Successful Spine Surgery for Cervical Myelopathy & Lumbar canal stenosis done same day [two surgery]

When a patient has compression in spine at 2 different regions causing symptoms, it is called Tandem stenosis. Patient can have problem in cervical or dorsal spine and Lumbar spine.
This patient presented to us with Neck pain,weakness in both hands, tingling and progressive walking difficulty. He also had pain going into legs which used to increase with walking and get better with rest.
His MRI showed Disc herniation with cervical cord compression and cord oedema. His Lumbar spine had multilevel Lumbar canal stenosis with with multilevel compression.
He underwent ACDF (Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion) and lumbar decompression in same sitting. He is recovering well after surgery.
