The entitlement of people today is wild.
Tipping needs to be discontinued. It’s unfair to employees and customers. Pricing and wages need to be adjusted accordingly. The tipping thing is out of control.
If you stop tipping, you just remove the possibility of the employees getting more than minimum wage. A whole lot of employees live off of tips compared to wage. We just need large employers to stop taking so much of the money for company profit.

Paying the employees at the cash register is stupid. The delivery driver and the waiters/waitress’s work for tips. If anyone says pay them a high salary they are completely out of touch. Working at fast food was never supposed to be a job that was supposed to be a long term job. It’s what high school and young adults are supposed to do while they are working towards a career. A high school dropout has made the choice to be a low paid worker because they were too lazy (they’d say smart) to do what they should’ve done. Sure, not all dropouts are losers. But most of them are lazy and simply don’t have the intelligence (lacking an education, duh) to make better choices. I was a terrible student. But at least when I was in high school I was able to realize that it might suck in school, what comes next is going to be worse. It took a long time to finally stop being a stupid kid. But my delayed adolescent years were an interesting experience. A lot of bad things happened and a lot of great memories. Mostly a lot of bad decisions, but I still pulled my head out of my ass and figured out that some stuff is your own fault.
But why doesn't the pizza shop pay him? It's getting crazy in America. I had an airbnb host tell me that their maids work really hard and deserve a tip. I'm so confused. Why don't you pay them I wondered?
They do pay him, its not a job that requires much skill though, its essentially a job a high school kid with a drivers license can do. Why should the pizza shop pay him more just because? And then they'd have to drastically raise the prices of their pizzas
@@BrownBomber92181 They should at least be paying minimum wage to delivery people and waiters. As a teen without a high school diploma, I knew I could at least make minimum wage working at a store like Ross or a grocery store.
@@BrownBomber92181 It doesn't matter if you think a job requires much skill or not, they are essential to the business. A restaurant cannot function without wait or kitchen staff, a hospital cannot function without janitors and orderlies, a hotel cannot function without housekeeping staff. While highly skilled and educated workers do deserve to be paid more, there should be a universal baseline from which to calculate wages i.e. hourly rate, that takes into account whether someone can actually afford to exist. There are too many working people living in poverty in so-called first world countries. It's unacceptable and ultimately ends up costing society more than just paying people properly in the first place when people become homeless, ill or turn to crime.
@@BrownBomber92181 It's a little more complicated than you're thinking. If the delivery driver job market was only supplied with high school students that just got their license, then the entire delivery driver job market would suffer from inexperience. Which would result in customers having bad delivery experiences, and therefore making it much less likely for them to be a repeat customer for that corporation. You can see this impact in the job market currently. Lots of places have younger staff and the general consensus seems to be that they aren't working as hard as they should be. If a 30 year old has been doing that minimum wage job since he was 20 and as a result has become very skilled at the job, then I don't see any reason the pizza shop shouldn't pay him more. They defiantly wouldn't "have to drastically raise the prices of their pizzas" as a result of giving a single employee a raise, but capitalist America wants you to believe that.

