This is really helpful. I'm a beginner trumpet player, and I seem to be a 'pressure player' as I get a sore top lip after half an hour of playing. I seem to press my lips too hard against the mouthpiece when I try and hit high notes, and my teacher says I 'retreat' into my shoulders at the same time. Not sure how to combat that, but I've only had one lesson with this teacher so far, so I'll work on that.
