      To understand a little bit how are they doing those huge sound reductions (in a very, very simplified way):
      The thrust of an airplane is based on Newton's 3rd law (action-reaction). Basically, the engines take huge amounts of air and they push them backwards (action) so the airplane is accelerated forwards (reaction).
      That being said, you can do that in 2 different ways (to get the same result):
      1) you can push a little amount of air at a really high speed,
      or
      2) you can push a big amount of air at a lower speed.
      In either option, you get the same forward acceleration.
      Since the air going out of the engines at high speed is what makes the biggest part of the noise, the new-generation engines are getting bigger and bigger so they can push more and more air but at a lower speed.
      Also, and this just as a curiosity, the 70 to 80% of the air that the engine takes, doesn't go through the turbine, so it doesn't burn. That air is just pushed backwards by the fan of the engine and makes around 75% of the total thrust. The other 20 to 30% of the air goes through the turbine, gets burned in the combustion chambers and, apart from giving some thrust, its main purpose is to move the turbine, that in change moves the compressors and the fan.
      I hope I was enough brief, but I think it's interesting to know the very basics of turbofan airplanes. :)

      La verdad es que casi en todo momento del día hay algún avión de Avianca en el aeropuerto de Madrid. Me encantaría poder hacer algún vuelo con ellos, aunque por ahor, el presupuesto lo hace totalmente imposible...

    Bonito vídeo, el avión esta nuevo me ha gustado y Madrid ya sabemos que es un secadero nada que ver con nuestro paisaje del Norte y también me ha impresionado esas nubes sobre los Alpes y si a eso le llamas tu un desayuno como será la comida y lo de menos han sido los reflejos a mi particularmente no me han molestado porque sólo ha sido al principio del vídeo, buen trabajo en general.

      Le llaman el "avión silencioso" y en efecto lo es. Demasiado para mi gusto, la verdad. Me gusta que los motores rujan bien, al menos durante el despegue. Este no hace nada de nada jaja
      En este vuelo tuve la suerte de poder probar la clase business, de ahí ese desayuno completo que sirvieron.

    this type of plane is one of my favourites even though now they call it A220...but it's Bombardier CS300...nice trip report..

    Estupendo el vídeo, y los reflejos ni se han notado. Vaya desayuno¡ Y lo de la tranquilidad, yo rezo siempre por ir en un avión donde la gente esté callada, agradezco el silencio. En mi vuelo a Copenhague con Ryanair había un "gracioso" hablando de desastres aéreos. Estuve a punto de llamar a los tripulantes de cabina. Vaya bobo¡ En fin, son anécdotas, pero para los que nos da un poco de reparo volar, pues imagínate. Así que el silencio es oro. jajajajajaj

    El bombardier cs300 es una gran aeronave, es como un mini dreamliner , muy silencioso , bonito , elegante , ventanas grandes . Una aeronave diseñada completamente desde cero. No como los 737 o los 320 que son los mismos diseños de hace 30 años con modificaciones y mejoras.Espero volar algun dia en el.

      Realmente hice un vuelo a Cancún desde Madrid (y vuelta) hace 6 años, como viaje de mitad de universidad. Desde entonces no he vuelto a hacer ninguno, principalmente, por motivos de presupuesto.
      Los precios de vuelos transatlánticos nada tienen que ver con los europeos. Además de la necesidad de conseguir permisos para entrar en algunos países...

      That's a good question... I understand that for the vast majority of passengers it's not something important. But for me, that I want to record the flight... it makes all the difference... =(

    That's much better meal than last time, isn't it? Also because you got a proper breakfast meal, so well fulfilling!
    Again LX changed your seat, that's not a good gesture, but as I already told you, they arrange the seat assignment in accordance with pax request. It might happened that there was more request in Economy so that they squeeze the Business cabin.
    The first row has good and bad aspects, such as you cannot stretch your legs and cannot leave anything on the floor.
    Also the Lounge in MAD does not seem to have so much choices... Anyway you paid a so cheap extra! Your aim was to fly in Business on A220 for the first time and you did it! 👍

      Thanks, but I'm still a little bit disappointed. It ended being an issue between the colour profile that the S9+ gives to the 4K videos that the Mac computers can't read well. So the Final Cut Pro didn't solve anything. So now, maybe they have a little bit higher quality, but the editing effort has almost doubled...
      The Swiss "changing seat policy" in business class is ridiculous, in my opinion. If the economy class would be fully booked, ok, I would understand it... but it was at 60-65%, there were many free seats.
      What I know now for sure is that I will never, ever again, go in the first row. I really don't know why everybody wants that row. I can understand it in RYR, that you don't have a bulkhead in front of you... but here I really think it's the worst row of the aeroplane (only better than those that are missing window).

