My son is now driving the 2003 Mazda Protege5 I bought 20 years ago, and the Hyundai Kona N is the best car I could find to replace it. One of the things I did to upgrade that Protege5 was to install Hushmat on the inside metal surfaces all around. Hushmat is a rubber-based insulating material that adheres to the inside of the car's body panels, drastically reducing road noise, body panel vibration, and heat transference. Also, residing as we do in Arizona, I really wish the Kona N we get in the States was equipped with ventilated seats. The Euro- and Aussie-spec versions DO have this feature, and there most be some way Hyundai USA could offer the system as a dealer-installed upgrade that would not void the warranty. Gotta say the ventilated seats in our 2019 KIA Sorento really have me spoiled.
Hey man good news but if u want safety durability stability flat real sound of engine real sport u no need much tuned this beast can do all and many likes n performance they know is so cool Kona or Elantra different character of car.
Kia--Hyundai actually have some of the stronger AC's on the market of any vehicle.I just had a 2021 CX-30 turbo premium plus and just traded it in on a Kona N and the Konas AC is very strong--just used it on a 90 day temp here in Ga and had to turn it down after a few minutes--my CX-30 had to be on full blast to keep the car comforatble--my 2020 stinger Gt 3.3TT would literally freeze you.
Got the Flow Splitter kit, hoping to install soon! Also looking at lowering springs in the future. Unfortunately the US seems limited compared to the European or South Korean market with N specific parts. Can't wait to see your build, looks like a great list!
I am about to add a RaceChip GTS. Will let you know what the outcome is as I swapped the Kona for a BMW M2 Comp. Not really interested in cosmetic upgrades. I care about performance and sound above all else.
Go for suspension mods first it will exponentially upgrade the driving experience and make adjustments when you get wheels a breeze with coilovers, anti-roll bars
the stuff in the cracks around the taillights ect.. im thinking its leftover buffing/rubbing compound. I bet it would come right off if you get a rag and a paper clip
Mine came with roof rails but I would trade them for a white car instead lol. I wish I could retro LED projector lights but given the odd reflector led headlights they have, it seems like it'll be a pain.
Flow is cool but high priced. Check out different brake pads instead of tossing down money for new calipers.I will be switching my fluid over to motul 5.1 hope to find some stainless braided brake lines.Get the motor mount from Sixth element its more beefy then boomba just my opinion and a reviewer on their site didn't like the boomba looking at the 2 I see why. Take off the ring that will help with any scratches on the wheel.Dont remember the name but there is a co. out there that makes a custom wheel to your specs you can even have rev lights in it.
The brakes on this car are great as it is. If they can take down giants like M cars and Porsche on the ring. They are more than overkill on the street. So many people go nuts putting track brakes on street cars and then complain they almost ran thru a stop sign on the way to work. Lol. Also the sixth rear trans mount looks way more stout than the boomba.
They are great but I have always upgraded my brakes with better rotors to match the kona N's--N brakes.I put geomet cross drilled rotors on my 2020 stinger and it made the brakes track ready and in the street the extra braking power could save you from wrecking.I plan on putting geomet cross drilled on the back only just to give them more bite as the 14.2 N front brakes are very very good--on par with an Audi A6 i just drove and that is an almost 70k vehicle.Intakes are hit and miss unless done rt they can actually suck in warmer air and cause you to lose HP in may conditions and I will wait untill some have been tested on the dyno.
Anyone find all season floor mats with the N logo on them? The stock velour ones that came with with my Kona N aren't going to hold up well in the Northeast weather.
Same in Oz, we get these rims too. It's all personal preference, BUT I do love the Euro/i30N facelift wheels myself. Wish we could all just get the same stuff 🙄
I just picked up my Kona N this afternoon! Looking forward to following you.
Hey that's awesome, congrats! Hope you enjoy your new KN and the content!
Loving the videos, man! Just subscribed. Keep it up!

Yes I agree and it’s something I actually forgot to mention in this video!
Cool vid.
Trying to Frankenstein my own intake together that's not 400-500$$ for one bent tube. haha.
the stuff in the cracks around the taillights ect.. im thinking its leftover buffing/rubbing compound. I bet it would come right off if you get a rag and a paper clip
Okay, that makes sense.. Thanks for the comment!
Jesus I thought I was bad, lol, have fun!
You have plenty of brakes for the amount of power it has.

I'd honestly take the car to dealer and have it resprayed under warranty. Cuz they do have warranty on the paint

You’re another person recommending the sxth motor mount so I’m definitely interested in that now.. Thanks!

I haven’t seen anything like that yet.. I agree! I live in northwest ohio so I definitely understand what you’re talking about! Lol
Looks like you didn’t like the car totally
lol the uk-german wheels look so much better and there forged wheels , that ones you got in the US look so shitty compared to EU version !!
I actually prefer the look of the US rims.. Its all just personal opinion.
