Federal Signal SD-10 Lake Lotawana, MO

After Holden I decided it was time to record another siren in Lake Lotawana. I decided to check out the SD-10 off Hwy 7 just south of Colbern road at the entrance of Lake Shore drive, can’t miss it.
This was my first time hearing an SD-10 and it was surprisingly loud when it activated. After the siren shuts down you can hear some 2001 ambience from Lee’s Summit and surrounding areas. By some miracle I actually could hear the sick Thunderbolt off Hwy 50 about 4 miles away cutting through the 2001s.
Lake Lotawana has 2 SD-10s, the chopper level 7 Thunderbolt 1000B at the south side of the lake, the Federal RSH-10B Thunderbeam in the neighborhood by Tarsney Lake, and some independently powered 2001s.
Goes off for one minute on the first Wednesday of each month at 11:00am under good weather.

That thunderbolt just won't die!

It’s still going surprisingly. I’m actually impressed that despite having the electrical issue with the collector rings the thunderbolt’s sound was still cutting through the 2001 ambience. There are a few 2001s in the path between the SD-10 in this video and the Thunderbolt.

@@1000BT Definitely! It could be fixed but it will most likely end up getting replaced soon anyway because BVPS is getting the entire KC Metro upgraded to all battery backup.
