That was one of the most interesting videos I have ever watched! Your commentary is quite humorous as well.Very interesting. Your patience is outstanding, but sometimes things don't work out the way we want. Anyway, my suggestion is not to return it, but buy another one. Then you'll have lots of spare parts for next time. They are very inexpensive.
Thank you for not giving up, been there done that, too bad the coil resistance was too high and it did not work in the end. I actually have ordered a drum watch yesterday and can't wait for it to arrive. Hope you are getting your money back, I know it is a pain to deal with Chinese sellers. Was really curious how the watch worked and now I know every detail of it thanks to you. I was gonna say look for replacement motors or coils, but I am sure it would cost more than a whole new watch, maybe by a second and have spare parts for any future repairs. Thank you again for taking your time and for making this video, I watched every minute of it and do not regret it, just hoped it had worked after all your troubles and tries. Take care and GOOD LUCK, I can use some as well :-)
Good video. I can't believe you put yourself through all that. I was hoping that you would have fixed it in the end. I have one of those watches, different brand but they all have the same movement. It was real interesting to see how it works too.
Thank u so much for putting all the efforts and sharing this attempt of fixing the watch with us! Really interesting topic for me cause i personally liked the concept of drm roller watch and am about to buy myself one! i just hope i don t receive a defective product like urs and i still like the idea of the watch! I wish they can make the shape of it to look like a drum or a cylinder, i think it will look even nicer!
I have the SKMEI 1546 model. It's the same except that the case is made of plastic. It stopped after using it for 2 years. But I guess it needs battery replacement. It's a very nice watch though. Unique design. But the manufacturer could have done much better quality control after watching this video.
Yup, did my best, but it was just too far gone. I got my money back, so that is ok. I also hope yours works as they are really nice to see changing time :)
I have one for 3 years now and it works fine, it did handle the daily abuse and I'm surprised tho, maybe I'm just lucky, I came here to see the internal structure as I plan to do some modifications to it but it seems that its a low budget watch tho
Seems those coils can burn out / break anytime. Thanks for showing the mechanism and trying of all possible permutation and combinations yo make it work. I need not buy it now.
Nice try. Well done. 👍 quite interesting design that they used 3 coil mechanism for each roller and single quartz for all 3. The replacement coil is not right. Chinese cheap coils come with no protection coating and wires are directly soldered into the circuit board(use and throw).

Really cool to discover the mechanism for this type of drum watch. Thanks!
Welcome! ✌🏼
Thanks a lot for the video! Was curious about how this watch worked so almost bought the watch to take it appart. Really cool and small mechanism :)
Yes, it's really cool. Quite sad I could not fix this one, but for sure I will buy another one someday.

Yes, I agree, this watches could be much better with just a little bit more care on the production line.

Thanks for your video! the curiosity was killing me, that motor thing is really interesting, does it has a model number or specific name?
-Thanks!
Hello. Thank you for watching! Search on ebay for "skmei drum watch".
I have one for 3 years now and it works fine, it did handle the daily abuse and I'm surprised tho, maybe I'm just lucky, I came here to see the internal structure as I plan to do some modifications to it but it seems that its a low budget watch tho
Yes, quite low budget. But if it lasted 3 years of daily use, that is quite good.
Very interesting.
Nicer design than I expected.
Thanks. can you measure the size of the motors? in millimeters please
Sorry, but I don't have enough time to open it up again now.
Super!
Thank you! Cheers!
