Great video. The one thing that is missing from sheets but is there in excel is the ability to use a formula to calculate the dropdowns. This one thing would completely eliminate your Aux sheet and also allow for inserting rows
Thanks for the video. I need to add a dropdown where I can add information I perform wedding ceremonies I need to add the location with the address name of venue ext is that possible?
Is there a formula to dynamically track the visible rows after sorting and totaling them? I have a Transaction sheet with 10 rows of data. When I sort I want the items in the Amount column to get totaled and placed in The Grand Totals column. Is right now is it's adding ALL Amounts and displaying it in the Totals and if I sort but another criteria the Grand Total stays the same instead of changing to only what is showing.
Is there a way to calculate the categories. For example if you had a spread sheet with multiple countries and people who lived in those countries, would you be able to calculate how many people live in the specific countries.
Awesome video, thank you! Quick question, is there a way to make sure the transposed formula goes to infinity, or is not defined by the last row? The conditional formatting sheet I'm using will eventually contain more than 1000 rows.
Hello! Unfortunately the dropdowns are not able to bring links What you could do is use VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP to bring the hyperlink to the right or below of your selection Don´t know if that could work Regards!
I have one data validation range I want to use and 3 different criteria ranges(located in three different columns). Is there any way to include all three criteria ranges to that one data validation range? I spent an hour trying to find a solution, but I have yet to find someone who has covered this specific situation. I would really appreciate some advice. Best regards!
Hello! I dont understand correctly By validation range you mean a column or columns where you will display the popup? And by criteria range, you mean three columns or lists with different values, and you want to combine these 3 to show in the dropdown for the "validation range"? Regards!
Let's say my one list [in sheet1 is: computer, cat, microwave, dog. (in sheet2) I have two two different areas(one found in column C and another one in column E) in which I need the dropdown list to show up (to separate animals from electronics). I hope this makes more sense and thank you for replying.

How do I use my drop down as a list for others also to see? On viewer or commentor they can't see the list of items. I don't want this worksheet to be changed other than by myself.

Interesting. You may try with an ArrayFormula or Lambda function, or open 5000 rows from the start
