- Hi and welcome to Little Bird Blythe! Happy New Year everyone! The best way to start 2019 is with a new dolly! So I'm unboxing my new custom blythe doll and hope you enjoy meeting her - her name is Freya and she has the softest hair and a gorgeous faceplate by blythe adore. I'm very happy to have her!!

I know what is this because I am a doll customizer and doing re-root takes a long time. I don't have now in my shop dolls with re-root because I can not afford it now.

LittleBird Blythe thank you so much for the sweet reply. I agree with you! I have looked at at a lot of them but trying to stay within a budget, so yesterday I decided that I will probably buy one of those customized dolls more towards mid year but for now, I went for a fake Blythe but bought a customized faceplate, so that means that I will have to take the doll’s head apart and put the new one in. I’ve never done it, so that’s both scary and excited. I must be crazy, but I think that with so many tutorials including yours, I should be ok. I also plan on buying a better scalp with better hair in the coming weeks and new more realistic eye chips and maybe giving her some freckles. The customized faceplate is from Ali Express by the way, but it’s really cute. Has super cute carved lips, I would never do anything to an expensive customized faceplate. I’m very crafty, so I will make some clothes for her and hats. Any idea on how to make her better look more matte and better in the meantime? Any ways, I’m purchasing the doll and faceplate tomorrow and have enough time to make her something cute to wear while I wait for her to arrive, as she will be nude. So that’s the update. Monica Melgar Hi! That all sounds fab! I think creating a doll yourself that way is a great idea. The first time opening a doll is scary so it’s better to do it with a factory doll in my opinion. You can sand the faces and/or spray the factory faces to mattify them if you don’t like the shine, the popular spray is mr super clear flat matt but be careful as it’s nasty stuff you don’t want to breathe it in (or the dust if you are sanding) so make sure you take appropriate safety precautions! The custom faceplates are a great affordable way to get a custom doll. There are some great scalps around too. The mohair ones can seem expensive but they really make such a difference to the look although fixing a mohair wig to a scalp worked well too for a couple of my dolls. You’ll have a great time making up your new doll, I look forward to hearing more updates! Take care, you have a fab weekend too xxx

I think it will be lots of fun, if she ever gets her omg it takes forever for the parcels to be actually shipped out, but she is finally on her way 🙂 in the meantime, I’m making some clothes for her since the little Missy is traveling nude. I managed to make some jeans for her and a little outfit with a pillowcase blouse and boho pants. Working on some more stuff today. Did my research and most of the materials I need to customize I can find here but the Mr Superclear I will have to order. Any ways, having much fun already even though making tiny clothes is really something else, no wonder they are so expensive! She doesn’t have a name yet, having a hard time coming up with one. How exciting, hopefully she will be with you soon then if not already...? Yes making tiny clothes can take time and lots of patience too. I struggle with coming up with names but it's easier when they are with you. My daughter is much better at naming them than me! I hope you are having a great week too! xxx