Soemtimes i will deliver a low tip out of sympathy maybe i had a good paying day i dont need the extra money sometimes i will accept a contract for low pay because as a delivery person it coukd drop me off after the contract is completed in an area that os likely to quickly pay off in another order shortly after but usually most orders i accept theyre seen as contracts to be fufilled so they are usually inbetween where they arent very close or very far so the pay will be low by distance amd size but the tip will be $6.5 $7.5 $10 so I can make 25-30-40 in an hour before expenses and taxes. If i make 40 in the hour and ive made more and less, I owe 10 of it in taxes i spent 2 gallons in gas thats like 7 bucks so i still have 23 an hour to pocket thats almost 25 an hour that isnt half bad 4 hours of work 100 bucks 200 for 8 hours of work. 5 days in a row thats 1000 after taxes and expenses projected over the year thats 50k with a 2 week vacation and weekends off. Your delivery driver does not recieve the delivery fee. The delivery fee you pay for the convenience of receiving food directly at your doorstep goes to whatever delivery service and/or the reurant itself to coordinate that delivery. Refusing to tip delivery drivers is shameful if you realize that likely more than 50% of their earnings comes from tips. What other things? Last I checked there was only a delivery fee when you ordered besides tax lol and none of that other stuff goes to the driver so what you’re saying is irrelevant anyways
Man, if you cannot afford the tips, go to the shop and pick it up yourself. The road was closed due to the snowstorm, and the guy walked half a mile on snow to deliver the food. And you stayed in your warm home and enjoyed the food and just gave $2 for that service? If you are disabled, try to use public service; otherwise, a private service like this in this weather is not cheap. For this bad weather, even Uber, if you could get one, hiked up their prices, justifiably.
If roads are closed why is the restaurant doing deliveries. In my opinion cop was suppose to call the business about endangering their workers. Pizza delivery is not essential work
That's what I think too. It's not the customer's fault that the guy got a small tip. They're allowed to tip however much they want. Police officers just like to be jerks and blame the customer when the delivery driver is at fault.
I agree. And now dude got a whole 11k cause of it. So that means every delivery person that gets a 5% tip and is unhappy should start a gofundme to get a couple thousand tip lol
Ah yes, the US tipping culture. Blame the customer and not the employer. As a customer not only pay for the food and services, but also expected to tip generously.
The tip is for them driving their vehicle and trenching through the snow to deliverer it to you. You could've ordered and picked up the food yourself. If restaurants raise the pay rates, you probably wouldn't order the food, because that cost is going to be passed on to customers regardless.

IF, I knew the man had to go through hell to give me my pizza, I would give him a sizable tip. But I am not going to give you a high tip for driving a car to my apartment in your cozy car. I literally have to pay as much as ANOTHER large pizza just for delivery. Maybe they should start giving delivery people part of the delivery cost as part of their tips. Domin0s has 7.99 pizzas, and the delivery fee is about the same price as that. So I am paying a ton just to get it delivered to me. $20 total just for a large pizza that only cost 7.99.

Low server wages can be mainly blamed on the American Restaurant Association. That was their idea years ago Pay low and let the customer's tips pay the wages.

Cut the sob story. The delivery man was not entitled to ANY tip. Every cent of the 2 dollars was an extra bonus. Perhaps the pizza restaurant should pay him extra during inclement weather.
What the police officer meant to say instead of do better people, is do better companies. If they were paying a living wage, then they wouldn’t be dependent on tips. I’m telling you it’s a company‘s responsibility not customers And it’s crazy how GoFundMe is such an American thing, we have to use it because employers don’t pay us enough money. We have to use it because we can’t get good healthcare. I mean look around see who’s really failing you 🙄
@ So you’re saying if someone works 40 hours a week they don’t deserve to be able to have a roof over their head or food in their stomach or to provide the necessities in life? That makes people not wanna work- point blank. I think if anybody works a job and works 40 hours a week. They should get paid a decent living wage Not everybody wants to work a job where they have to have a college degree. Anybody that gets up and makes the effort to work nowadays should make enough money to live. Honestly, that excuse of getting a better job is getting us nowhere.
Increasing pay doesn't affect tipping. In fact most of these workers are against increasing pay if tipping is removed since they can make a ton of money with tips.
@ it is true that you would make more money hourly with tips than you would on with the employer wants to pay you because they only want to pay like 15 or $17 an hour but what do you don’t understand is with inflation minimum wage should really be about $25 an hour. It goes back to the 1930s and the cost-of-living used to dictate the minimum wage just like Social Security and used to go up every year until the early 1970s the same time we came off the gold standard and they quit doing it but if you do the calculations it would be right about $25 an hour so that’s the reason that everybody feels like they can’t catch up because unless you’re making $24 an hour or more you are living below minimum wage.
.....what's wrong, is your logic. You acknowledge the reality that servers are paid measly wages, forcing them to rely on tips for any semblance of a livable income, and then simultaneously condone people not tipping.
It's the modern way. Have somebody do a super job for you but have someone else pay for the great service you get. Something is so wrong about today.

