  • Light winds, never more than about 14 or 15, but this boat makes so much power it doesn't matter. It'll go in just about anything.
I hate nearly everything about this boat. It’s cumbersome to trailer, takes well over an hour to rig (and again when you de-rig), is a pain in the ass to launch and it seems like every other time out something breaks. Even on a good day I come back and discover cuts, bruises, disjointed digits and other maladies that I don’t remember happening. I doubt I’ve ever cursed anything as much as I have this boat. But…
I’ve sailed a LOT of boats and everything else is just a toy. This thing provides a feeling that must be similar to what crackheads experience - you know you need to ditch the habit but in that moment when it powers up and takes off there’s not much else you’d rather be doing… And this was a light air day…

Hey Tom. It looks like a beast, but I can see that it's no where near the refined boat that the Weta is. Still, I would love to take it for a ride someday. Have you ever thought about a foiler? like a Skeeta?

It's a much more elaborate boat than the Weta, with a much more modern hull design. It's also MUCH faster and more powerful. But you won't put it together in 15 minutes like the Weta. I also have a Ketterman/Hobie Trifoiler. Still holds the Class A speed record over a measured mile and nothing else has yet to touch its design and technology. But foiling isn't the end-all, be-all that so many think it is. I don't know how to describe it other than to say it's not quite sailing... ruclips.net/video/VqMDxPnT5rE/видео.html
