In my humble opinion, the “Christmas Hamm” was the best of Richard’s “Travel Man.” Hamm clearly enjoyed the understated humour, Richard’s constant discomfiture, the puns, the stats, and all of the touring. Those suits were fabulous. Even the locals seemed amused.
As a former resident I really enjoyed the HK segment with Hamm. Excellent chemistry between Jon and Richard. Sure they could've hit some other spots but overall the suits were the hi-light! 😉 Love it!
Thank you Richard and Johnny... You have confirmed that this is one of the places that I absolutely never need to visit. One of the most morally duplicitous places on earth!
I love all his . His sense of humor with his straight-faced and his sarcasm. It is awesome. He makes me laugh to the point that I'll be crying. His shows help when I'm down. a breath of fresh air. He's very handsome, very intelligent and very smart. I love his shows.
Ayoade is the only other person I know of who reacted the same as me. The CN Tower in Toronto scared me stiff but I could look down the Burj Khalifa just fine, my monkey brain did not react with fear. It was just too high, it almost seemed abstract😂
I have been up in a helicopter twice. The first time was great fun and the positive experience was the reason I was eager to go again. The second time was memorable too but not for any of the same reasons. Suffice to say there won’t be a third time .
I know it will never happen but It would be fun to see a travelman in poland and one of the stops, Richard is plunked into their national drift team's car :)
I still love the hot gay (and slightly dumb - do your initials stand for something? 😄) tailor hitting on Richard. 😄 30:08 I wonder if they went out with him later.
I felt so bad for the guy running the shop. Glad Richard didn’t take the bargained price. The man was clearly concerned about losing the money but didn’t know how to handle it being filmed.
What I never understand is people will barter over 2 dollars while on holiday in a 3rd world country, be generous and enjoy the fact a mere $1 can make someones day.
@@mccock3154 But I thought that’s normal? That in 3rd world you SHOULD be more generous exactly because of the fact $1 is a lot to enhance that person’s day. While it can be a nice sport like little game for some people to barter for the lousy $2 when neither of you really need those $2. What am I missing? Thanks.
According to some sources on The Never Lying or Ambiguous Internet (hmmm), the observation deck of Burj Khalifa is 1821 feet from ground level with ST at 1791 feet. I guess it is possible to measure it differently (from base or ground level or other). Both are pretty mindbogglingly high tho 😁
One thing I have never quite understood is why tourists feel the need to haggle for goods in foreign countries. This would be considered completely unacceptable in most of Western Europe, the UK and the US.
I would say that a small number of countries with informal mercantile traditions do encourage haggling but most shop owners in developed countries do not appreciate having their goods forcibly priced down by an entitled foreigner.
Dubai is trash. Spending time or money there is disgraceful. I'd not take a crap on Dubai. The only reason I'd ever enter Dubai is if my flight had to make an emergency landing.

“Do fish know when it’s raining?” I can’t remember any quote more Johnny Vegas than that one.
"The only thing I have in common with Jeremy Clarkson is that we're both casually racist."
I'm deceased 😭
It's funny isn't it?!?😂😂
"Do you see what I see?"
"No, this is the prison of consciousness."🤣🤣🤣🤣
HAHA SO DEEP caught me off guard as well 😂😂😂
"My initials are R.E.A"
"Does that stand for something?"
"Yeah...my name."
🤣🤣🤣
Yep, that was hilarious, and unscripted as well...
I so genuinely adore Johnny Vegas. He's just... pure.
yes, no pretence. He hides his light under a bushel. Intelligent but not full of himself. Now he is sober, he is funnier
Richard Ayoade is absolutely one of the funniest comedians in the 🌎 Great Respect
"I'm prepared for assault, its when it becomes loving I turn away. HAHAHA
😊😊😊😊😊
Richard as an Emirati myself..I truly respect and love you for the way you treated that Indian guy
Chris and The Ham need their own show. Brilliant.
Please and thank you

Taking Johnny Vegas to Vegas would've been so meta.
Richard is right at the tea shop...he was looking down ... You read him good... he only made it low cause he was on TV.
Obviously
The paper ripping man seemed so sweet and he’s amazing at what he does!
I love all his .
His sense of humor with his straight-faced and his sarcasm. It is awesome.
He makes me laugh to the point that I'll be crying.

My god their dynamic in the first half is amazing!!
That part with John Hamm literally had the end of madmen in it hahahah
Johnny's lap run on top gear.! Left foot braking, no licence.
Fast as
My God i love Johnny Vegas.
I am awed at whomever put together this interesting slant on a travelogue? Very entertaining I must say.
Richard Ayoade you are really, really funny talented, love your humor!!!!, Kim H Hollywood CA USA

Im still waiting on an odd couple sitcom starring Richard and Jon. Their chemistry is unmatched.
I have been up in a helicopter twice. The first time was great fun and the positive experience was the reason I was eager to go again. The second time was memorable too but not for any of the same reasons. Suffice to say there won’t be a third time .
I love the haggling they talk themselves into paying 50 more dirham than the guy originally asked simply because he looks down.
The deadpan, “It’s not unusual”. Wahahaha
“Do fish know when it’s raining?”
“Yes”
I genuinely gasped at the suit reveal. I haven’t lived.
“Oil, The fuel that brings only joy“ Sardonic or sarcastic I never know

“The next three years will not be good” was this made in 2019 per chance?
Vega's bit aired in 2016 and Hamm's in 2017 according to EPguide
One of my favourite episodes
Re:The Thai chi .... as a westerner in HK...I legit found people in HK to be that friendly. I love it there!
Hamm really is a top bloke. I wish I looked as good in a suit as he always does.
I felt so bad for the guy running the shop. Glad Richard didn’t take the bargained price. The man was clearly concerned about losing the money but didn’t know how to handle it being filmed.
He done them in the end. Unbelievable tactics from the owner!
@@avfc1985 Yes looking at the shop owner's face - felt like Richard just gave him more money to help him with his depression.

@@mccock3154 Oh, I immediately apologise lol, think I’ve read your comment with a wrong punctuation in my mind. My bad man! )
my initials are R E A
does that stand for something?
this makes me feel awkward pain
I found it very funny to see Richard clearly suffering during the foot massage 😂
Dubai, world's highest lavatories and the world's most insignificant antiquity.........wow.
I can't see any comment on Pat Morita taking their measurements, am I the only one who got that thought instantly?😁
18:31 He's Jon Bonhaming this...! LZ - Never forgotten
I'm so glad richard paid the tea shop man more :]
Sandy ballerina had me rolling omfg
When will the new series start?
It doesnt. Well, it does, but Richard quit. Its Joe Lycett now, there are episodes on youtube.
9:32 - Looking at the shop owner's face - felt like Richard just gave him more money to help the guy with his depression.
Burj Khalifa doesn't have the highest observation deck. The observation deck in Shanghai Tower is higher.

God, I love Jon Hamm, he just gets it. So unlike the average American.
Born in 1971, Year of the Pig, Jon Hamm get it...
The best part of the flight is also the worst part of a Bond film... the ending
Dubai.....Vegas, but even more ridiculous
One thing I have never quite understood is why tourists feel the need to haggle for goods in foreign countries. This would be considered completely unacceptable in most of Western Europe, the UK and the US.
but in many countries it is not only permitted it is expected.
Because in those countries it is expected

Jim Carey would have been insufferable; Jon Hamm is delightful.
Richard complains alot
