Charles Barkley also used to bully her on the court about how skinny she was. So she became really insecure about it and actually did everything she could to gain weight.

Kids are so cruel and it's important for parents to communicate with their kids but teasing helps build character and strength
Teasing doesn't build strength and self-esteem and character, that only helps people with already friends and a firm base of popularity because they know the teasing is just that teasing but teasing is bullying when used wrong and it's really damaging to someone's life because of teasing used the wrong way, I should know because I was teased bullied for years in school and even now I am still unable to have a normal life, I have been in therapy and it didn't help but the therapist said that I have PTSD from it and it stays with you for the rest of your life and it's really hard to break the mindset that created from being teased and bullied, I had 12 years straight in school of that bullying, so don't think that bullying or teasing doesn't take a toll and destroys a person

Well good for you for standing up for yourself but was it only 1 or a few times, that's not what I could have done because I was alone no friends to help me, and I didn't have just one bully I had 9 in elementary and a lot more in jr high and even more in high school because the bullies from elementary moved with me and got so many more to pick on me, remember I am alone and the smallest in the school and I am still very short so I never out grew the shortness, I am 5 1 and some of the bullies were teachers that called me stupid and slow, and the girls took there turns on me too, no one would date me or go to dances with me, and the jocks would pick me up and literally drown me in the toilet (swirlies) but they do it until I was unconscious and the pantsing was humiliating and sometimes they took my underwear down too, and then the needling they would, stabbing me with needles and the wood burning tool attack, I had to learn to be Rudy the rabbit, from meatballs the movie, I ran for my life everyday against the walls to get by people and had to learn to take steps 2 at a time going up and a lot of time to take 2 or 3 steps coming down they were always looking for me, so standing up for myself wasn't an option, and you should know how that works if you stand up for yourself you get pummeled by more then one a****le and if by some chance you win then there's always another who's going to say oh you think you're so tough then let's see what you do with me, and then you have to keep fighting and get yourself in the hospital because if you hurt him then he makes you pay for actually giving him pain and his friends will be there to help him out by holding you while he beats the crap out of you, all bullies are is chicken shots because they can't fight a person by themselves they have to have help and call that a win and he the man, that's no man not win you have to have your opponent held so he can't block or fight back, and it's not a real win for the bully but everyone thinks it's fair so it's chicken shot period, but I guess you didn't have that much bulling before you stood up for yourself, good for you, a therapist wasn't able to help me that much either so trying to get over everything is very very impossible and my whole self is gone, I don't have any self-confidence or self-esteem or willpower, I am destroyed

I think people who call you ugly or mock you or talk about a feature on your body is probably jealous of you more or less.
Back when I was in High School, I felt really insecure. I didn't talk to anyone because from late Elementary School to Late Middle School, I was bullied by dudes claiming I was "Ugly" and would use me as an example of a guy that no one would wanna be with. In middle school, I tried to act cool and different to see if people would stop calling me ugly, but then here comes the trend setters of Elementary school who let everyone know that I'm "Ugly" once more in middle school now. Had one guy laughing at me once and I said "Whats so funny?" as he was pointing and laughing and he said "Because you ugly".
Finally came High School, and I thought "New school, new kids, new attitude and appearance?" So I yet again tried to act different and cooler and changed my appearance yet again. People noticed I looked different, and so far so good, I wasn't called ugly yet. Then here comes the dudes from Middle School spreading their" I'm ugly" trend once more. I was done, I couldn't take it anymore, so I mocked his appearance, but forgot what I said. I can definitely tell you guys how he looked though, he had a basic fade hairstyle, an oddly shaped peanut head, small bat looking eyes, AND he was like probably 5"1 where I was 5"7.
Finally School ended, and by the time I hit 12th grade graduation, the last day when we was suppose to get our certificate, I didn't go, because I felt too insecure, felt like no one liked me at all since I was called ugly my whole school life.
Suddenly my Snapchat blows up with people having videos for my graduation, and when they called out my name to get my certificate, everyone was cheering louder than ever they claimed for my name over any one else's name, and A LOT of people started adding me on Snapchat and Facebook admitting things to me.
Had one of my bullies even admit "Sorry we made you feel some kind of way Lil bro, we was just a lil jealous that you had this long curly hair and we'd always see girls playing in it and you always seemed to get along with the hottest girls like nothing" Where as a lot of other Snapchat people who added me was screaming in my DMs asking "WHY DIDN'T YOU GO TO THE LAST DAY OF GRADUATION? YOU WAS THE MOST ANTICIPATED PERSON EVERYONE WAS WAITING AND CHEERING FOR"
After seeing all these Snaps about people apologizing and how they was just jealous of me or afraid to talk to me because they "thought I was too cool to talk back" I felt happier, but I just wished they didn't call me ugly at all because I didn't go to any school dances or field trips or any social activities because I thought I was just an unwanted outcast. Hell, I even declined a lot of my girl best friends relationship request because I didn't want them to be with an "ugly dude". Those bullies screwed my school year up big time. But that's bullies for you. Jealous of things you got and that they don't got.
