I had the pocket for about a week have about 200 hours in a sim and couldn’t be any happier just recently upgraded the gimbles and was such a game changer makes it that much better
nice, as a hybrid pincher i feel my index finger slipping of the side. hence why i changed to the other ones!. gotta check out the ao01's for the pocket as well it seems :) thanks!
@@pd5156 Several Tx from Spektrum for a few years, then I moved away from that brand to some Devo 7e and 6s, a Jumper T8SG, Radiomaster TX8, Radiomaster TX12, and am using 2 Pockets now. Why, you ask? Mostly size, it’s easy to throw a Pocket in a small backpack with my Fatsharks and some quads in printed boxes. BTW, I have a nice box for the Pocket on Thingiverse (a remix), that fits the TX like a glove.
So You have both Boxer and Pocket. Im currently using Pocket. Bought it as a starting point for sim thinking I'm going to give up it when I learn how to fly. Unfortunately, I liked it and am starting to think about my first drone. Of course, I am faced with the dilemma of selling the Pocket and buying a Boxer. I made some modifications, a spacer for the gimbal and longer stick ends for longer throw. Will I feel a difference in flying when switching to the Boxer? Honestly, mini gimbals and compact controllers like tango 2 or Zorro appeal to me more. However, both Zorro and tango have drawbacks in the way they are powered (fixed battery and nonsensical design choice (?) of powering Zorro via 18350 batteries). I cant just try other controles without buying them first... But Ive read stories when ppl swap full size gimbals for mini or nano pocket and they are happy about it.
Having both the boxer and pocket, (and also a tx16s, I find the pocket fine for small trips, but if I’m planning to bring more stuff and space/weight isn’t a concern I would bring the boxer. I personally like the larger gimbals, which gives med more resolution. I know people who prefer the small gimbals over large ones and vise versa. Ultimately, each radio feels different and there isn’t one radio fits all. As you stated you are not in a place where you can try other radios before you buy them, which I get as it’s the same for me, but if you can find any pilots nearby who has it, I would highly recommend you doing so. I chose to pick up the pocket without trying it first, but it’s also a lot cheaper.
thanks!. I just opened the first page I found about the boxer. I might have a project I could use your help with :D ill let you know more over discord :) and if you're ever in Demark, let me know :D
Or you can do what most do and use small compact dji remote. Love building but anything that makes it easier is easy choice for some. Flying is awesome specially with new tech!
thanks for your comment! I meet very few people who use the DJI remotes for FPV drones other than the Neo/Avata. And i personally very much prefer to have the radio signal separated from the video signal. But yes flying is very fun!
one of my first radios was the tango2, and it was very nice, but I mostly prefer the internal modules. the tango2 is not a bad choice if you don't mind the external module
Absolutely! As a first radio it’s perfect, is it’s very affordable, just make sure you get the ELRS version. And further down the line you don’t have to upgrade, if you don’t want
@@RaukFPV I was aware of the ELRS-thing! thanks for the recommendation, ordering one soon! might go for one of the Pocket Crushes, liking the colors more than the "boring" black :D
could be cool to lower the music when you talk and not using audio ducker, like when you talk lower the volume, and when you show things put it up again, idk if you understand the difference

Do you use the standard stickerends with the ag01 as well?
@ yea standard although in future I might look into upgrading those too I been loving the stock ones note I’m a pincher when flying

You've had the pocket for a week and 200 hours in a sim?
I assume 200 hours in general? lol
...not being a jerk, just threw me off lol
@ your good lol I ment to say a few weeks I got around Christmas when rotor riot had those crazy deals
Love my Pockets, I haven't touch another TX since I got them.
It is pretty nice!
What other controlers do You used and why You stick with the Pocket? @FPVisnotacrime?

What do you think about another option like TBS Tango 2 with the rear module for ELRS?

do you think the pocket is worth it as a first radio? thinking of getting one for simulators and maybe for FPVs later on.

If they made an orange one I could be tempted, 😅 the crushes does look nice!

it makes sense :) i did use ducking, but i might not have used enough. thanks for the feedback, ill try it next time.
@@RaukFPV just my point of view, could ad more delay on the release maybe
It’s nice to get some feedback! Appreciate it, will try adding some more delay next time!
