Peter, my husband and I were talking about the different ways you, Thunder, and Myles all approach Adventism. Thunder, Steve Daily and Myles are warriors--taking no prisoners. You are a peacemaker, the perfect Christian diplomat, even though you are straightforward and say what you think. God is SOOO good to give us various approaches to help Adventists see truth. In fact, most people need both approaches. The kindness of Coleen Tinker and many former Adventists help soften the beaches for me to leave Adventism. I was a wreck of cognitive dissonance a certain points in my life because of Adventist doctrine and a kind approach was necessary. So, God has blessed us former Adventists with men like you, Peter, and a group of kind people to give us a hand up from the ground. You are the kind father-type. Absolutely necessary. But there have been times in my life when I KNEW truth but was so unsure of what to do, so frightened of taking the step towards truth that a strong shove was what I needed and Else and Myles can do that for people. I'm sure God has them for the more stubborn-hearted. God knows where we are and sends us "angels" in human clothing to help the painful transition from Adventism into a healthier Christianity. God bless you all and Merry Christmas.
I try to grasp the idea of transition from Adventism to healthier Christianity... I think the problems lies in surrendering of self. When your surrender self, you will be of Jesus.
@s_hrndz0119 they can be. But perhaps blinded by all the abundant deception they have been told. That's why they need these voices to speak out. I am one who tho sincere as a Adventist, had no idea how far off the tracks I was. It's been a gut wrenching experience realizing how deceived I was.
I’ve read all three books and they are divinely written and inspired. They thoroughly answer ever single doctrinal belief, he leaves no stone unturned. Brilliant work!! Thanks Elce.
Thanks, Peter, for your insightful comments about "anti-gospel." The ground on which I rejected Ellen White's claim of divine agency was her clear and unmistakable teaching of the false gospel of salvation by works. Her false prophecies (did she ever predict a single thing that came true?), literary piracy, hypocrisy, contradictory statements, and flagrant contradictions of scriptural truths are of course each independent grounds on which to reject her, but first and foremost it is her teaching of a false gospel that is dispositive.
WELL, I read many of her books and I come from atheism my friend, not "born" in the church, but I never ever found that she taught salvation by works. Obedience is the fruit of faith. There is nothing wrong with obedience or surrendering of self. Below a few passages from Ellen G White whom you claim she is teaching a false gospel, a gospel of salvation by works: By faith they accept Christ as their personal Saviour, and become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 11LtMs, Lt 74, 1896, par. 34 As the penitent sinner, contrite before God, discerns Christ’s atonement in his behalf, and accepts this atonement as his only hope in this life and the future life, his sins are pardoned. This is justification by faith. 7LtMs, Ms 21, 1891, par. 32 Pardon and justification are one and the same thing. Through faith, the believer passes from the position of a rebel, a child of sin and Satan, to the position of a loyal subject of Christ Jesus, not because of an inherent goodness, but because Christ receives him as His child by adoption. 7LtMs, Ms 21, 1891, par. 33 The sinner receives the forgiveness of his sins, because these sins are borne by his Substitute and Surety. The Lord speaks to His heavenly Father, saying: “This is My child. I reprieve him from the condemnation of death, giving him My life insurance policy-eternal life-because I have taken his place and have suffered for his sins. He is even My beloved son.” Thus man, pardoned, and clothed with the beautiful garments of Christ’s righteousness, stands faultless before God. 7LtMs, Ms 21, 1891, par. 33 David was pardoned of his transgression because he humbled his heart before God in repentance and contrition of soul and believed that God’s promise to forgive would be fulfilled. He confessed his sin, repented, and was reconverted. In the rapture of the assurance of forgiveness, he exclaimed, “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.” [Psalm 32:1, 2.] The blessing comes because of pardon; pardon comes through faith that the sin, confessed and repented of, is borne by the great Sin-bearer. Thus from Christ cometh all our blessings. His death is an atoning sacrifice for our sins. He is the great Medium through whom we receive the mercy and favor of God. He, then, is indeed the Originator, the Author, as well as the Finisher, of our faith. 7LtMs, Ms 21, 1891, par. 36 I don't know if you ever read a book written by her, or you have difficulty in comprehending what she wrote, but to me and many others, it is plainly that she taught a complete gospel message, the full truth.

Hi Peter & Thunder: The thoughtful discussion on Adventist gospel, preceded by fantastic music, is thrilling. Adventist community, I must say, was our spiritual home in our formative years. It sustained us spiritually. At a later point, we felt ready to move on to a new home. I feel that our original home deserves honor. We still cherish our kindergarten teacher even after we graduate to a higher grade level. All grades constitute one process of education. There could be no Christianity without Judaism. As an African Adventist Baha’i, I cherish all the nourishment I received from Adventist teachers including Ellen White. Is it, therefore, possible to celebrate the achievements of Ellen White & Adventists rather than oppose them? Can we emphasize common points of unity rather than give prominence to differences? That perhaps is only possible if we clarify the universal purpose of religion. Does that make sense? Thanks.
Great into music, thanks for that intro. Too bad it’s such a demonic message like “never gonna hold me down”. 😂 (sarcasm).. Love what you’re doing, keep it up.
Where can I find the song that you played during the 5 minute break near the end “I will never be the same…no never.” It’s so beautiful I must have it.

Elce is right. It will be near-impossible for a “Gospel Adventist” system to emerge within Adventism because that’s not the foundation Adventism was built on, plus Evangelical SDAs simply don’t have the institutional power or the numbers to effect change. The main reason the women’s ordination issue was shot down in the 2015 GC was because the mass of delegates who voted it down came from Africa, Asia & Latin America, where the brunt of SDA global representation comes from and where it’s growing the fastest. There just aren’t enough people in North America, Europe & Australia… Plus this is ultimately Ted Wilson’s church. Ted Wilson was elected by these same types of people. He calls the shots and it’s his agenda of distributing 1 BILLION copies of the Great Controversy worldwide that always wins out in the end.
No one who cslled themself a child of God would want to discredit and destroy the work of another child of God to sell their books! The fear of the Lord is Clean, enduring forrver!
