Planning a local overnight trip here in Sweden first and then maybe a weekend over in Denmark in July. Just need to get some kit for my bike. Yep I subbed :)
I've been on the island five times. Backpacking once, bike riding three times, and one bus tour last year (not in shape anymore to do the hiking/biking- bad back) Anyway, beautiful area with a lot of history. I would recommend reading the book "A Face in the Rock' for some of the Native American history of the island. PS - The flowers shown in the video are Bunchberry, not Thimbleberry. Thimbleberry is related to Raspberry. Bunchberry is in the dogwood family.
Oh my gosh you two!!!!! My husband and I just laughed and laughed. He said, "Honey, those kids don't know what they are doing!!!!" At any rate, you answered our question... Could we old folks do it???? Uh, that would be a resounding NO!!!!! Loved watching! Y'all are too cute for color t. v.
Mike INC Aw crap, I thought I did. Well I did just now. Check out some of my videos @ Bikey Mike. I'm headed to Oscoda this Saturday for a week. I will be bike packing/ camping along the Ausable River. I'm gonna hit up all the Dams and fish. It will be my first time primitive camping. { nervous }
If you watch my videos I get a little goofy, lol. I was on pain Meds for my MS. I am happy to say that most of the pain has gone away though. Thank God.
Great video. Never thought about bikepacking Grand Island. I am now. Do you have some details about your route? Mileage, terrain, etc. What happened to the audio on the chest camera?
It's hilly and sandy with some black dirt and loam mixed in. Great experience, just lots of mosquitoes. I think the whole loop is 18 miles? We did it over 1.5 days, that was an ok pace for us! Not sure about the audio, I may have bumped the mic.
Great vid guys very inspiring, hope to get out and try some bikepacking too soon.
Finarvas thanks! Where you going? We’ve got more videos on the way, consider subscribing!

What month of the year did you do this trip?
That looked like a great place to bike pack and camp. Maybe a trip in the late fall to avoid mosquitoes.

Is that Pressie (the Lake Superior sea monster) caught on camera at 20:18 - 20:20 of your video?! 😁
Bring some deet next time! Looked fun.
Your first mistake was making her haul your crap, Susie.
