the one I test drove had the old single screen and not the updated dual screen setup.) But it was huge, slow and not fun to drive at all. This vehicle is nothing more than transportation to the office and back (Or whatever you people do) and that's it imo
I'm a soccer mom driver in one of these. It makes for great road trips with kids. Thats about it. I basically bought it for the V8 and passenger comfort with that insane suspension! 4 teens sit comfortably in the the back. I want to put some Grappler's on it too.
Nice Review.. Cars are outrageous in prices. My mom bought a 1961 Chevy Impala Convertible in the 1960's for 2500.00. Cars cost the price of a house today. With Gas 5 dollars a gallon. I paid 27k for a Chevy Camaro LS V6 base model. An I just had it appraised for trade in for 15,500 at the car lot I bought it. It has under 18k miles. It's nice. But useless. I'm clueless at what to look for VW wagon/gti or Subaru hatchback Outback, forester or Crosstrek. Hard to find anything under 20k with under 100k miles. I had 2001 Chevy S10 4cyl 5spd. before VW bought it in 2004 had it till 2012. I love trucks. Can't afford one nor keep it up running with 7.00 diesel a gallon. Sorry rambling on.
So disappointed in my 2023 QX80 since my 12.3 inch screen displays 7.4 inch in Carplay and Android Auto, what where they thinking even Hyundai and Kia displays full screen on their 12.3 inch screen.

Ergonomics was horrible for me and I couldn’t get comfortable at all and the power is lack luster and almost got me into a game of chicken when trying to pass someone on the highway. By the end of the week I couldn’t believe someone would pay the 70k msrp for it much less 80k+ like the one in this video. This is not the luxury vehicle Infiniti wants you to think it is and I would have so much buyers remorse if I bought one of these.

Bolstering test never, never, gets old.
This truck would make a great limo.

I wouldn't trade my 2019 Land Cruiser for two of these. Great review as always Sarah. You are the best.
lol. i am keeping my 2000 LC but possilby getting this as well.
I wanted the Land Cruiser but bought the Armada instead. Reason being, its 7 or 8 tenths of a Land Cruiser, for approx 1/2 of the actual transaction price. I think the Armada is well worth 1/2 the price of the LX600

I love how the tires sound like they're scrubbing asphalt instead of dirt on the Yeet Run.
It would be great if you review the Lexus LX as well cuz that thing is the closest SUV to the QX80 and fortunately just got redesigned.

The Nissan V8s are becoming a popular motor to swap into other cars and there is an aftermarket for components slowly becoming available 👍
I believe it with how ugly that SUV is.
All suv’s
@@rsdouglass4 For the most part. I really like the look of the new Bronco.
I think it’s one of the nicest maybe nicest truck out there right now and for a long time. In and out it’s totally unbelievable!! 💚💚💚🇨🇦
I like the second channel, and it’s easier to communicate with you.😊
It's easier?
@@GiveItTheBeans Fewer comments, so it’s more likely you see mine. Don’t get me wrong, I hope this channel becomes as popular, as your main channel.
That is a big heavy beautiful family suv for a soccer mom in the northern regions so the fact it did what it did off-road was terrific 👍🏻

Had a 21 Armada for a rental for a week. I would definitely get either of them. Totally awesome
The QX80 only gets the R230 with the Armada and V8 Pathfinder. The R248 is only with the overseas version
V8 pathfinder doesn't have a 7 speed.
@@occckid123 the R248 and R230 are the rear differentials. It has nothing to do with the transmission.
@@BorellaFamilyAdventures oh im in motion. Read it as rea*. It doesn't need that. Nobody is bringing it up a hill line this.
@@occckid123 not sure i understand.
@@BorellaFamilyAdventures the transmission code is similar. My mistakes
So honest, Informative, with plenty of nuances. I noticed the six lug wheels.
Great choice of vehicle review for this channel, Sarah! The added detail makes it very plain this is not "just" a Nissan.
You keep saying no one is going to off-road one of these but I plan on buying one of these and putting 18 inch wheels with 35 inch tires, skid plate, and rock sliders on it. And I will absolutely be off-roading it. No sure what to do about the bumpers though.

Sarah! Another video this week!!!! What a treat! THANK YOU!
I liked how quite it was in the interior cabin. These always catch my eye out on the roads. Thanks for the review.
It is extremely quiet. Just got back from a long road trip. You also can't feel any bumps.
