They took pretty much everything ..... cholula is the the oldest town on America and it has around 300 pyramids when Spanish arrived ( some like this one already abandoned long time ago) and they destroyed them and built churches... now chulula has around 300 churches... they didn't destroyed this one because it was abandoned already and looks like a regular mountain

I was there in 1998 or 99. Air quality was fine. I don't remember any oversize rooms, mostly narrow tunnels and lots of stairways with locked grates in front.

Were the original tunnels discovered with the arched ceilings or was the arched ceilings added to the original tunnels when they were being excavated? If they were original to the tunnels, then whoever originally dug them knew the arch would strengthen them. So that tells you that either they were pretty intelligent.
