Great tips! I like how you take time and explain things like a story . I wanted to plan a trip from Europe to Asia . With the jet lag how long do you stay in one place ? I think you said 1-2 weeks .

Thanks for the comment, Katherine. We typically stay in a region for 2-3 months but usually about a week or so in any one place. There have been some places where we stayed longer. We're planning our next 3 month trip right now and one thing we keep in mind is to minimize the number of consecutive or nearly-consecutive travel days.

    Hi Jay,
Greeting from Sydney, Australia. Like you I am passionate about traveling in my retirement. I have Viking ancestry also!. Your vlogs are of great relevance to my spouse and I, including travel budgeting. My question is about how to fund retirement travel: do you use your financial investment returns / pension income, or capital drawdowns, or a combination of both, to fund you trips? Keep up the good work on how to enjoy retirement!
    Best regards,
    Jay

Hi Jay, Thank you for your comment. We fund our retirement travel through a combination of pension income and overall portfolio drawdown. We've always kept close track of our expenses, including travel, so it's an ongoing process of determining how much we can comfortably spend each year and on each trip. We know some trips will be more expensive than others and by recognizing this and budgeting accordingly it takes a lot of stress out of the equation. Thanks for watching and keep on traveling.
