If you are into tools and equipment related to lawn care. This is the place for you. Unboxing, quick looks and reviews of lawn mower, line trimmers and any thing else you can think of. No brand is off limits, Stihl, Husqvarna, Honda, Masport, Ryobi, Scag, Ego, Milwaukee, Makita, Dewault, Toro and any other you can think of.
Nothing beats petrol
How do you rate this mower from initial impressions compared to ego, or the ST19 60v masport you tested?
Thank you for the review on the Honda and I was hoping you can help me on future reviews is to specify what the electric mower base is made off. Coming from the old Massport and Honda petrol which had a solid die cast aluminium bases which never rusted but due my aging body was unable to start them anymore decided to buy a 58 V AEG mower kit. The AEG base is made of a pressed steel then painted. After 5 years the base is heavy rusted, and all the 7 batteries purchased in that time frame developed faults. AEG to its credit had refunded money for some of the batteries under warranty and replaced 3 recently with larger batteries to compensate the losses.
Shits me to tears manufactures just supplying skin only when it's a new model! Supply the full kit. Thanks for the vid.
Sounds like good maintenance mower for a small lawn.
Now if Honda sold these in North America, we'd be golden.
Yea! I'll trust this more than any other brand
Well I saw Honda is to stop producing ice powered lawn mowers this year so you should be in luck
I'm ordering one here soon. I got a connection 😏
Buy a petrol model from Australia.
18 and 16 inch is a bit small. My ego is a 21 inch and I don't think I would go with anything smaller than that. If you have a really small yard it wouldn't be too bad.
2 things. You can get 2x4AH batteries for the price of a 6AH and have one on charge as you use the other. You can get 3 for the price of the 9AH. Second please do a review on the HHT36 brushcutter. I am seriously considering one but not sure if it'll do my heavy grass. We get a tough clumping grass here Brisbane west and you need grunt. I assume the 36 is meant to be similar power to the UMK435 ??
I'm not a fan of bullhorn brush cutters personally. It's an odd choice as their only trimmer.
$1450 wtf 😳 I’d want it to have a coffee machine attachment for that price…
That’s in Aussy dollars which is around a G in usd.
Hondas have never been cheap
Very interested to see your thoughts on the Makita 40v max mowers if you manage to get your hands on them. Have the brush cutter and power head / accessories and chainsaw. Love them all.
I'd will do what I can but they don't reply to me unfortunately
@@turfandtools they are definitely doing themselves a disservice. That's the issue with a lot of these tool companies that are producing yard equipment. You can't really go and test drive at the shop like you can at the mower shop. Tools and stuff in NZ seems to be the best resource on Makita.
I looked hard at makita. People rave about the brushcutters but the mowers get mixed reviews. There is a good youtube on a bloke demoing the catcher that doesn't catch..
Aaand , the price is ridiculous. That's why I went with the gas mower.
Do you know how much Hondas petrol mowers are?
How does the Honda battery range compares to the petrol engine in terms of cutting capability and look. I have the Stihl top of the range battery mower, but the cutting is far from perfect/even! Thanks
It doesn't, I have both petrol and battery Honda's and an aeg 58v
Love this channel
Well that's nice mate! Cheers
How does the cut compare to HRX217HXA? Great info thanks.
Timmy still not seeing many of the Honda or stihl for that matter battery mowers in Aussie yards. The power tool manufacturers where you can use your existing branded batteries are really appealing to consumers.
The two brands mentioned are not active on socials with people using the gear so they are definitely missing out. Marketing isn't about TV ads and catalogues any more. The power tool companies do have a little bit of a leg up as it's so expensive to invest in another battery platform.
