    I have read the story of the actual events this movie is based on and what truly disturbs me is that the first victim was seen by many motorists running away from her abductor, with the bottom half of her body naked, crying and yelling for help and NOBODY stopped to help her. I can only hope Karma paid each one of them tri-fold. Perhaps if one of those cowards stopped to help her she would still be alive today. Also, it's unbelievable that the evidence in case of the first and the last victim was lost or destroyed. With the advances in genetic testing it could possibly lead to the perpetrators who committed those crimes. BTW I believe those were two different people.

    • @trevorregay9283
      @trevorregay9283 28 дней назад +15

      yeah, terrible and what would it have taken to stop? It most likely would have scared the killer off without confronting him....and who knows, might have deterred him from killing the other girls as well.........

      @madonnablagdon4566 The killer, but those who ignored her share some responsibility too. The lack of empathy is terrifying. Poor, poor child. 😥

    • @dragonlet64
      @dragonlet64 27 дней назад +11

      @madonnablagdon4566 They also never found the perpetrator(s). Everything I read after watching the movie made me believe the first girl, it was her uncle. The two other girls, it was someone else. And the police LOST the genetic evidence. They only have the samples from the 2nd child. I also read that there was a suspect who went to jail, and after 30 years they let him out. And apparently they claim they don't have a genetic material from him to compare. After 30 years in jail, they don't have his DNA?! Unbelievable!

    This is actually a very good movie. One for 'film buffs' - people who don't need a happy ending, or to know what's happening all the time. Very good performances and lots of stars. Quite disturbing, but more satisfying than movies from the 2020s.

      She is also a fictional character......and not part of the "based on a true story" btw.........I actually was more intrigued about her existence than I was about the REAL murders......the only truth to this film is that 3 young girls were all killed in similar manner in the Rochester NY area from 1971 to 1973 and then the killing stopped......and no one was ever caught.....these FACTS tend to suggest the murderer either died or got imprisoned for something else, or even another murder that wasn't a child. It's also possible the killer committed suicide.......of course, this was way before DNA testing and cell phones. They had a scene which depicted one of the murder victims had a cell phone which she had left at home the day she was murdered......

But in the upstate NY case the same name of one of the girls was Carmen Colon aged 11. They think he's the one that did these three as well. The true basis of this story happened in the early 70s, so, of course, there were no cell phones then....unless of course you were a time traveler.......or from Star Trek.........just saying....

    • @siggysue1968

      Actually. The parents of the 2nd victim had their daughter's cell phone.
      Remember, the father all freaked out cause she forgot her phone at home so couldn't call him to help when she needed him.
      Mother took from his hands and gave to cops so they had a list of her friends.

      @@siggysue1968 ok sure, but again, the based on true events that happened in1971 to 1973....my point is, obviously there were NO cellphones then.....and this film gives the impression it happened in the 2000s.....also, they talked about matching cat hair DNA, again,technology that's did not exist in the early 1970s.....

      The movie clearly said she's schizophrenic, not psychic. That's why the character is portrayed in this way. If she were sane and a psychic, it'd be very different how she was portrayed.

    YT crime movies are really educating me.. I had not realized that most of the best Detectives are young, 20'ish females who gave up catwalk modelling to catch serial killers ... and show lesser talented male Detectives how its done.