@@YolandaTaylor-w6uthe delivery driver does not get the delivery fee. That goes to the company.
"There are people that still see what you do that goes unseen in your eyes" - Yep, like your employer. The customer shouldn't be responsible for paying a company's employees a living wage! You can make the argument that food prices will go up, but it doesn't matter, the customer is on the hook either way.
Low server wages can be mainly blamed on the American Restaurant Association. That was their idea years ago Pay low and let the customer's tips pay the wages.
Americans' obsession with tips is insane. I've been to other countries, and the servers and delivery drivers refuse the tip.
BREAKING NEWS: TIP IS NOT A RIGHT!!!
CHEAP HEIFER
Breaking News: Neither is DELIVERY! If you dont want to tip go pick your own damn food up!
If you don't have money to tip, then cook it yourself. People shouldn't have to work for you for free! What a rude person to say something like that! I hope you get everything you deserve from my good friend Karma!
Decency and standards are a MUST!
If you gonna be cheap , then don’t order out , or get you address added to a delivery persons black book, and next time you order , your food will be tampered with or extremely late . I use to deliver pizza 20 years ago for Pizza Hut, and that’s what the delivery drivers would do
Why does everyone get a gofundme for any stupid situation?
Maybe we should stop the GoFundMe app. If somebody is in serious financial, let the government help them with tax-payers money.
America in a nutshell
😂😂😂
Did you vote for kamel toe? sounds like it.
Cut the sob story. The delivery man was not entitled to ANY tip. Every cent of the 2 dollars was an extra bonus. Perhaps the pizza restaurant should pay him extra during inclement weather.
Thank you. We need more cops that show kindness towards this. Including those people who are working hard from the food industries.
Why is tipping mandatory? This tipping culture is weird
in the US most waitstaff only get paid $2 an hour
@@jms5752 and how is that my problem ? find urself a better job . i am not supposed to pay for ur work - i am not ur employer .
we need a no tip culture like now
What the police officer meant to say instead of do better people, is do better companies. If they were paying a living wage, then they wouldn’t be dependent on tips. I personally I always tip better in bad weather. And as someone who was in the restaurant industry for 20 years and survived on tips. I’m telling you it’s a company‘s responsibility not customers
And it’s crazy how GoFundMe is such an American thing, we have to use it because employers don’t pay us enough money. We have to use it because we can’t get good healthcare. I mean look around see who’s really failing you 🙄
Of all people to be telling us to do better, a cop is the last person to have that right.
Maybe the delivery man should learn a skill to get a better job, so he won't need to depend on tips.
@
So you’re saying if someone works 40 hours a week they don’t deserve to be able to have a roof over their head or food in their stomach or to provide the necessities in life?
Nothing wrong with a 2 dollar tip, or even, no tip. What's wrong is the normalisation of tipping culture while simultaneously paying measly wages.
.....what's wrong, is your logic. You acknowledge the reality that servers are paid measly wages, forcing them to rely on tips for any semblance of a livable income, and then simultaneously condone people not tipping. You're the villain. You have two paths of ethical conduct, 1) fight for servers to earn a livable wage, and 2) tip in the meantime.
He got 11k? Did I read that correctly?
Officer Craig is a real one for that. Giving acknowledgment to the people that deserve it.
The irony of a cop telling people to do better is hilarious
Maybe the customer is not that rich to tip better.
Ban tipping.
Nothing like tipping someone and it’s not enough or tipping too much and they expect it all the time.
Employers should pay more to begin with, but hey what do I know??
I wouldn't have given any tip. NOT my fault your ONLY skill is carrying something. 😅😅😅
Then you should get up and get your own food
How about these employers paying better 😅…that’s an idea
Not customer’s responsibility to pay the employee… that’s the company’s job
Not the officer yelling at the working/lower class to "do better" 😭💀
How do you know that the customer was working/lower class?
They obviously had 40$ to order out, knowing it's a snow storm and dangerous roads. Can't always make excuses for people..
Working/low class should probably not be spending their money on deliveries. That’s how you end up poor.. bad financial decisions like this! Anyway, they could be loaded, we don’t know. Rich people can be cheap.
He’s saying do better to the person who ordered the food.
@@dec1slh how does the officer branding them know they aren't?
I personally wouldn't have been that selfish to order pizza during a huge snowstorm to begin with.
Yeah no, I got soup at home.

