    When pronouncing words in Nahuatl, the l is silent.
    Example: in english they spell it "Quetzalcoatl" we write it Ketzalcoatl, it is pronounced
    "ket-zal-Ko-oT" the T is hard stop.
    The l is silent.
    Xochi = Sho-chi.
    Tepetl = te-peT.

      They took pretty much everything ..... cholula is the the oldest town on America and it has around 300 pyramids when Spanish arrived ( some like this one already abandoned long time ago) and they destroyed them and built churches... now chulula has around 300 churches... they didn't destroyed this one because it was abandoned already and looks like a regular mountain

    Cholula is Amazing!
    For a moment, looking at the oldest structure shown near the end of the video, I could imagine how beautiful it was when new. It would have been Breath taking! It still is 12,000 years after the original build.
    Thank you so much for this.

      @JohnSmith-wo2fz 5 лет назад

      The native people of mexico didn't build them. They arrived AFTER the megalithic stuff was built. Look around at your people now. Do you think they would be capable of the craftsmanship, ingenuity and skill required to build the megalithic monuments? You know the answer. Groups of people have always moved and relocated all over the surface of the earth. Just like the current Turkish people who are actually from Mongolia.

    Regardless of *when* or *why* these amazing projects were realized... just imagining the will and cooperation over such a long period of time to complete this.. whether be it a single "race" or "culture" or over generations of inhabitants from near and/or afar... that, I think, is what awestrucks me the most to conceptualize -- especially in our modern day of *social* networks and smartphone addiction.

    Once again, the earliest construction is the grandest and most precise. Once again mainstream is guestimating age of structure. My guess would be about 10,000BC and then just like all of the other massive megalithic structures worldwide, destroyed and buried by cataclysm.

If they were original to the tunnels, then whoever originally dug them knew the arch would strengthen them. So that tells you that either they were pretty intelligent. Brien, love your presentations. Would love to join one of your tours some day, butdon't have the wherewithal, so have to live vicariously through your videos... I'm going away from the topic of this vid to pose a question to you simply because it's your newest post. I have a question regarding Puma Punku and Tiwanaku -- has anyone dated the MUD that covers those two sites, especially the the 2 meters or so covering Tiwanaku? Surely there must be layering and or some organic material entombed in that mud, especially the lower layers, that could definitively date, if not the age of the stone structures, at least the date of the mud deposit, and therefore the time of destruction. Thanks in advance if you read and answer this.

Seems like that might be your answer to why they never dug deeper -- to whit: they found what they needed to "verify" "accepted wisdom", and stopped, afraid to go any deeper, thus explaining their curt answers to you.

    You folks that follow pyramids should read the book "Egypt 39,000 BC" it explains the true purpose of the pyramids in egypt. They were not temples, they were not religious/sacred, they were not tombs, they were not for sacrifice. They were designed as huge water pumps to force water from underground to the surface for water irrigation. If you find a pyramid, there is water nearby. They were also designed acoustically to emit EM frequencies for maximize food yields. Pyramids were designed for food production assistance, it's that simple, nothing else.

    WRT the blocked off tunnels, I would think you might have trouble at the end of the day finding and clearing out all the tourists lost inside if the path wasn't restricted to a linear route.

    An Ariel view would have been good, as it didn’t look much like a pyramid from ground level 😀

    06:44 How is it that Mayan construction looks less precise then Olmec or older, yet the Olmec head statue features are far less superior then those of the Maya iconography?
