  • First impressions/thoughts of my tuned 2012 Buick Regal GS. Seems that the boost kicks in at a lower RPM and hits a little harder as well.

    How exactly can u tell its quicker if there's nothing clocking secs/mph ? A 50mph sprint from 30mph isn't much proof to go off of 😅, but car is nice and definitely has potential

    Buick missed the marck by noy having the 3.8 supercharged version, like a little older versions

      I like the thought of having a bigger engine in the car but surprisingly the 4 cylinder has more hp than the 6 with the supercharger. So its not a complete loss.

      Less displacement and more power, it wasn’t meant to be a big body with a 3800 it was setup to compete with other hood handling 4 cylinders

      So sad GM gave up in north America 😢 in Europe they got an insignia opc 2.8 v6 with the exact same body would be a dream to have one and rebadge to a regal

    That sound was nothing bad. It was just the wastegate and now having more boost you could hear it. Sounds sick wish you ran the gears all the way out.

      I have a K&N cold air intake with a bnr tune in this video. Never threw a code for the 1.5 years it was on the car. Currently I have a z54 turbo, same intake, and a tune through zzperformance. I posted a quick video on it but never got around to posting a full review and comparison.

    • @DanKacey
      @DanKacey  3 года назад

      You could go on bad news racing website and order one specifically for the car you have. I however did upgrade the turbo since and they did not have a tune to support the mods so I got a tune from Matt at ZZPerformance. I haven't done a video with it yet.

    • @DanKacey
      @DanKacey  3 года назад +1

      I know this video doesn't really show it all that well but it's actually decently quick. I just put a boost gauge in the car and it hits 22psi and from what I read the engine can handle that all day. It won't beat any newer muscle car without proper mods but most people don't expect this boat to get up to speed as quick as it does.

    • @DanKacey
      @DanKacey  3 года назад +3

      A company called zzperformance makes bolt on turbo upgrades and more for this car and they easily get their cars with this platform into the 350 wheel hp. With all the right supporting mods they got cars into the 400-450 whp as well. The engine seems very reliable and also seems to hold mods well so in short I'd have to say yes I do like the 4 cylinder they put in it

    • @DanKacey
      @DanKacey  Год назад

      You're right. The tune alone doesn't make it much faster. Just noticeable. I since got a slightly bigger turbo from zzp and an intercooler with a new tune for it all. That being done it is definitely faster than stock
