I agree, the natural look of the wood goes good.
For sure, looks to nice to just cover it all up
Awsome to see all the pieces come together. I’ve enjoyed this series so much! Great job @NE_Overlanding 👍🚐
Thank you man, it’s starting to really take shape and I love how it’s come out so far!
Its coming together so good, cant wait to see the end result
One day at a time!
Great looking interior! Getting some ideas from you for my 2010 econoline.
Thank you! And yes I’ve learned a lot from watching others videos, definitely a nice tool to have
Looks great man! Well done! Watching this series definitely helped me sort my thoughts about my van build - so thanks for posting these videos!
I’m glad you enjoyed them! There will be more soon just have been held up waiting for things that I had to order. I appreciate the comment because that’s why I make these videos so that makes it all worth it👍🏻
Thanks for the shout out on the template! You and I both know firsthand how freaking difficult and frustrating it is to cut and install stuff in these vans. There's nothing square and one measurement can be off just a little further down because of the way these are built. For little carpentry skills as you say, you should give yourself a big pat on the back (and drink a cold one, or two, or three lol) for an awesome job! Keep up the great work - I'm still spinning my wheels apparently with little progress, but damn, I'm getting the urge to hit the road a little!!
Thank you man! I’ve done foundations all my life so I know my way around tools and have been a mechanic so it all comes pretty natural I had just never jumped head first into anything like this when it comes to finish work or wiring or plumbing and I’ve learned so much now I’m so glad I did it, and I’m in the same boat I’m at the point now I could throw a mattress in it and go camping for the weekend and be happy haha I wish it was a bit newer so I didn’t have so much body work to take care of first
And no problem on the shout out I had just watched your video so it was fresh in my mind, I enjoy your content a lot and learn from it, hope to see some new videos soon!
@@NE_Overlanding the northeast winter/salt shit! One of the main things that helped seal the deal on my van was the fact the previous owner bought it new then had it rustproofed and undercoated. I always use Fluid Film on my Jeep and so does my son on his jeep. I have my memory foam mattress, but I can't find anyone with an electric knife so I can cut 3" off it lol. I mean, what the hell does everyone do for Thanksgiving? I saw an ad where a guy in California wants to get rid of his black bumpers. Mine are chrome and I want to go all blackout. Too bad he's so far away - could be a road trip!
@@ADKOverlandNY I wonder if you could heat up a long knife a cut it like a hot knife instead of actually using the blade? I could be totally wrong. And yeah these rust out so fast my next van will 100% be rust free haha
I have heard you should punch holes in bed platform to promote circulation to keep mattress from gettin moldy
probably at least cut a little weight if nothing else
Yes! And they make a this Mat that goes under the mattress that creates a small gap to let air flow, they are in roof top tents a lot too, I’ll be putting some holes in there though before I get the mattress in and what not