and we all know its not just a 40 dollar pizza, its all that extra costs besides that tip.
😂 it’s a fkn pizza…. someone ordered one, how is that so bad? Instead of blaming the paying customer you should blame the business for even operating and taking deliveries in such a scenario. Get off that high horse.
America is so screwed up. I wish i seen a tip for doing my job.
But the pizza delivery app probably charged $13 service fee on top of the original order
As happy as I am for this man...
This man is exactly like MY MAN who delivered pizza to people in Montana for 12 years...the problem with winter deliveries would make a long list...trust me...I have stories...but we have 5 children and it sure would be nice to be seen like THIS guy was seen... it's really really sweet. People really DO need to do better BUT I also understand that times are tough...you just don't know what other people are going through so be the change you want to see in the world ❤
If times were that tough, they would be making their own pizza, NOT ordering it!
Yeah, don’t be buying $40 pizza and buy something that goes further!!!
I don’t understand why people who work for the company don’t go after the company! As a customer I pay all the fees play deli every fee taxes and tip. I’ve fulfilled my obligation hey that’s probably why the pizza cost 40 all that adds up. The fight isn’t with the customer. That’s taking the convenient way out by attacking the customer. Go to the employer hold a protest get unionized do anything except take out on us we aren’t the problem.
@@Mk7519yeah next time you're too lazy to go pick up your own food, order Uber eats and then don't pay them when they deliver, see how well that goes for you 🤦🤦

Then what would stop him from just taking his time, stoping at a girls house for some fun, stopping for coffee then bringing your pizza. All he’d have to say was traffic or something. Tips incentivize good service
@caseyblankenship987 -A good salary incentivized a good service regardless.
@caseyblankenship987You know that is how it works in Europe. You have ETA and system works pretty well. Also most of the places have company vehicles or motorcycles for deliveries. Plug in boy it is 21st century not 1800 anymore
This office is amazing for vouching for this delivery man. I am not sure if the people/person he delivered to realize the trip this man made. But I'm glad kind and generous people donated to him.
People are insane. If they end tipping the owners will just increase prices. And then people won't see the money.
Think about it, you are saying the owners are greedy. Will they stop being greedy if tips end?
Be honest. This is because you're cheap, and this is the only way you know to save money

7 bucks extra for a decent tip
They paid $40 for a pizza, please delete this comment.
I sometimes can’t afford a big tip I wish I could and I wouldn’t be ordering food if it wasn’t a day I was too physically muscle fatigued I couldn’t get down my stairs and drive to pick up food myself. Often I can’t walk from my health conditions so I tip whatever I have left on my bank card and often it’s $3 but also the Pisa place charges $6 to drive 6 blocks to deliver and that’s insane regardless and it’s not in snow storms and they always mess up my order. So if they don’t give quality service can’t get orders right and with tip it’s $10 just to drive it 6 blocks with horrible service I think that’s still a good deal for them. If they gave me great service and didn’t charge me almost two gallons of gas to deliver on top of a tip I would give more.
Hmmm. Seems like it was staged to set up a gofundme
If people got paid a living wage we wouldn’t have to depend on generosity of others to survive. Government wasted nearly 30 trillion dollars of money we don’t have; that’s a big part of our problem.

There should be a delivery fee that goes straight to the delivery guy. With the weather factored in. End tipping.
I want to know is why he thought he should go out there delivering pizzas and sweats and sneakers during a snowstorm.. then wants to complain about it... Maybe you should've dress for the weather bro
Did the delivery guy complain ? It was the cop who asked him what he was delivering and how much tip he got. It was the cop who started the GoFundMe page.
This is so sad! The pizza place should not even be sending workers out in this kind of a mess!!!
This isn't a snow day free from school. People need to work to pay bills. Everything is voluntary. Your solution is the restaurant should forcefully cut off their employees from monetary gain. Your solution is taking away choice and economically hurting the employees who want to work.
You need to go after the delivery businesses that employs this individual because they are the ones taking most of his money. I’m sure the people who gave him the two dollar tip had no idea that he had to walk a half a mile just to get to their house. If you look at all the fees that these companies charge just to have a delivery sent to your house is robbery
He should have been dressed for the weather!!!! I did deliveries in the snow, was dressed for it and never EXPECTED a tip! I would have been grateful for ANY tips at all!!!!!!
Why he has no winter boots or jacket.
Well he didn’t make a fuss about it
Now, we are shaming the customers because their staff have minimum wage?
$2 is a good tip. Tips are optional and not mandatory. The employers are responsible to pay a decent wage.
The tip system is a corrupt system because it is not based on accounting. It's arbitrary and discretionary , all the adjectives you don't want to deal with