      OnBoardHD - Flight Experience Actually I didn't want to tell you, but it's hard for me to notice if the video has been recorded with S9 or S6. I don't find so huge difference. I mean, the quality of your videos filmed on S6 was so good that, yes I can find some color quality difference, but it's quite difficult to see.
      I don't know why you have such kind of issue on S9. I mean, it's newer and should be better in terms of quality, even if the Mac does not recognise the format. It's quite unbelievable for me. The compatibility issues are one of the reasons why I'll not buy other products than Apple. Using the iPhone on the Mac, I've never faced such kind of issues. Even though, I've never filmed on 4K.
      Oh so the flight was not even full! That's non-sense! Did you try to ask the cabin crew for instance? Maybe is that due to weight and balance? Hm... don't think so...
      I fully agree with you. I tried the first row on Lufthansa A320 and Swiss Avro RJ100 Business Class and it was not so comfortable. I mean, you also have the tray table in the armrest, so the seat width is decreased. I much prefer the 2nd row and behind.

      The problem is, probably, my Mac, that doesn't show me how the real colours are in the video... I'm still trying to something to solve it, but nothing works. For example, on my girlfriend's PC, the colours look how they are in reality... Maybe I'll try buying an external screen for the Mac... (checking if it works before buying it, of course haha)
      What I don't like about the S9+ is that the stabilization in 4K is worse than in the S6. I think I'll try to record 4K in 60fps, that way the movements look softer I think.
      I don't know where is the empty weight centre of gravity (CG) in the A220, but usually what the airlines do moving passengers is to put them as rear as possible, to move the CG rearwards (less fuel consumption that way because of the tail horizontal stabilizer has to do less force, basically). So putting them more forward doesn't make sense thinking that way. I don't know...
      By the way, I've just bought some flights for September, including flights in the CRJ1000 and CRJ200 and one flight that I was looking for a long time: from the Canary Islands to Poland. Tenerife South to Warsaw, in this case. :)

      OnBoardHD - Flight Experience Hm... that's very strange... I don't know how to help you, as you already purchased FCP and now you are going to buy another screen... You are spending so much money for this issue and feel so sorry for that.
      Regarding the stabilisation, actually I noticed it too, some scenes are very stable, others not, but didn't know why. Your S6 was actually generally more stable I think. Try using another setting and see if the stabilisation improves. I feel very disappointed for you about the S9+. I expected much more improvements.
      Yeah, you are right regarding the balance. Usually moving pax rearwards, it's better. Don't know why Swiss follows such kind of policy, really... that's a mystery...
      CRJ-1000? Wow! I've just flown on it on Air Nostrum from IBZ to PMI! That's a veeeery long aircraft! Which routes will you be flying on those aircraft?
      TFS to WAW? Direct? Really? 😲 I can't believe...

      Luckily, I've checked it in my fathers macbook using his FCP license. I would feel really bad if I would have paid it for nothing.
      Another solution is to edit on a PC... I'll check that option too...
      The routes are SCQ-TFN with the CRK and PMI-SCQ on the CRJ200. 😊
      Absolutely correct: TFS-WMI with Ryanair. Also WMI-MAD with RYR.

      I can try, but even if I book some flights with TAP, it would be really difficult to be lucky and fly in one of those specific models, since they just have a few, compared with all the other fleet...

      Not yet, as only one airline in Norway operates it. But in the future, I'll try, of course. :)
      For now, I'll be flying in September for the first time in the channel: CRJ200 and CRJ1000. :)

    Why "Airbus A220"?? In my own opinion this aircraft isn,t definetely an Airbus-plane. But sorry, if I misintepreting something. Never before I,ve heard anything regarding an Airbus A220. Yes. Indeed this aircraft looks like a Bombardier CS-300 series aircraft.

      Seems you have not kept up with news Markus, Airbus bought controlling shares in Bombardier earlier in year.

      As John K sais, Airbus bought all the Cseries line to Bombardier some months ago, giving them the new name A220 (-100 to the CS100 and -300 to the CS300).

      Airbus bought all the Cseries program. The name since more than 1 month ago is A220.

    Sigue siendo un C-Series y siempre lo será. Maldito Airbus y sus nombres moñas. Queda feo para mi gusto llamarlo A220. Con la costumbre ya son CS100 y CS300 xD

      Well, typical European flights are not more than 2h long so you can not expect a super-product because there is not enough time for it. That being said, it could be something like the US flights, for example? Maybe. It would be nice indeed. :)
