I just picked up one of these for $33 in the clearance section at one of my local Home Depots. I really like it so far. Very bright but not blinding like a bright flashlight would be.
Thanks for mentioning that the adapter does not support the Milwaukee jacket. I was going to fire up the "buying" button and get the gen2, I already have the gen1. I was looking at a USB to plug adapter (they are out there) for the jacket but can't figure out exactly which plug Milwaukee is using.
How long is that cord? It doesn't say on Home Depot. That could have come in handy the last couple days for me. Where I was doing cement and paint work in an area with very little lite. I could have wrapped this around a pipe, and have the battery sittlin on the windows sill.
When it comes to lights, it's not like you have to invest hundreds of dollars, when all you need is a charger and i battery. For like $130 you can get the charger and a 2 ahs and 4ahs battery.
@@saulgoodman2018 I have 19 Dewalt batteries atm. four 20v 4ah, six 60v 6ah, eight 20v 2ah and one 20v 6ah. I have 3 different Dewalt lights. Tripod and 2 others, there's about $340 in them, bare tools. While the light looks useful it would be silly for me to go to another platform. Batteries and charger both would be needed, if the light alone is $100 its not worth it to me at least.
Michael Kasbeer-Betty I’ve seen people on eBay sell adapters but they’re around $50. Might be better to buy a battery kit. Ridgid had two batteries charger and bag for $220 and you get a free tool
I wonder what, exactly, is that DC barrel connector spec. It looks to be a 5.5x2.1mm or some other common size (eg. 2:46). PURELY SPECULATIVE IDEA: Assuming it's not some weird, off-standard connector, and there isn't some black-magic funkyness going on, and it just needs DC power of the right voltage, you can get pigtails for pennies on eBay, and make your own adapter to use whatever power supply you like with this. OR-- go the entirely cheapskate route: I love Ridgid's stuff, but personally, if I wanted a mat light similar to this, I wouldn't spend $100, I'd just buy some inexpensive strip lights and sew 'em or hot-glue 'em onto a piece of denim or cordura. Probably could save $80 or more that way, and could customize to your needs depending how many light strips you want. AND when I inevitably roll a creeper or dolly over it, and it goes "CRACK" I don't have to cry nearly as hard :-) LOL
$100, and your have to plug to an external (and not included) battery? No thanks. The compact Milwaukees are a much better solution for a lot less $$$, imo
Both lights have their place, but this will take the place of the compact Milwaukee floods. Is it expensive, yeah... But if it was branded Milwaukee many would be jumping on it for that price.
Sorry you're sorry? Seriously, that's cool as we all like Milwaukee. It is stuff like this that makes me happy not to be tied to one brand. I hope Milwaukee makes one. I will own that one also!
So you buy Ridgid with a different branding... Congratulations. Meanwhile I buy what is available and a mixed bag of tools is always better than selling my soul to a brand
WorkshopAddict there's a reason I buy Milwaukee I've used the Milwaukee buffer for almost 10 years where I work and no problems I used to buy DeWalt and black and pecker that'll never happen again I bought one DeWalt tool and did not last one and a half years
@@robhimself79 Batteries are too expensive to carry several brands. Its better to commit to one brand so you have plenty of batteries ready other then waiting for one to charge.
This is a great light. Just used it yesterday to change the starter out on my truck. I bought it on clearance for $50. Awesome channel.
For a place that frequents power outages this would be great to hang on a wall or lay on a table to give lighting for a room.
Ridgid has some cool lights. Wobbly, panels, now a roll matt...I'm sure it will come in handy ... great review , love the channel 👍

I purchase my today for $35 but I don't have any rigid tool or battery so hoping I can find an adapter to use it with Dewalt batteries
Ridgid should definitely update that power cord so it fits the jacket. That would be super integral.
Could've used this 10 years ago haha! under the car until sunset and packing it up until the next day.

I really expected this plug to work with the jacket.
I guess you could cut the plug off the light and "hot wire" it....lol
find anything that would work for the jacket?
I wonder if one could use the dc jack on the side to power other 19v items? I will have to buy one to find out.
Yes, you can.
Hey... Jeff NEEDS this in his garage!
Is that a hint? Shouldn't you be driving?
What about DeWalts coat power supply? And Dewalts coat battery unit has 2 USB ports.
The Dewalt plug works on the Milwaukee Jacket. I do not think it will work, but I will check today.
Pretty cool tool for the undercar creeper tech
And for the guy with a lift!
I like this idea Ridgid knocked it out the park
Can't believe I missed this video... Smart design, I kinda dewalt would copy this since I only their batteries. Haha

about 8 inches
If i was a ridgid guy I'd likely get it, but I'm pretty heavily invested into dewalt's 20/60v line to even consider another battery system.

Almost ALMOST sold me I wish it was magnetic
Got it love it it was just LSA after one week love team ridgid
Cool idea
Exactly what I'm looking for, for underneath my car. Too bad it's $129 CAD at my home depot for tool only.
Amazon it’s $45!!!!
Interesting.
I'm too vested in Ryobi though.
Wouldn't it be nice if we found a way for this to work with a Ryobi battery
@@WorkshopAddict oh, it's doable.
I got one as a gift but have Ryobi batteries. Has anyone figured out how to power this from Ryobi batteries? Love the channel!!