I’ve had one for a couple of years - it’s fantastic .
please try dewalt range garden tool tim
I've got a 4 stroke Honda Buffalo HRU19R , older model, great mower. I also bought a Ozito 36v self propelled battery mower with 2 x 4ah batteries and 2 quick chargers as a package. The ozito has a mulch and catch feature as well as side discharge, I was already into Ozito gear so I had 2 x 4ah batteries already, the mower can have 4 batteries in it so it can change from one to the other if the first 2 batteries are used up, this hasn't happened yet. The Ozito would be suited better to medium lawns at say 100m2 out front and back, it does chop the grass at times especially when long. I've used my neighbour's Stihl battery mower and the quality is noticable between them. But for $400 on promotion at the time, I got a great deal. I think the Bigger brands are better in quality but the Ozito stands up, I don't see the sence in paying $1,400 for a battery Mower when you could get a solid 4 stroke for less, or go with the Ozito or other, especially for those little lawns they have these days. Anyway thanks for the video on the Honda Tim.
Cheers mate!
I agree about Ozito. I wish I'd bought the steel deck self propelled but when I went to get one the floods happened here in Brisbane and I wasn't quick enough. Ozito don't do a serious brushcutter though and I need to brushcut more than I mow. Honda mowers used to be the best but in recent years I've heard too many horror stories, so I won't touch their petrol units. I've heard they are stopping production of the petrol mowers anyway..
@@guzzis3
I'll have to look at that I guess, the one I have is getting pretty old. I hope them stopping production on fuel mowers isn't the case.
Did they ever sell these in the USA? I know they are pulling out of the USA market for push mowers. I don't think they even bothered with the battery operated ones here. Probably due to the price. They wouldn't sell here at that price. The top of the line EGO is $850 with a battery and there are cheaper options. I even saw a Milwaukee with two 12ah batteries and charger for $850 total. But I'll still with my Toro super recycler from 2004 for now.
I saw that you can get them here. I think it’s just for the gas mowers that they are pulling out. But they are doing electric.
But idk I need to do more looking.
Looks good Tim.
I’m loving my ego, self-propelled mower that I got for Christmas.
If I have your front and back lawn, I will get a push reel mower and call it a day, it will cut a better lawn, it will be cheap and it will last forever!
Paying the Honda badge tax on battery gear that they have zero pedigree in? Not for me - and I say this owning 3 petrol Hondas.
I have a small yard, and I just love my ego. But one thing I noticed about the Honda. It just seems to run quieter to me.
Steve
try a push reel mower if you have a small yard!
Paying a premium for the name , aeg is far better value with battery redemption offers on most of their gear
Sorry I love Honda mowers but no way id rather get the Ego for that price
it mowed crap try milwalkie
You must have a dud - mine is great and cuts as well as my petrol Hondas
I literally can't see any reason to get this over an EGO. More expensive, less powerful, less ergonomic, smaller, single speed self-propel, no single height adjustment, etc. What am I missing?
It has a couple of things I'd like to see on the ego. Rear discharge and the versamow chute are great. Also doesn't have any lag when you engage the drive and the drive releases right away when you want to pull it back.
@@turfandtools Maybe I'm missing something here, but I don't understand wanting a rear discharge if you aren't bagging. The last thing I'd want to do is be walking where stuff is getting blown directly on my feet.
It’s great if the grass is a little longer. I’d knock it down with the rear discharge then bag after that. Handy option.
No ego has an 1800w motor, the best we get here in Aus is 1000w, and only the cheaper ones get down to 20mm cut like the Honda, Honda build quality is also better as well. So there are a couple of potential reasons.
@@jortho89 1800w motor is interesting. Surprising it can draw that much power from 36v battery, most 36v systems seem to only be capable of achieving around 500w.
You’d have to be thick to think batteries are better then petrol. Batteries suck nuts every day of the week
I own the HRU216 but wifey bought me the HRG466 battery mower a couple of years back, just after it was launched. Have to admit, I didnt think it would stack up but it's seriously great and I haven't used the 216 since.
Just pay ten dollars for the older petrol Hondas. Problem solved. Get two or three of same model and cheap mowing for twenty more years
