RB: "Now why would I want it to rain that? Do you know how many cats and dogs chased me over the years just for rooting through their owners garbage?" Me: *Chuckles* "Fair enough. Now, close your eyes. I've got a surprise for you!" RB: "Past experience has told me to not trust you whenever you bring out surprises. Last time the surprise involved me taking a bath and wearing cologne so I'd go on a 'surprise' date with Daphne that even she didn't know about!" Me: "But it worked, didn't it? You two had fun and now your the cutest couple. But I promise you'll like this surprise." RB: "Fine!" *Covers his eyes as I lead him to the living room* Me: "SURPRISE!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUDDY!!!" *Mitch froze when he saw the cake and tears started forming in his eyes* Me: "What's wrong? Do you not like chocolate? I couldn't remember if you said chocolate or vanilla was your favorite so I went with both, but if you don't like it, I can run to the store and..." *Cut off by him hugging me, a smile on his cute raccoon face* RB: "I love it!!! I'm just a little overwhelmed by how much you've done for me these past few months! I can't thank you enough!" Me: *Happily hugs him back* "Well, if I get this much gratitude for a simple cake, maybe I shouldn't show you your presents, lest you flood the house." *Shows him the room. It's decorated with gaming posters, a few books, a new bed and dresser and a couple other boy things I know he likes. On the bed there's also a few presents: more shirts, a baseball glove, video games and...a pair of noise cancelling headphones* RB: "This... This is all for me?" Me: "Yep!! I say it's about time you got off the couch and into a room of your own. The other neighbors helped me decorate it." RB: *More tears fall as he sat down on his bed, feeling it's softness and comfort* "This... It's...I have no words." Me: *Sits beside him and pulls him into a hug* "That's okay. When you're family, you don't need words. Happy birthday, Mitch."

I think he's as touched by us remembering a throwaway comment he made once about when he'd like his birthday and us taking him literally as the actual cake :) I love his humor and sweet nature. Id love to see you do a crossover with Redacted. I feel like this guy and Asher would get on famously :)
